My child was in a S Club Juniors, ask me anything

In 2001, my child auditioned for a CBBC show called ‘S Club Search’ and got a place in a child pop group who initially were meant to support S Club 7 on a one time support gig basis. This band was called S Club Juniors, later known as S Club 8.

The band ended up taking off and we basically had to sign or children away to Simon Fuller’s management to release a single. The kids were given tutors and chaperones, and spent most of their time in hotels (the ones London based stayed either their parents) or on the road. After that, they went on tour and I only saw my child once every couple of months. It was brutal but I knew that’s what they wanted to do.

they released two albums and the second one didn’t do that well, Simon Fuller tried them on a TV show called I Dream, however that also tanked. My child will admit that themselves. They all got dropped when aged 14-17. He said they had grown out of their roles a bit.

Now they are in their late thirties and trying to get back into the entertainment industry fully but it’s difficult. They’ve never quite got over their time in the band. They released music but it never really went anywhere. They would never say so, but it doesn’t help them that two of their fellow band members went on to become big stars, both were in a chart topping girl band and now are TV presenters.

their band (minus the two still-successful members) were meant to reunite for a TV show a long while ago, but for various reasons it didn’t happen. When S Club reunited, S Club juniors didn’t get asked to reunite as there was ‘no call’ for it and only a few were up for reuniting. (My child, and another boy and girl member)

they are still acquaintances with S club 7 and went to Paul Cattermoles funeral.

I know my (now adult) child doesn’t regret the choices they made as a child, but feels sad as an adult.

Hi, sorry but most of them are either v private people (eg Hannah) relatively well known (everyone else) and any photos from 2025 they’re happy to share will be on their (public) social media. This is just for Q&A from me and my child.

Rochelle Frankie Jay and Aaron are all over social media but like you said I can’t find Hannah Stacey’s is private Daisy’s is private and Calvin hasn’t posted for years which is a shame. It’d just be interesting to see what they all look like as adults now in 2025 but I understand if they’re private about it

I know that Stacey does accept “generally anyone” on her insta (cecefranks) - she had a stalker a while back and she privatised it so she could manually reject this person who went by the same kind of username every time.

RE Calvin, if you pop on to his tagged photos on his insta his brother Jamie and his mates often tag him in stuff, there’s photos from this year.

I found a private account but doubt she’d accept strangers no if it says private account? That’s awful about Stacey having a stalker I hope she’s ok and it was dealt with!

Daisy doesn’t post on her private social media anymore either.

Her public insta is daisyshelvey_mua but she doesn’t post there much either. I remember asking and her telling me she was too busy with the kids.

Yeah on that one she last posted in 2022 it’s a shame as Rochelle and Frankie are very public and post all the time but unfortunately weren’t my favourite members hahaha! So it’s gutting there’s no way to catch what they’re all up to as adults as they’re the ones I’d want to see! Tell daisy to get posting, well all of them who don’t hahaha!

F + R have private social media too, they get around it by using false names/ profile pictures of other people/ keeping private messages from strangers turned off. A lot of them have had it tough with stalkers, not just Stacey.

Even as grown adults?? Yeah was going to say Frankie and Rochelle’s are very public but I guess they’ll want their own private ones to use away from the public eye! Makes sense! Never understood stalking. a famous person is just a human like everybody else at the end of the day

It’s a shame you can’t expand on all that as that’d be really interesting to hear about and how it was dealt with or how is affected them as people! As it’s something that isn’t touched on really aside from the bigger celebrities I saw the Jennifer Aniston one recently on the news and that was CREEEEEPY!!! I think it was her anyway?

the ig account that linked to the calvin post, has now been deleted, I won’t dox op, but I doubt a woman born after the s club 8 members in the mid 90s and on an s club 8 fan club is the mother of an s club 8 member, unless miracles are happening. Just an… enthusiastic superfan?

Such a shame it its all been fake. Maybe MN can verify the user and confirm they are genuine and not fake (or not as the case may be).

And if it is fake somebody should let a band member know there’s misinformation going around

Surely though the fact this is so public would deter someone from making it up as anyone can access this thread and it would be pretty easy to ask eachother ‘hey is this your mum?”

Although one would hope if the op is genuine they’ll come back and clear up the confusion over the Instagram profile or offer some other proof that they’re real.
