Didn’t have time to do this before , but as I have some time thought I would do a AMA about my housekeeper.

Is she Mexican?

plims · 12/10/2026 17:52

Weird. Why is that remotely interesting?

PoppieCock · 12/10/2026 17:53

I have a sink in my kitchen.

I must remember to do an AMA when I have time.

do you write this on every thread that you don’t find interesting? You must be busy!

Weirdpig · 12/10/2026 17:55

How many hours a week, what size house, what do they do that is beyond what a cleaner usually does?

Perhaps you should get a housekeeper so you have enough time to do an AMA on your sink?

ShutupLwren · 12/10/2026 18:10

How much do you pay her?

Moveoverdarlin · 12/10/2026 18:13

How much is your house worth?
what do you do for a living?

Strange question, no

What exactly does she do? Is she just a glorified cleaner or does she do tidying, laundry, cooking etc. What do you do?

Yet you still found the time to comment , your sink can’t be very interesting.

Why turn mean when you don’t get the attention you asked for in the AMA.

I want to hear more about the sink…I have a black quartz one set into the wood worktop and I love it. Tell me more about yours @PoppieCock

Was there a time when you didn't have a housekeeper? If so, why did you decide to get one?
Male, female? Does he/she arranges routine for washing windows, replacing bedding, pillows, arranges gardener, cleaner? Basically, do you initiate, or your housekeeper?
Do you have a pet? Is he/she in charge of the pet?
Do you have children?
Is it a housekeeper living-in or not?
Do you live in countryside or in a city/town?
Do you live full time in that property?

She’s a housekeeper, so her tasks vary as far as I’m aware a cleaner cleans.
It’s not set tasks
today arrived made packed lunch’s ensured kids had everything they needed. Uniforms etc
picked me up some medicine as not feeling to great
done the cleaning which includes tidying up
washed and iron clothes tidied wardrobes .
picked up a click and collect order for me .
was home for when the kids arrived I do the main cooking but will make the kids a snack if they are hungry.
tidy away packed lunch thing etc
it varies. On a what is needed basis and I just add on tasks if needed . If I’m going away pack what to pack etc.
I don’t give a list she’s amazing and knows what needs doing .
as for me I work

How much does she get per annum?

Westfacing · 12/10/2026 18:39

Is she a proper full time housekeeper, as in cleaning, laundry, food stocks, bit of cooking etc?

An American friend use to refer to the twice a week cleaner as her Housekeeper!

AuroraBloom · 12/10/2026 18:41

What work do you do that pays enough to afford a housekeeper?

we haven’t always had a housekeeper we had a cleaner and nanny when kids were younger. She’s a she and yes she organises and sorts out everything regarding the house . If things need replacing depending on what it is . If it’s a bed pillow , cutlery etc
she would just pick it up when they need replacing. If it was something like furnishing I would choose. Yes I have a cat and a dog and yes she looks after them feeding , cleaning , she does not live in and we live semi rural, we live here full time but are away most weekends. And away for the summer holidays.

If you are in the UK, how do you find such a person? Have you had the same one for your children’s whole lives?
