at these things

my parents, brother and sister and dx have said so many offensive things over the last 8 years that its hardly worth repeating them.

Enid · 09/09/2005 13:03

My MIl said that dd1 was really a 'little bastard' as dh and I werent married.

I will never forgive her as long as I live.

Lucycat · 09/09/2005 13:13

Isn't Bouj going to tell who the Aussie was? do we have to guess?
OK which sport? Tennis?

xenabelly · 24/03/2007 23:40

A bloke I was having an affair with was telling me that his wife had really bad cellulite and then seeing my look of horror (at his saying such a horrible thing) he said 'oh don't get me wrong, i know you've got it too, but you wear yours well' !!??!!

I've never been so offended - serves me right for doing a married man i suppose!

minkulus · 29/03/2007 23:26

When told that i had to have my gallbladder removed in an emergency op, my MIL came to see me at the hospital. "Well thats good....you should get nice and thin now!" miserable cow!

QueenofTwee · 29/03/2007 23:30

That I looked like a man in drag (when I was 19!) - must have gone a bit overboard with the old makeup. I am tall with strong feaures, but rather attractive imho! Served me right though as I took it for granted that everyone thought I was beautiful!

unknownrebelbang · 29/03/2007 23:34

I got called a liar a couple of weeks ago.

It was mid-argument, and the bloke who did it couldn't eat his words quick enough, and apologised profusely but I was deeply offended.

He also lost the argument....

When pregnant with DS (aged 37 - me, not DS) a colleague said to me "I bet you wish you'd done this 10 years ago when you were young".

To which I replied, "well, yes, but 10 years ago I was going out with a bloke who was almost as big a tosser as you".

margo1974 · 29/03/2007 23:39
When I was on the phone to a customer at work and he said in reply to a question "only if I can crawl on your back afterwards"
  1. "You know, for a big girl, you sure have a fit arse"
  1. "You're pregnant aren't you?"
I got asked this 3 times before having children
minkybiscuit · 29/03/2007 23:41

I have been called a 'gypsy whore' by a drunk bloke who didnt want to pay for his ice-cream!! This was on Blackpool prom not suprisingly. It quite tickled me actually

Also, dressed as a bunny girl for a fancy dress party with tight black satin basque-y type affair blond wig, contact lenses etc (I am dark haired/eyed) - my dh gran's said I reminded her of that woman off the telly.... that's it - Vanessa Feltz! Lucky for her she's old.....

Hillary · 29/03/2007 23:41

I was in a clothes store a couple of days ago and picked up a lovely skirt, really elegant a woman said to me "oh there's no point you wearing that, you are far too skinny it would swamp you, i'd stick to trousers if I were you" really upset me as alot of you know I'v got problems with food and really didn't need that

margo1974 · 29/03/2007 23:43

Me "You're supposed to say that I look blooming"

DH "You are... You're blooming FAT!"

Oh god, time to get angry again

The ones that stick in my mind:

  1. When I was lying in a pool of blood coming round from the general anaesthetic after having ds1 (24 hours in labour after 6 months in a wheelchair and 6 weeks in hospital, then he was taken away to intensive care and I was rushed to theatre and had blood transfusion etc, 200 stitches) the BITCH of a midwife I asked to let me see my baby said I had to walk to the neonatal unit instead of dh taking me in the wheelchair. I told her that I hadn't walked for 6 months, was caked in blood, recovering from a GA and still felt very ill. She said:

"You've got a baby to think of now, it's not all about you any more".

  1. School nurse when I was 17. I had attempted suicide once and been self-harming for several years, was very reliant on this woman and a couple of the teachers, I was at boarding school, had an unbearable home life and was only just about keeping my head above water. This school nurse used to give me double shots of whisky and handfuls of Kalms to make me sleep. I weighed about 6.5 stone when I left school (I'm 5'9). I remember after an emotional confrontation with her when I was feeling desperate and alone and angry, she SCREAMED at me down the corridor "You don't know the MEANING of friendship!!! You can't DO relationships!!!". It took me years to get over that. I thought she was right.

  2. My mother, the morning after I was sent home from boarding school after slashing my wrists aged 14. When I arrived home that night, totally shocked and bemused, she had a friend with her and they were pissed (she wasn't usually much of a drinker then, she must have been upset). She made me take the bandage off and she and her friend had a good old chuckle over the slash marks. My mother said "You had a good few goes at it, didn't you?". The next morning, she called the school back (spoke to my housemistress) and said "Greensleeves is fine now, she's looking forward to coming back today". My housemistress (who had hugged and cried over me the day before) gave her short schrift and said I needed to be at home for a while longer. So that afternoon, when I was crying in my room, my mother put "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on full blast, dragged me downstairs by my hair and screamed "How do you think I feel? I love your father!!" (she divorced him whe I was 5). She then proceeded to tell me how selfish and evil I was for attention-seeking by self-harming, because if she and my stepfather ever wanted to adopt another child they would probably be turned down because of me and my manipulative attention-seeking.

Oh dear the crap is flowing out of me like water at the moment. I'm going to post it rather than delete it though, I hope nobody minds - it's a bit like sealing it in a balloon and then ceremoniously popping it

littleEasterlapin · 29/03/2007 23:49

Fucking hell, Greeny.

We love you. Don't stop posting, get it out. Of course we don't mind. Post about it all, namechange if you need to, we are all here to help.

Carmenere · 29/03/2007 23:50

Jaysus Greensleeves that is pretty heavy stuff. Better out than in though. Poor you.

Greenleeves · 29/03/2007 23:56

I'm a bit of a mess tonight, guys. I'm not normally like this, honest.

Hillary · 29/03/2007 23:57

Bless you Greeny, better to let it out than let it brew inside, we are here for you sweet .x.

margo1974 · 29/03/2007 23:58

I was surprised on the other thread Greenie, let alone what you've just posted.

I can't believe people are so insensitive

littleEasterlapin · 29/03/2007 23:58

Greeny, you do what you need to do . I hope it is cathartic.

I have to go to bed now, but am thinking of you (not in bed YKWIM!)

By the way, not being flippant or making light, but where is your S, green leeves?

Greenleeves · 30/03/2007 00:00

lapin (I really like you btw, I was a presumptuous newbie too, have only been here a year!)

My "s" I dropped in an attempt to be all verdant and springy - I tried Greenshoots but no-one got it

littleEasterlapin · 30/03/2007 00:02

Ohhh, sorry, I didn't realise you were being verdant, I just thought you couldn't type!

Sleep well, hon x

Greenleeves · 30/03/2007 00:02

I am really hurting actually, I thought I had got over all this stuff, but I don't feel good at all

PuppyDogsTails · 30/03/2007 00:07

Oooh greeny I am feeling for you. Are you with people, I know I would be in tears and v v sad after typing all that
big hugs

Greenleeves · 30/03/2007 00:07
