Our verdict

The Nuna Trvl lx strikes an excellent balance between portability and performance, especially for city-based parents. First-time mum Hayley put it through its paces on local paths, busy city streets, and even during an international holiday — and found it a breeze to use, thanks in large part to the smooth one-handed fold and front-lock swivel wheels.

At just 7.1kg, it’s lightweight and easy to carry, though not quite as featherlight as the Stokke YOYO 3 (which weighs in at 6.2kg). The puncture-proof tyres and decent suspension hold up well for day-to-day use, offering a smooth and stable ride on pavements and flatter surfaces. While it’s not designed for very rough terrain — the Nuna TRIV Next is a better bet there with its larger wheels and enhanced suspension — the Trvl lx is still versatile enough for most outings. The only drawback? It doesn’t lock when folded, which can make carrying it a bit awkward, but it does come with a handy travel bag, making it a great companion for family trips.

  • Used daily for three months

  • Used as the primary stroller with a four-month-old baby

  • Used on school runs, day trips, caravan holidays and holidays abroad

  • Used on multiple terrains (very effective on grass and most surfaces)

During testing, Hayley scored the stroller on several different factors including: safety, stability, ease of use, comfort, ease of cleaning and value for money.

How easy is the Nuna Trvl lx stroller to assemble?

Super easy! Hayley says, “It took just one of us approximately 10 minutes to assemble the stroller using the instruction manual included in the box. No tools were required- we simply attached the wheels, handlebar and storage basket with no fuss.”

The parts slot in securely with a satisfying click, and the manual features clear, step-by-step images to guide you through the process. Overall, it’s a smooth and simple assembly experience, even for first-time stroller users.

Nuna trvl lx stroller cover

Nuna Trvl lx stroller: how does it look?

At just 52cm wide and weighing 7.1kg, the Trvl lx is one of the most compact and lightweight strollers with impressive all-terrain capability. The updated design features all-wheel suspension, a one-touch brake, and an upgraded wheel profile for smoother manoeuvrability, a more comfortable ride, and increased durability.

It also boasts a taller seat height than many comparable models, which not only offers a better view for your child but leaves ample space in the storage basket below.

Hayley says, “The model we’re testing looks super sleek, and the black colour is easy to keep clean. We love that the fabric is breathable — paired with a Snoozeshade and stroller fan on the bumper bar, it stayed cool even in 30-degree heat.”

Nuna Trvl lx stroller: is it safe and sturdy?

When it comes to safety and stability, the Trvl lx ticks all the right boxes. It features a simple, one-touch rear-wheel braking system that Hayley describes as “extremely secure and reliable,” even when tested on hills, public transport, and a range of surfaces. She adds that the brake is easy to operate, even barefoot — a bonus for holidays or quick poolside stops.

The stroller includes a 3-to-5-point no-rethread harness, making it quick and easy to secure your child as they grow. Plus, Nuna’s MagneTech Secure Snap™ - a self-guiding magnetic buckle, locks automatically into place, making fastening even smoother and more stress-free.

The levelled-up wheel profile offers greater stability and a smoother ride, while the front swivel wheels with lockable function help make uneven terrain easier to manage. Despite its lightweight build, Hayley found the Trvl lx impressively sturdy. “With a three-month-old in the seat, the stroller didn’t even budge when I attached the change bag — once the handlebar attachments were in place, it held up perfectly.”

How comfortable is the Nuna Trvl lx stroller?

Very! Hayley says, “The Trvl lx is absolutely fantastic and very comfortable, we now use it every day and love it!” This stroller scores highly on comfort, both for baby and parent.

The seat is nicely padded and roomy enough to accommodate growing children, while the breathable mesh back helps regulate temperature on warmer days. The fabric itself feels soft and premium — gentle enough for little legs but tough enough to withstand daily use, spills, and snack crumbs.

One of the standout features is the MagneTech Secure Snap™ — a magnetic no-rethread harness that makes buckling your child in so much easier. It clicks together with minimal effort and feels safe and secure, which is a real win when your baby’s squirming or you’re in a rush.

While the Trvl lx doesn’t come with a newborn insert, it’s compatible with Nuna’s PIPA car seats including the PIPA Urbn, so you can use it as a travel system right from birth. If you do plan to use the stroller in its lie-flat mode for a younger baby, you might want to purchase an insert separately for added head and neck support such as the full-length footmuff in the stroller accessory bundle.

What is the Nuna Trvl lx stroller like to use day-to-day?

The Trvl lx is a strong everyday stroller option for parents after a lightweight design that’s easy to use without compromising on comfort or quality. Hayley was especially impressed by how smooth and intuitive it felt to use day-to-day.

