I was once called a 'hefty big girl' when I was about 19 - not terribly offensive but I was absolutely gutted!
Btw no wonder, he's your 'ex' now mummyof2girls

I used to work in an office and we had a 'trouble-shooter' come in to sort out some problems. One day he asked me for some files, which I took to him whilst he was sitting in an office on his own. He thanked me for the files, then said I was looking 'nice and cool' as it was a particularly hot day. I thanked him, and he then added 'I bet you're sizzling underneath though'....

When I gave up my part time job to concentrate on my A levels I was told 'what's the point, you'll only get married and have babies anyway'.

Just about to finish my masters, hopefully

mummyof2girls · 08/09/2005 22:28

A verbally abusive man called me an ignorant bitch. He got the bitch part right, that I didn't find offensive, but the ignorant part?! I left his ass.

they snobily and racially said they didnt want me to have their grand children. They were not saying much when I left though - just the satisfying sound of sobbing at the dinner table.

janeybops · 08/09/2005 22:38

man at car boot trying to sell his exercise bike.

I am a care assistant to the elderly, so have been called all sorts.

I've been told I am not fit to own a dog, and she (the rude old lady) hoped to God I never had children.

I've heard "Good grief girl, you get fatter every time I see you!"

I've been called a "dirty prostitute who never washes her knickers, just like that Sharon, going off behind the 'stute with those soldiers. None of you ever wash your knickers, you dirty arses!" (this one actually had me howling with laughter!)

I've been accused of poisoning someone's porridge.

And all of us have been told by our boss that we are all completely dispensable, so we're not to get any idea's about unions. That's the only one that offended me.

I am quite hard to offend, I suppose....

fairyfly · 08/09/2005 22:41

The correct term for your children even if you like it or not is Bastards, so i shall call them that.

Someone once said that anyone with special needs was a burden to society. I was very pissed off.

Nah sod it, i just said you are very welcome to call me a bitch but if you ever say that infront of my kids i will..........see thats the point, what on earth can you threaten people with ( unless of course you are violent and slightly unstable).

In my case it was somebody so scared of rules and christianity they had quite clearly lost all diplomacy and tact. Lovely man really, far too much praying and not enough living. I think most derogatory comments that are aimed to hurt and shock are for attention. Feel sorry for them all, We're all the same.

Beetle73 · 08/09/2005 22:54

NOt the worst thing ever (that one still stings), but DP looked at me this morning, feeling good in pinstripe trouser suit and said 'oh, you're in drag again today, then.'

woosmummy · 08/09/2005 22:55

During 48hr labour ending in very emergency CSEction a midwife thought it was appropriate to discuss why it was important for me to loss weight - ok, i am overweight, but FFS there is a time and place!!

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:03

dh once said to me that "anything you can do I can do too.... except give birth......oh but you cant do that either can you" just a few weeks after em c/s.

My twin sister told me that I was responsible for mum's death because she had my dd after nursery which put a strain on her which caused her brain haemorrage.

Carla · 08/09/2005 23:05

On Monday, walking back with dds, some delightful woman said 'Let me take you home. My car's only round the corner. Especially in you condition'
