Depends on what kind of life you want to offer them. We’d love a third but nursery is £1500/child/month and that’s just the beginning.

Look I think you have a right to be annoyed but either you are also bringing in a salary or you don’t work and therefore don’t have childcare costs. I would think a second should be affordable in these circumstances but understand a third wouldn’t be but presumably also depends on your other outgoings.

Stop saying this like it’s a justification. Everyone’s take home pay covers living costs. Most people don’t have £6300 a month take home pay. The fact that some of the UC pays for rent doesn’t make the number less huge.

I doubt my benefits stop you having another child. I am sure you can have another with lifestyle changes etc.

The op sounds like a nice woman who's doing her best....I just think it's really sad that any woman nowadays would choose to live like this. Sounds like a really stressful difficult life to me....and just so unnecessary to live like this. We have far more choices today than women in previous generations but there are still women who go like lambs to the slaughter towards the most hard life. There’s no way that with that amount of money coming in each month OP is even close to approaching the poverty line, she is extremely well off, with the equivalent income of someone who is a top 3% income earner. She has more money coming into her home than 97% of the rest of people living in the UK. No one is saying she should be on the poverty line but it is galling that taxpayer money is enabling her being wealthy.