One of her favourite features was the leather-look handlebar. While it's not extendable, Hayley says, “It’s very comfortable for myself and my husband who are 5ft 9" and 6ft 2" respectively. Having said this, my mum can also use the stroller perfectly fine and she’s 5ft 5", so I would not exclude it for shorter parents!”

When it comes to steering and manoeuvrability, Hayley gave it a clear 10/10. “Getting up and down curbs is effortless, in and out of the house is easy, and it works well on most surfaces,” she explains. She also praised the front swivel wheels, which made navigating shops and public transport feel seamless. The only places it struggled slightly were “deep gravel and sand due to the thin wheels,” but she added that “because the stroller is so light, it was very easy to either carry it over these surfaces or pull it backwards.”

The storage basket was the only slight let down. Hayley explained, “I can fit our changing bag in the basket but it’s a struggle and nothing else fits in. It’s quite shallow in depth, meaning things aren’t very secure if they’re slightly too big.” Still, she didn’t feel this was a deal-breaker, noting, “The rest of the stroller’s functionality more than makes up for it.”

With a tall seat unit (49cm) allowing for some space underneath, and overall impressive performance, Hayley ultimately switched to using the Trvl lx full-time, saying, “I’ve converted from my bigger travel system due to the ease of steering — it’s just so convenient.”

Nuna Triv lx folded

Nuna Trvl lx stroller: how easy is it to fold?

Folding the Trvl lx is one of its most impressive features — designed with convenience in mind, it folds and unfolds effortlessly using just one hand. This makes it ideal for busy parents juggling a baby, a bag, and everything in between. Hayley adds, “The stroller is extremely easy to fold and unfold using one hand and very lightweight for carrying around with a baby also in hand.”

While she did note that “there’s no lock when folded, which can make it a little tricky to carry up and down stairs due to some movement,” she felt this was a minor downside. For everyday tasks like popping it into the boot, she found the fold “perfect.”

An added bonus? The stroller comes with a handy travel bag, which Hayley found “perfect for keeping the stroller safe when travelling abroad and putting in the aircraft hold.”

To fold the Trvl lx:

  • Make sure the seat is upright and the canopy is pushed back.

  • Press the folding button located on the handlebar while gently pushing the handle forward.

  • The stroller will automatically fold down into a compact, free-standing position.

To unfold the Trvl lx:

  • Release the frame by gently pulling the handle upwards.

  • The frame will pop open and click into place, ready for use.

Nuna Trvl lx stroller: Does it come with accessories?

Yes, the Trvl lx stroller comes with a few accessories that make day-to-day use a little easier. Hayley particularly appreciated the included rain cover, saying it was “super easy to put on, completely covered my son and gives very easy access.” She also noted that it extends over the back of the stroller, which not only keeps children dry but also “keeps bags dry that are hung over the handlebar” – a huge plus for the UK weather!

In terms of travel compatibility, the Trvl lx is travel system ready. It allows you to attach a Nuna PIPA™ series infant car seat directly to the armbar with one click – no adaptors needed. If you prefer using the Nuna ARRA™ Next car seat or Nuna LYTL™ carrycot, these can be attached using the Nuna Trvl series adaptor (sold separately).

Is the Nuna Trvl lx stroller easy to clean?

Yes, Hayley found it very easy to clean during testing. The seat fabric is both durable and wipeable, allowing for quick clean-ups of spills and messes, while the removable seat insert can be taken out and cleaned more thoroughly when needed.

Parents will also appreciate that the materials used are high-quality and don’t stain easily. The leatherette handlebar wipes down well too, which is especially helpful after busy days out or trips to the park.

Is the Nuna Trvl lx stroller is good value for money?

Yes, the Trvl lx offers great value for money, especially if you're looking for a lightweight stroller with long-term versatility. While it's more expensive than some compact options like the Ickle Bubba Aries Autofold, it’s priced in line with premium models such as the Stokke YOYO 3 and delivers similar high-end features.

The Trvl lx is travel system–ready, can be used from birth thanks to its lie-flat recline, and includes adjustable calf support to accommodate growing toddlers. It also has a taller seat height, giving it added longevity as your child grows. While it’s not as sturdy on uneven terrain like the Nuna TRIV Next – which has larger wheels and advanced suspension, it handles a variety of surfaces comfortably — making it a solid all-rounder for city streets, parks, and holidays.

Hayley and her husband found it so reliable and easy to steer that they're now using it as their everyday stroller. Hayley also appreciated how lightweight and foldable it is for travel abroad with her family, which adds to its overall value.
