OP, there are lots of very judgy posts on her and lots of assumptions, but honestly you do you. Sounds like you're working towards getting your children a good life. If you lived in a 5 bedroom mansion paid for with family wealth then there would be very different set of replies on here.

I'm from a big family. There was never enough attention or affection to go round, and I had two parents! I fell through the cracks.
How can you ensure that your children feel supported, listened to and cared for? I appreciate that it's got to be tough on your own, however, the children didn't ask for this.

Sadly the op has got herself in to thousands and thousands of pounds with no idea what she is going to do next with it and nothing on the horizon.

All very well but expecting the state to feed, clothe and house you for having these children is a bit rich. In the olden days you’d starve literally with no benefits, be in the poor house or like my nana, her elder daughter was put in children’s homes and fostered out by her (my nana). The father being an ex criminal and his family in the USA meant he and them were no use to help out, my nana is British.

You can surely see the difference between someone self supporting 7 kids with their own money and someone having kids that the taxpayer pays to raise? It’s blindingly obviously different!

And no I don’t think having that many kids is a good idea anyway - you can’t spread yourself that thinly as a parent as other posters have said.
