Welcome to the new common room! Grab yourself some Twiglets and a glass of Chateau Gisborne or some Polish Cordial and come on in - the water's lovely!

OK I remember that vaguely - but will consult the fount of all knowledge for exact details. I think there were some set pics or videos too. Back soon.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 22:31
, although the films do have a charm of their own. . There is so much joy here.
asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 22:33

Thank you, Oyster. I thought your pals would know.

Are you feeling better today, by the way?

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 22:40

Thanks I'm Ok though was a bit queasy this morning - there's always a price for spilling your guts.

I've found the thread with the info - forgive me for taking so long but it's over 40 pages long!

Anyway I believe that scene was filmed on July 12th, still looking for exactly where though I think it may have been in Southwark/ London Bridge area though that may be my faulty memory.

There are pics and videos - will post soon

Why is this important?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 22:43

I must dig the DVD out and watch it again. As always I screamed with laughter when the boys came boogying on. I bet it was fun to make, they look as if they're having a great time.

Meanwhile

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 22:44

Referring to Mamma Mia, not Spooks, the order of posts makes it unclear

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 22:48
Video of filming on July 12th
asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 22:49

Many thanks, Oyster. It's not important at all - just idle curiosity - so don't feel you have to do anything more. I read a while back on some other thread that someone thought it had been filmed in Greenwich. When we were in Greenwich on my birthday, some v v annoying people were having one of those talking very loudly so you can hear we work in telly conversations about shooting something nearby. Reading the other thread made me wonder whether it was Spooks and the conversation just now about Lucas jogged my memory. But the dates don't fit.

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 22:56

It was Bermondsey Street in London

Another pic from Twitter

There's info on the (open) Spooks forum about this filming too.

Incidentally, the last days of filming were at Wandsworth Town Hall not long after this. Some people went to watch and managed to have a chat with Richard and get some photos - very nice I must say :). And a member of the crew let slip then that Richard's next project was Captain America - that caused some excitement I can tell you!! But it took 2 months for confirmation.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 22:56

Oh, Theresa, thank you. . But he is a style influence, rather than a sartorial one. I think my bliaut and platform boots combo will be exactly comme il faut for the Christmas party, non?

And don't you just love the sight of Foghorn Leghorn Darcy exuberantly strutting his stuff in an aqua catsuit? Again, it suggests he is a Good Sport which is one of my Criteria.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 23:00

Is some people went to watch a euphemism for had themselves smuggled onto the set, Oyster? Wink

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 23:03

No I don't think they had to smuggle themselves on - and Richard knew they were waiting and found some time to talk to them. I'll see if I can show you a picture. Need to load it on my PB account first.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:07

That is one joyous number altogether, Flowers, and I grok Good Sports myself.

There's an awful lot of old stuff and really old stuff on YouTube, a real goldmine, I had no idea.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 23:14

Do you want or need any further joy, Theresa? I have discovered that the Foghorn Leghorn online fan community is called Drool.

I really do intend to do a PhD about the nature of fandom and the permeable boundaries between self and other in the age of t'interweb.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 23:19

More old stuff from YT.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:22

Drool?? I wonder why? Perhaps I don't want to know.

Fandom is a difficult creature to pin down, there are so many flavours and strengths. Also interesting is why fandom exists in the first place.

One can never have too much joy, it's so fleeting and always gets away from you so fast. So you need constant top-ups.

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 23:25

Here's one of those pics

Clickie

And there are a couple more in same album

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 23:27

Yes, that's why I think it would make a good PhD. Lots of shrinkology there. From 80,000 mourners at Rudolf Valentino's funeral to Kevin and Perry tweeting Lucasisms from Runcorn.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:39

A different kettle of clicky fish, here, but I always wish I could do

I hope you are not going to mention a certain group of ladies on the internet who convene nightly for all sorts of shenanigans, when you get round to that PhD.

The willing suspension of disbeief, cubed, and all that.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:40

Thanks for the information Oyster. How do you manage it?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:43

disbelief, obviously

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 23:43

Nothing to do with me - I just snaffle other people's pictures'n'stuff

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 23:46

It's not so different, Theresa. The foot movements look very similar to tap-dancing, the stillness of the upper body is the difference. I have resolved to rejoin my class in January, to recapture the sweet bird of youth.

I've just been watching clips of another Richard (Mr Gere) in the Cotton Club. YT is a marvellous thing.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 23:46

That's what spooks do, Oyster Grin

PrairieOyster · 07/12/2010 23:49

Well, that would be telling wink
