@Ilikeyourhairyhands very apt user name there! Grin

Yes, I expect so - I quoted it (more fool me!) before it was deleted.

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:12

pallisers truthfully none

not having a go, TakeABreak, but then you have no idea how a family would react if it did happen. I don't for a minute think that of all the traveller people you know, not one of them would have enjoyed university or been an excellent professor, doctor, nurse, teacher or IT professional etc. It seems to me that there are a very limited set of opportunities presented as acceptable to traveller children. Maybe I am picking it up wrong though?

ScreamingValenta · 10/07/2018 17:18

Hi TakeABreak2. How do you manage to limit the amount of stuff you own so it will fit in a caravan - do you have a system to avoid it building up?

SPOFS · 10/07/2018 17:19

Hi OP.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:20

well i agree with you but i dont think they would cut contact for wanting to go to university tbh.. i do know a girl who is going to uni next year they probably wouldnt let then go move away to uni? because girls arent allowed to drink before marriage sex before marriage ect and to my knowlege alot of that happens on uni campus- am i wrong?

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:22

screamingvalenta because we dont use the toilet we use that for storage usually for dirty washing/cleaning ect.. kitchen is quite compact so fit everything in there toys are in a shed outside apart from a few small ones and basically i go by a rule that is it doesnt get worn/used in a month or so it goes in the binGrin husband isnt keen on it but has to live with it or use his stuff more lol

Can't think of anything just yet but just wanted to say this is so interesting, thank you, Oo

Caribbeanyesplease · 10/07/2018 17:22

Who will tutor your children?

FlippertyJibbit · 10/07/2018 17:22

Op**

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 10/07/2018 17:22

When it comes to university, any girl going would be an adult so her decision to have sex would be hers though wouldn’t it? Her body doesn’t belong to her parents.

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:23

spofa in ten year id like another 2 children with my own yard (a house with trailers in the back that we own) so my children can pull in with us when there married id like a little clothing buisness set up and thats about it really

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:24

pallisers · 10/07/2018 17:24

well it is up to the girl, Takeabreak. I didn't drink or have sex when at university but plenty did. Presumably they do in college too?

Not being allowed to go to university because it might affect the girl's
"virtue" is pretty limiting.

But men don't often go to university either - right? Is that for the same reason?

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:24

carribeanyesplease
i will be tutoring my children maybe eqrlier than most maybe at 7/8

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:26

well we are alot stricter with girls - only allowed one man to sleep with at college they are going to learn i dont know how they could have sex there at uni there living there! i cant answer for anyone else but id let my daughter go to uni but not to live there.. and the men dont go to uni because at that age they usually have a busness set up already

OP posts:
Caribbeanyesplease · 10/07/2018 17:28

Op
Do you honestly think that you have the capability to adequately Home tutor your children. History / geography / sciences / literature?

On the basis of your writing and grammar on this thread, and I’m not being nasty, but it’s no where near up to the standard of someone able to educate their children.

Please reconsider

AudiQ2 · 10/07/2018 17:28

@HaroldsSocalledBluetits Dogs are not dirty unless they're not groomed and looked after properly!!! Hmm

ScreamingValenta · 10/07/2018 17:28

i go by a rule that is it doesnt get worn/used in a month or so it goes in the bin

Sounds like a good rule to live by! I think I might try to do something like this. I hadn't thought of you having the bathroom for storage, but of course you wouldn't want to be using a caravan loo on a permanent basis.

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:29

carribeanyesplease
i wont be doing the tutoring - we will have a tutor hired

OP posts:
Caribbeanyesplease · 10/07/2018 17:29

You left school early and then went to beauty college. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. However it would suggest that you’re perhaps not cut out to teaching?

Caribbeanyesplease · 10/07/2018 17:29

But you said you would be tutoring?

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:30

i agree im not the cleverest but i wont be the one doing the teaching - a private tutor would be

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 17:31

ok my mistake but by your question i took it as in would i be getting my children tutored or leaving them in school - sorrySmile

OP posts:
pallisers · 10/07/2018 17:31

is the private tutor so that your children don't have to go to school and mix with non traveller children?
