What do you think about it mainly only being available to rich people?

3luckystars · 13/08/2025 16:07

Over what time period did you lose it?

Well done. Do you have a lot of loose skin and are your finding it hard to get used to your new body?

The price is a shame, but I’m on minimum wage and I manage it each month. I view it as an investment in my health.

I’ve lost 7 stone since last August - I’ve just passed my one year anniversary. I’ve not noticed much loose skin yet, but I still have another 4 to 5 stone to lose. I have, however, noticed that my fat is a lot “looser” and my thighs clap as I walk now

Yes and your food bill must be way lower too. Is it? I spend so much on food.

I’ve found it’s remained about the same, but what I’m buying is a lot better. I tend to shop locally now - my local greengrocer, butcher and bakery. I’m aiming to go low to no UPF

congratulations on your hard work!
how did you ensure you didn’t lose muscle? I started it a month ago and am concerned about this.

I don’t think I had a lot of muscle to begin with. I’m at a stage now where I’m starting to look at resistance training, and I’ve always stayed on top of protein intake. I aim for 80-100g a day

Have your clinicians confirmed this is possible?

ACPC · 13/08/2025 16:14

What does it actually do? Stop you feeling hungry? Or does it make you crave healthier foods? I can easily eat when I'm not even hungry so not sure it can help me. Ive only got 2 stone to lose but it just won't shift.

Yes. I’m with Oushk and they support long term maintenance. I’m also not blind to the fact that they are developing more and more drugs to bring to market.

My appetite has totally changed. I’m consciously making an effort to eat healthier, but it dims your appetite amazingly.

Do you still enjoy food?

More so than I did before! I put more effort into cooking, I can enjoy it but stop when I feel full and eat without guilt.

Does it dull your mood/happiness? I’ve got a few friends on it and they feel meh all the time, like the world has lost its shine but at the same time happy that they are slimmer.

I’ve found the opposite! I’m so much happier than I was before I started. I think because I’ve lost so much weight, I’m eating better and I’m moving more, I’m a lot happier. I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been

Why do you think you need to be on it for life? Once you’ve reached your goal weight, why not wean yourself off it and keep eating “normal” amounts of food.

I’ve come to the conclusion that my appetite was fundamentally broken before. I would try and try, but I just couldn’t. No matter what I did. It wouldn’t work - even with all the will in the world.

Im about to start this soon once I've been approved. Can you give me any advice of what to expect in the first few months and if any things may help to have on hand in the house ready?
Also, interested to know how have you coped with being on it and working? Im worried I will keep being sick and have a bad belly 😂 toilets at my work are small and not private at all 😬

I’ve genuinely had very few side effects. The first few weeks I struggled with some nausea, but was never sick. I was constipated for a while, but focused on hydration and high fibre and was absolutely fine.

i know of at least seven people who have started it because of the success I’ve had, and I’ve told them all the same thing. Take it of an evening, when you have no plans the next day. It helps you suss out if you’ll have any side effects

Can I just pop on here to say massive well done to you, you must feel and look so much better and your confidence increased. Have you changed your wardrobe to flatter your new figure ?

Thank you!!

I’ve slowly phased things out - I’ve gone from a wardrobe full of size 28 items to items from 16-22. I’m keeping hold of my old comfy jeans for as long as possible, because my size 18 jeans err on the side of being a little too tight for comfort when they’re washed. It sounds stupid, but wearing jeans that are tight gives me a lot of anxiety - I feel like I’m transported to the days where I was tying on size 28 and they were tight and uncomfortable. But I’m wearing a lot of things I never would before. My wardrobe for my upcoming holiday features multiple sleeveless dresses, which id never wear before!

But it sounds like your eating habits have changed fundamentally over this journey. Why could that not continue?

Namechangedagain999 · 13/08/2025 16:40

I’ve been on it since June. I have lost 1.5 stone. I was bmi at the start but with high blood pressure and cholesterol and heart echo. I only told a couple of people one of whom turned out to be on it as well. She is very very critical of me because ‘I shouldn’t have been on it’ as she was much heavier than me even though she doesn’t have any comorbid conditions and I do. I found it’s best to never speak of it. Ps - it’s an amazing life change for me though.

Potentially they could - obviously if some damning evidence comes out and says you must come off it, I would. But for me the benefits of being on it are huge. I’d transition down to a lower dose, but I think for me, it’s best I stay on it.
