Welcome to the new campus of the Academy for Advanced Armitage Studies, part of the University of Milton-Northern.

We offer courses at all levels from introductory to advanced and opportunities for independent research. Come and share your learning with us.

freudian slip ha ha. Henchman I meant.

40deniertights · 24/11/2010 12:31

All this dashing from campus to campus takes it's toll. Does the canteen stock only polish cordial and ratafia biscuits?

Mrs LN, I think you should seriously approach publishers MillsandBoon with your romantic tales. We would all support you and buy them.
I mentioned a while back that I was dressed a la Thornton. Lately I have adopted all black, tight trousers, boots etc, channelling Guy. Mr Tights has a Lucasesque black shirt. I am concerned, does this mean a Sparkkhouse sweater is just around the corner?

PrairieOyster · 24/11/2010 12:34

Or even an orange jump suit...!

Tights,
Guy is having an effect on me too, I fear. I have long since favoured black but I dug my favourite leather jacket out of the wardrobe and did a few twirls in it. I like boots too. And I have been fondly musing about my days wearing leather trousers Blush

MrsLucasNorth · 24/11/2010 12:39

I'd love leather trousers - need to lose a lot of weight first though.

As for DH, no point trying to play dressup with him as he has dark brown eyes.

Re. the clothing forum, I misspoke. The thing I found wasn't exactly a forum dedicated to it - it was a general Spooks forum (called something like Spook Central?) and there was one particular thread on there about the clothes. I found it 'cos I Googled "Lucas North shirts" :) I don't know what/who Dr S is though.

As for my nickname, I don't wear Boden (though the Minis do), I just flog it on eBay for huge sacks o'cash :)

40DT, I love tight trousers tucked into boots (on women) but sadly my days of tight trousers are way behind me. About 30 years behind me, actually :)

Oh and whoever remarked that the narwhal was from Octonauts, good call, you were right! (MadameO, possibly? Sorry, I've forgotten as it was a few days ago now)

MadameOvary · 24/11/2010 12:48

Gad, can you imagine the bliss of a tall, dark haired, blue-eyed DH who'd play dress-up with you, guyliner and all???

40deniertights · 24/11/2010 12:49

H and M do plain dark cheap shirts that are ok.

asmallbunchofflowers · 24/11/2010 12:49

Am glad to see that Mr Tights is again referred to as Mr Tights and not Mr Bloody Tights, as after the unfortunate RH deletion incident.

Dixon will be here shortly to serve some hearty stew (straight from the canteen at Marlborough Mills) for lunch. Dessert will be an apple (from the Locksley orchards), followed by coffee (the only sustenance available on the Grid, apart from a very rare doughnut).

Back soon.

I think the dodgy jumper and orange jumpsuit are taking it a bit far, but I have worn my leather jacket an awful lot just lately, with of course the black teeshirt and jeans (leather trousers are a bit sweaty, I am sure, even if I had the figure to suit them)

And I can take criticim about Guy, don't worry, I was only kidding before. He looks awful in most of season 3, I agree he's dim when it comes to Marion, and his wooing technique is pretty crap.Fancy coming on to a girl when her father has just died. He needs taking in hand, that man.

My Dh has the requisite shirts in his wardrobe, but nothing else matches, so I am not going to go there.

Mrs LN, good for you with your GTN plans. What news of John Lucas?

MadameOvary · 24/11/2010 12:50

Boden, I know the Octonauts episodes very well, they are on YT too, thanks to a kind soul. DD is forever going on about "slippy the snot sea cucumber"
Anyway, happy to help Smile

asmallbunchofflowers · 24/11/2010 12:52

Boden - Sticking with the topic of clothes, tell me more about the Boden on Ebay thing. How/why are there so many sellers with (it seems) a warehouse full of Boden to flog? Or is this a secret arrangement with dear, dear Johnnie which you are not at liberty to divulge?

40deniertights · 24/11/2010 12:52

Fortunately it was series 3 only, otherwise it might have been curatins for the pair of Tights!

40deniertights · 24/11/2010 12:53

curtains obviously

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/11/2010 12:53

Who are you cowering at, Flowers? Not me I hope.

Re dress-up, a bit of Loreal midnight black and some coloured contacts might help in some cases. I am sure they would co-operate once they realised what was in it for them.

BodenBabe · 24/11/2010 12:54

DH has blue eyes but it's been a good few years since he had dark hair :o I asked him to let me put Guyliner on him the other day but he refused - he's not a Guyliner kind of bloke at all, bless him! I will do when he's drunk once day though, heh-heh-heh...

MadameO, my DS is Octonaut crazy. One of my worst things at the moment is him yelling "WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!" at an ear-piercing pitch; this is his OctoAlert.

StripeyMoon · 24/11/2010 12:55
asmallbunchofflowers · 24/11/2010 12:55

Was cowering from the Wrath of Theresa on Behalf of Slighted Guy. Am easily scared. But why is Stripey hiding from me?

OP posts:
StripeyMoon · 24/11/2010 12:57

Boden I was going to bring up Matt Baker but thought I would be shot down in flames. His guyliner on the halloween night was rather seductive.

DSs here also Octonaut fans.

DH used to have black hair now very grey, he has tawny eyes, I think the contacts and a bottle of Just for Men may be on the Christmas list .

asmallbunchofflowers · 24/11/2010 12:58

Ah. All is now clear.

Must go to costermongers as I have run out of ingredients mid-ratafia biscuit baking. Will be back soon. Save me an apple.

BodenBabe · 24/11/2010 12:59

Flowers, Boden have what they call Town Hall sales where they sell off old stock at less than half-price (nearly all kids clothes are £10). It's a hideous experience though, you have to queue for hours then when they open the doors it's all pushing and shoving and is quite scary. You have to buy loads to make it worth your while though. I think I worked out that I make about £4 or £5 per item on the basic stuff but I make loads on the coats, at least £20 profit per coat. I also buy it for the Minis and then sell off what hasn't been ruined by their grubby mitts - even the 2ndhand stuff has a great resell value. I haven't done it for a while though, I went to 2 sales last year but there haven't been any near me this year.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/11/2010 13:00

Not to worry Stripey. I can see Guy for the very rough diamond that he is.
Too perfect is bland after all. And moral and psychological superiority is downright scary.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/11/2010 13:01

Flowers, see above at 13.00.06
