Hello!

I know when I was considering having surgery done I researched everywhere for peoples experiences and would have found an AMA helpful

I had a 360 Tummy tuck, lipo, breast lift and implant and my arms done in Turkey
So basically a brand new body!

I'm happy to answer questions if anyone wants to ask anything

As ever, the NHS left to pick up the pieces because someone wanted to save a few quid. This must cost the NHS £1000s.

I didn't cost the NHS thousands.

If someone had cosmetic surgery privately within the UK and had a problem they would be treated by the NHS in an emergency situation.
I had antibiotics from the surgeon I started on his instruction, an appointment with a nurse at my GP surgery to change a dressing which I was told was less cost and time vs me cutting or burning my hand and needing NHS help
I lost the weight myself so no weight loss surgery cost or prescription diet pills.
My mental and physical health has improved massively so that's a huge saving to the NHS also.

Going overseas for surgery is controversial I know that, but I did my research, the clinic wasn't the cheapest option out there, I has a good experience and amazing results I'm very happy

You’re past 6 months now, OP? How is it now?

I feel amazing thankyou for asking, my scars are looking amazing too, fading nicely.
Everything is as it should be, I still have swelling but that's normal.
My mental and physical health is better than its been for years.
I have absolutely no regrets at all

Holy moly. Well done for the weight loss that got you to the "before" stage.

Thankyou.
At my heaviest I was just under 17 stone and I'm only 5"2.
I was constantly ill and my mental health was v poor.
It's changed my life losing the weight and having the skin removal surgery

This is all over the news today. Just heard it on Radio4. Dangerous. Don't do it folks

ODFOx · 21/03/2023 15:14

I think that it is worth pointing out that the OP went to Turkey for cosmetic surgery after she had lost a lot of weight.
Today's BBC article is about weight loss surgery (gastric sleeve) which is a very different issue.

I'm glad that you are still pleased with your results OP.

Yes it's completely different surgery with completely different risk factors, I'm not sure that I would have had a gastric band/ sleeve overseas but I didn't carry out any research into that or look into risks and statistics related to the weight loss surgery.

I really want a mini tummy tuck or lipo but cannot afford uk prices

I'm a bit scared of going to turkey though with the association with botch jobs etc. Altho my friend had a beautiful nose job there

Would you mind pming me the name of the clinic please op ? X

Would you be willing to post some pics of you now and the scars you're left with?

I've lost 13 stone and am seriously considering having all my excess skin removed (my arms aren't too bad but the tops of my legs are horrendous).

Whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy · 10/04/2023 20:49

Hi
Can you tell me the same of the company and surgeon please?

and how are you feeling now?

Turkeytummytuck · 09/10/2023 15:48

I didn't see these messages, I'm doing really well thankyou for asking
I still have some swelling in some places but this is normal with this kind of surgery, especially having so much in one go.
I'm still having lymphatic massage which is helping.
I have no regrets about having surgery. I've healed really well, this is one of my scars ( on my under arm)
Some of the scarring on my breasts is still slightly pink but surgeon is more than happy with where I'm at just over a year on.
A few people asked which company I went with, it was Ace Medical in Antayla.

I've tried finding the clinic as I am going turkey thought it would be nice to visit them anyway as I am out there

Could you share a link???? I keep finding a dentist in turkey under ace

Amazing results! Wishing the same for myself one day !!!

VanillaCaramel · 29/11/2023 14:08

I'm so impressed with your result and a massive well done on your weight loss. Thank you for sharing and encouraging others to thoroughly research their options.
Time to enjoy your new body now. Clothes shopping and self styling is going to be so exciting.

Turkeytummytuck · 29/11/2023 21:53

It's this company. Based in Antayla. Its run by 2 British people.
They have a Facebook group that is very active and loads of testimonials on there.
All I can say is research, research and research more.
And thankyou for your kind comments. It really has changed my life.

@Turkeytummytuck Great to see the work you’ve had done =fab result. I could do with having the same as a I’ve lost over 14 stones (had a gastric sleeve in Turkey 2 years ago) but I’m too scared-it feels like this would be more of a shock to my body than the sleeve was (even though I’m EXTREMELY saggy and wrinkly !)

stillholly · 30/11/2023 01:29

@Heyhoherewegoagain

Can I ask how you're getting on with the sleeve in terms of lifestyle and weight loss? Are you glad you had it? Hope you don't mind me asking out of interest.

coxesorangepippin · 30/11/2023 01:54

Good for you op, you look amazing

Heyhoherewegoagain · 30/11/2023 08:38

@stillholly hand on heart the best thing I’ve ever done! It’s improved every area of my life=mental health, physical health, I’m not grumpy any more😂
I’ve had an absolute textbook journey with my sleeve, I did everything I was told by the medics during and since my recovery amd I’ve had no problems at all. I’ve gone from size28/30 to 12/14, which for my height 5’7 amd age 50s, is absolutely perfect and comfortable. I eat what I like, just small portions. It’s been life changing (and no I’m not on commission, but I probably should be 😂)

Happy to chat off site about it

Hi, still feeling fantastic thankyou for asking and absolutely no regrets about having surgery.
I've considered other things since I had this done but I've decided against it. I still can't believe I have a new body though.

One thing I didn't really consider is the psychological changes. I knew physical recovery would be hard but I underestimated how difficult it would be to get my head round things. I still see myself in my head as the old me with the loose skin, I wake up on a morning 2 years down the line and forget my loose skin on my stomach is gone and that my boobs aren't going to be under my arm in bed.
But absolutely no regrets at all.

That's so interesting - like your mind is playing catch up with your body!

Would it be terrible to ask for how the belly scars are looking at this stage?

Again, I really am grateful for you sharing.

It is definitely a case of my mind not adjusting to the body yes!
The scarring on my stomach, hips and back is pretty much invisible now.
( the scar went all the way around my lower body, it's hidden well in underwear anyway.

God I would love this, but also want my inner thighs doing! Thanks for the thread!

I haven’t RTFT so I don’t know if anyone else has replied to you, but I’ve had my thighs done (14 years ago) so happy to answer any questions (not wanting to derail your post @Turkeytummytuck !).

Recovery was HELL
