Well done on the weight loss but your diet is not healthy and not something people should really strive towards

bigdecisionstomake · 21/02/2023 17:23

Is the baby the good looking bloke from work's? 😄

CharlotteOwlFace · 21/02/2023 17:24

Oh and drinking loads of Diet Coke not great either

Your eating sounds disordered to me

ChesterDrawsStickmen · 21/02/2023 17:24

Did you feel hungry all/most of the time? If so were magazines really enough to get through that?!

Did you get together with the bloke from work? 😁

Also did you have kids at the time of this diet and exercise regime?

doadeer · 21/02/2023 17:24

If you mean a pre packaged beef sandwich I would imagine that has very low nutritional content as it's processed meat and processed bread. Also quite high salt typically.

Fibre rich foods are vegetables, pulses, seeds, legumes, brown rice etc.

If you listen to Giles Yeo he talks about the best diet being fibre rich, protein rich and low sugar.

Well done on your weight loss but I'm sorry OP this diet is really unhealthy. Diet Coke? Do you know how bad that is for your health. Missing lunch for a chocolate bar so again more sugar. I'm sure your aim was to loose all that weight but I would also like to be healthy inside than just skinny on the outside.

Fair enough - you've probably got better knowledge than me of the nutritional value of pre packaged food

What did you used to eat before you started your diet?
What did you eat when you had reached your target weight, to maintain? (Before getting pregnant) - did you continue to count calories?

Is the good looking bloke interested in a new job?

Seasonofthewitch83 · 21/02/2023 17:27

I mean...this is diet culture isnt it.

OP lost weight with an unhealthy diet and everyone congratulates her for being slimmer.

OP - please exercise caution with this thread.

Yes I agree with you. Especially on the Diet Coke

Good for you on reaching your goal. It was take more than Take A Break to keep me on track with that diet though

Thank you !!

Yes - typical day - breakfast of beef sandwich and tea with semi skimmed milk - 600 cals.

Coffee from machine - 40 cals so 640. Chocolate bar Dairy Milk - 250 - so now total of 890 cals.
Packet salad from supermarket 300 cals for supper so now total 1190. Packet of pre packed fruit from supermarket 140 so now total of 1330

Well done, and I agree on the 1200 calories but I also agree that's not a healthy or sustainable diet.

I'm losing weight at 1stn per month currently and here is my typical day on 1200 calories:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs made with butter, mushroom, spinach

Lunch: prawn and vegetable stir fry

Snack: full fat plan yoghurt with raspberries

Dinner: chicken curry with a wrap and salad

Is the good looking bloke interested in a new job?

Before starting diet I used to binge eat loads of rubbish. Low self esteem possibly 'functioning' depression ?
To maintain no I didn't actively count cals but by that time I had a fairly good idea of amount of cals in food generally'

Good looking bloke may well be interested in a new job Grin

Yes - typical day - breakfast of beef sandwich and tea with semi skimmed milk - 600 cals.

Protein in the beef and milk, fibre in the bread if it was wholemeal

Coffee from machine - 40 cals so 640. Chocolate bar Dairy Milk - 250 - so now total of 890 cals.

Yes this is rubbish - lunch could have been better, and it would have been on the days OP got a package sandwich.

Packet salad from supermarket 300 cals for supper so now total 1190. Packet of pre packed fruit from supermarket 140 so now total of 1330

Salad and fruit - lot of goodness and fibre. Possibly excess sugar in the fruit, so could have been something with protein instead.

Overall - not too bad, could have been better but okay-ish.

Scammell · 21/02/2023 17:33

@Justforlaffs - he's good looking but not from work

Are you eating healthier meals now that you are pregnant and are you able to set a healthy example for your children or do you still eat crap and congratulate yourself on being more desirable to men?

If it worked for you OP that's fantastic. No, not for everyone and not the most nutritious but I think we all have to do what works for ourselves.

Obviouspretzel · 21/02/2023 17:43

Well done on achieving your goals. I'm not going to rubbish the diet , I don't personally agree with it, but it worked for you and that's your business.

Would be curious about your energy levels on that diet though? Also, the protein seems super low to aid recovery from the gym, did you find it hard to recover when exercising?

StalkedByASpider · 21/02/2023 17:43

But I imagine OP didn't have a salad every day - and she's said it was only ready meals that she ate. They're full of complete crap (sorry OP). I also don't think there would be anywhere near enough protein in a prepackaged beef sandwich to fulfil her daily requirement.

Plus OP said she drunk tons of Diet Coke - which is godawful stuff.

I appreciate you're trying to point out the positive elements but overall this diet really isn't advisable.

As I said before, genuinely feel a bit bad criticising the OP as it's a real achievement but it's worrying seeing how many PP think this is aspirational. Good health should be the goal, not just a slim body.

Left · 21/02/2023 17:43

Well done for staying so focussed!

Did you work full time whilst following this diet, and how physical was your work?

I find lowering my calorie intake really affects my concentration and performance at work so am interested to know if you had this issue, and if so what did you do to combat it?

mathanxiety · 21/02/2023 17:47

Would you say your current diet is a healthy one? Balanced with veg, fruit, protein, calcium, fibre? Or is it a case of adding up calories and a chocolate bar is as good as a piece of low fat cheese as long as it's the same number of calories?
