Teresa

Just read your piece about 8.4 - don't worry I've seen it already, even watched it with Mr Oyster, though that was shortly before I became a blithering idiot fan, perhaps it even contributed to my downfall conversion (interesting thought).

Anyway, you clearly haven't seen Between the Sheets! The technical term for the 'costermonger's wares' is "peaches" by the way.

PrairieOyster · 29/11/2010 14:12

Is only one strike out per post allowed? Duh!

Oh, BTS... blimey, can't be doing with thinking about that scene again

Oyster, your strikeout didn't work because you have to strike out each individual word.

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 15:33

Hello again fair ladies.

Oyster - I really don't think that I am suited for, ahem, military life. I like the cosy and warm (not to say occasionally overheated) atmosphere around here but find some of the stuff that emanates from (I gather) said military establishment a bit uncomfortable. But chacun a son gout, as they say in Moscow.

Theresa - If you google Armitage + Thornton + image (which is how I used to find my paintings until I got a bit more savvy) some pictures emerge which are definitely not of Mr Thornton but have an extensive display of costermongers' wares.

And now for something completely different

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 15:41

Another reason why I would not fit into military life is that I refuse to speak the lingo. I like the fact that, round 'ere, PlasticGuy is usually called PlasticGuy and I refuse to call him LittleGuy. Ditto with the costermonger's wares or (if we're feeling really fruity) nectarines.

Thanks for the highly technical tip Flowers, but TBH after this morning's little tranche of shock and awe, I feel a bit like King John, who, you'll remember from that learned tome 1066 and All That, died of a surfeit of these

Different is certainly a word for that painting. Now that is a dodgy look if ever there was one.

I hope the car is sorted now and you are recuperating with a nice hot cup of cocoa.

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 16:00

Fair point, Theresa. I have thawed out now and in the course of my errands even called in at the drapers' merchants and bought myself a new bliaut for Christmas.

I am now .

I think this could convince me that military life might not be such a bad thing...

Combining my interests with MrsLN's

MrsLucasNorth · 29/11/2010 16:22

Flowers - I have to say it again - John Porter is sooo worth a watch, and much more fun on Twitter than TTL!

Bodenbabe · 29/11/2010 16:23

Loving that pic of the good Doctor. Some of the promotional shots on that page are so funny. this one in particular makes me giggle

So, we are talking about the Army, yes?

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 16:24

I'm sure he is, MrsLN, but we don't have Sky and it's really not something I'm going to buy on dvd.

I am trying to wean myself off Twitter. These days I only follow wholesome people like the Reel Molesworth and Doctor Johnson!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 29/11/2010 16:24

That was naughty of you to dial 999 , though, Flowers. You didn't need ressucitation, just your tyres.

Re King John, could it really have been Guy's fault all the time? He spend two whole episodes absent at John's court in series three, or so I am told

Bodenbabe · 29/11/2010 16:27

Howdy, MrsLN! I haven't twirted with John Porter because I haven't seen the show, so he's a bit meaningless to me at the moment. I'm sure I will do though :)

Theresa, she would've needed resuscitation if Dr Track had turned up though.

Oh pants, I forgot to watch Dibley today :(

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 16:30

Oh but I was very cold, Theresa. I might have had hypothermia. I needed a thorough medical examination and a big strong man to rub my toes.

There is nothing of which Guy would not be capable. After all, he seems to have managed to get to Palestine and back in about a fortnight, courtesy of a cheap deal on LastMinuteCrusade.Com.

StripeyMoon · 29/11/2010 16:39

Speaking of John Porter, my DVD still hasn't come and the seller is not responding to emails .

I take it you have all been to this shop?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 29/11/2010 16:40

Fair enough, Flowers. Who would not have done the same?
Ah yes it's all becoming clear to me about King John. he caught one sight of our Fallen Angel in his even more form-fitting new trousers and died of pique because he was never going to look that hot, even though he was the king and all.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 29/11/2010 16:41

Still waiting for both my audio books too. Could there be an Armitage embargo?

StripeyMoon · 29/11/2010 16:48

I watched Dibley. T'was lovely.

PrairieOyster · 29/11/2010 16:52

Stripey

Yes I've been to that shop - not bought anything though. Dibley is lovely especially the first one.

asmallbunchofflowers · 29/11/2010 16:52

Arf, Stripey. Which of those t-shirts are you modelling for us at the moment?

Don't forget, Theresa, that King John looks not unlike Mr Toby Stephens and so is not entirely bereft in the, ahem, heat department either.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 29/11/2010 16:56

Am loving the shop, Stripey.
So will Flowers I am sure. Why no Lucas ones, I wonder, or is he struck off after allegedly crossing to the Dark Side?
