Hi there, folks.

As the title says, I'm here to respond to questions in good nature.

For a bit of background information, I'm 30 years old, a trans activist out of necessity (being the first 'out' trans person in numerous spaces, which didn't have any rules or regulations before, but have since been commended for ease of process by some new trans members or trans members who have been referred by me), have been 'passing' for about three years, now.

At work we have female and male changing rooms. Does this mean that a man that has decided they are now a woman but wants to keep they’re willy can come into my changing room?

Yes. Also important is that many men who transition later in life (often after fathering children) are heterosexual and are aroused by the thought of themselves as women. They often start by cross dressing before going the whole way (which isn't really the whole way because as already mentioned they usually keep their male genitalia). Really not the sort of people you want in a female changing room.

BackyardChickens · 07/01/2020 12:25

Thank you Only and Old for explaining.

We need a third toilet/changing room. I really would not appreciate a penis in my changing room at work. I would be so self conscious.

That is scary and grim!

I think the third space (for people who want to be whatever they say they are) is the solution that makes most sense really?

In my last post I should have said "Yes, if your company has been advised by Stonewall that this is what they have to do to be 'trans inclusive'." The Equality Act 2010 says that such men can be excluded, but this is generally not being applied in practice.

RhinoskinhaveI · 07/01/2020 12:28

I wonder if I could get aroused at the thought of myself as a man?
Hmmm?

WellErrr · 07/01/2020 12:30

Oh dear.

Anyone else think the OP is trying to get the whole thread pulled now so the garbled incoherence that is their brand of trans ideology doesn't get to stand?

Soen · 07/01/2020 12:33

Ask Me Anything...... it's not playing out too well.

They should rename this thread "I'll pick and choose what I respond to". Certainly seems the case here.

FamilyOfAliens · 07/01/2020 12:33

Why would MNHQ pull it now?

In fact I think it should be nominated for Classics Grin

RhinoskinhaveI · 07/01/2020 12:33

So have we learnt anything from this thread?
are we any further forward on the various issues concerning trans people?

OldCrone · 07/01/2020 12:34

Sideris Which part(s) of which post(s) of mine do you consider to be lies? I may have got the % of 'transwomen' who retain their male genitalia wrong (someone else put the figure slightly lower than my estimate), but I did qualify it with 'I think'.

I have tried to be accurate with my information and make clear when I am quoting something from memory (so may not be quite accurate), and I am happy for people to correct me in these cases. So please do this if there is anything which you think I have got wrong.

loserssaywhat · 07/01/2020 12:34

I think we’re quite a bit further backward myself.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 07/01/2020 12:35

Before you start accusing anyone of telling lies about that particular type of transwoman, OP, you might want to cast an eye over the Transwidows threads in FWR. Threads by actual women - many of them - who have lived that exact experience. And then you might want to apologise to OldCrone.

RhinoskinhaveI we have learnt the sum total of fuck all.

theflushedzebra · 07/01/2020 12:36

What OldCrone says is perfectly correct - there is ample evidence for this - both on social media, and via medical research eg. Blanchard.

TRAs don't like women drawing attention to this - hence the OP's (deletable) response to OldCrone.

FamilyOfAliens · 07/01/2020 12:37

OP, this is the internet. There is no personal space Hmm

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 07/01/2020 12:37

do you not grasp personal space? Do you not understand when you are unwelcome? Do you not understand that I do not want you here?

O the irony!!

Now apply that logic to men in women's spaces, OP. Or is it only you who gets to define who you have in your space?

Sideris · 07/01/2020 12:37

I will not apologize to someone who's spreading the lies that a) most trans women are heterosexual, b) over 90% of trans women have not had bottom surgery, and c) that trans women get off to the thought of being women.

Yep, it’s where I figured we’re at.
