What do you eat?

Can you take us through a typical day of food?

Did you include coffee/tea - other drinks in your calories?

Milky4 · 21/02/2023 17:03

Sorry cross posted. You answered this.

I admit - not always lunch - no. Sometimes a chocolate bar would suffice. What I wanted to highlight there was that it's the calorie total that was important for me so sometimes I'd skip lunch and supper but rarely breakfast.
Most days I'd have lunch though and it would be prepackaged sandwiches

Might seem like a silly question but did you tone up well and did how soon did you notice your body getting stronger/firmer from the exercise?

Wow, that's....not a great diet. But good for you for achieving the weightloss.

StalkedByASpider · 21/02/2023 17:11

OK, I'll be the one to say it.

I don't think basing a weight loss plan on solely ready meals and prefaced sandwiches is a great idea. They're unhealthy for lots of different reasons - fine now and then, but not as your sole dietary intake. And lots of skipped lunches, or sometimes having a chocolate bar for lunch. Yikes.

Really sorry OP, I'm honestly not trying to piss on your parade. It's still an incredible achievement to lose all of that weight and to have the discipline to stick to it, so genuinely - congratulations. I just hope that others don't see this as some kind of aspirational idea because it's really unhealthy.

Good for you losing the weight however I’m not sure I could live like this. I eat around 1200/1300 Cals a day too (until I’ve lost another stone and then il up it to maintain) and my day goes:

bf: nothing, sometimes a banana but I’ve never eaten breakfast
lunch: chicken or ham salad with a boiled egg and loads of different veggies (400)
dinner: home cooked meal from scratch using low fat meat/fish lots of veggies and some sort of carbs (usually baked potato or home cooked chips) (600)
snacks are usually fruit totalling 100 cals and I have 50 cals of semi skimmed milk in coffee and a 50 cal yoghurt for dessert. If I fancy a bit extra il have a 100 cal snack bar or bag of crisps or a banana or something.

You don’t seem to be getting much food for your calories?

Tbh - your middle paragraph - I completely agree with you in an ideal world. The one advantage my diet did have tho was very accurate calculation of calories
Also LOADS of Diet Coke. Can help aid weight loss on a diet but very bad for tooth enamel

doadeer · 21/02/2023 17:14

Great for the weight loss but I'd hope your diet has evolved now as what you were eating is quite unhealthy and really low fibre and protein.

I'd rather be a few pounds overweight but have a health focused diet. But appreciate others may have different approach.

AdoraBell · 21/02/2023 17:16

Bloody well done 👍 can you say how are you maintaining?

Scammell · 21/02/2023 17:16

@Justforlaffs agreed - I don't get a lot of food for my calories because tbh I don't bother with things like 'low fat' options - I stick to cals stated on the packet

Yes agreed I could've been healthier - but then beef sarnies - fibre protein? But j in did eat too much in the way of empty cals - agreed
