I have a small but (perhaps) thrilling gift for you. .

Thanks for the link again, Oyster. It's such a gorgeous coat and a perfect length, too. Why do so many coats not even cover your bum? Another question for you, Oyster - on Twitter, who is Duckie and hwy are they called that? I thought it was Dimitri but is it John Porter? Me confused.

Morning, Madame!

DH's Lucas shirt arrived this morning and it's lovely but it's navy, not black! Dammit! Not black enough for black and not blue enough for midnight blue

MadameOvary · 25/11/2010 11:54

Morning Boden
Annoying when that happens isn't it? Been looking at that 4 pocket jacket in Debenhams. Rather nice and verrrry Lucas.

I was chuckling too at all the "Armitage Persona Clones" eyeing each other up. There's definitely a comedy sketch in there somewhere.

It looks like we can soon expect a round-up of the 24 hour plays on YT, as there is one from 2009 on there. Yay!
Painting with DD and she asked me to paint a snake -

StripeyMoon · 25/11/2010 12:32

This thread is like Hotel California. I was determined to stay off today but I can't

Nice Debs coat, may have to see if they have it in giant sizes.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 25/11/2010 12:37

Hello ladies. Further to the Armitage clone scenario, I have visions of them all getting together finally and comparing notes

''Has yours got you to do the guy-liner and leather kecks thing yet? Or made you play doctor in an orange jump-suit? ''

''My missus insisted on pretending to be a lap-dancer with a Russian accent. Not that I'm complaining, but just what is going on here?''

''Think yourself lucky, mate. I had to jump into the local swimmng pool fully dressed in jeans and dark blue Prardar shirt''

Finally, a trivia question, if Military Intelligence is about.
Does Guy's horse have a name? I am aware of its real name, I just wondered what its horsey character was called, if anything.

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 12:37

LOL at Snake Charmer! (forgot to add my congrats about publishing yesterday - how exciting for you!)

Don't forget The Culture Show tonight, BBC2, 7-8pm, everyone! Desperately hoping they will at least show a clip of the RA play.

Yeah, that 4 pocket jacket is gorgeous, isn't it, Madame?! Not very long though. Will check it out at the weekend though. I'm sure I saw one on M&S website too, actually. Have given up on the Burberry replica - didn't find one anyway but other replica coats are several hundred dollars anyway, which is also way out of budget

Can't stop smiling about a tube carriage
full of clones. That was a classic, Theresa :o

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 12:38

Oh, Theresa, crossed posts! ROFL, that is even funnier!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 25/11/2010 12:47

Grin Boden. I am sure our own DHs would make a far better show!

Shall we write this one up then, and send it to the Old Vic for next year?

Entirely free, gratis, and for charity.

Though we wouldn't turn down one or two complimentary tickets.

StripeyMoon · 25/11/2010 12:52

I'd go to see it!

asmallbunchofflowers · 25/11/2010 12:53

I've been thinking that we should have some badges made, saying "My wife bought me this because she thought it would make me look like Lucas/Guy/Mr Thornton/Doctor Jumpsuit". We could add these to our range of tip-top quality Christmas merchandise.

I will, of course, be glued to the Culture Show, although - sorry to be a party pooper but I don't want us to collapse into a heap of weeping disappointment, necessitating excessive Polish cordial intake - I think a large part of the philosophy is that the plays should only exist for 24 hours. I'm assuming too that the sorts of copyright/rights/royalties issues which are what I imagine might also prevent them putting the plays on YT will also prevent them showing them on the programme.

Anyone want lunch? Once again, we have Marlborough Mills stew, Locksley apples and Grid coffee.

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 12:54

I bet RA would find it hilarious.

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 12:57

I fear you may be right, Flowers. I was just thinking that maybe someone at the production company taped them for posterity. I'm sure you're right though :(

Just had Ye Olde tuna sandwich (if you can call it a sandwich with stoopid WeightWatchers bread) but a Locksley apple would go down nicely, ta.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 25/11/2010 13:03

Be sure to bite into your apples in true approved style. You can check in your mirrors to make sure you're doing it right. Advanced students can then move on to glove removal

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 14:04

Lovely pic on Twitter just now...

MadameOvary · 25/11/2010 14:13

Boden - snap! I am also having tuna sarnie.
I notice that Lucas is also a dab hand at glove-removal-with-teeth, tho cant remember which episode/vid it was in.

Very good Theresa, my DP is definitely too old for leather but looks good in blue.

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 14:26

Ooooh, are you buying it?!?! (is this for you or DH btw?)

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 14:28
BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 14:33

(sorry for 3rd post in quick succession)

p.s. Flowers, I told TTL that I thought he'd been watching too much of The Two Ronnies. So I'm getting there... :)

Theresaholeinyourmind · 25/11/2010 14:38

I did love that Lucas moment, Boden, thanks for the reminder.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 25/11/2010 14:59

Grin at Flowers. Darn it, and I was hoping for some deep philosphical and metaphorical significance for the gesture.

Along with this little bit of news from today's papers

BodenBabe · 25/11/2010 15:37

The significance may be female (or gay male) directors? Though Flowers is probably bang on with her theory (and LOL at your last sence, F:) )

How funny about that Prada news. Does it add "profits would be higher if it wern't for those cheapskates who buy our stuff 2nd-hand from eBay"?

MadameO, if you haven't bought that jacket yet but are intending to, you can get 4% cashback from topcashback so that'd save you about £4. And you could no doubt find a discount code to add on top of that...
