French luxury brand Bonpoint has teamed up with Stokke YOYO to introduce their new "L'Iconique" print, which features subtle, yet playful cherries in the neutral Bonpoint Beige shade. This exclusive colour is available in both the 0+ newborn pack and the 6+ colour pack, compatible with the latest YOYO³ chassis (it also works with the YOYO²).

Having been awarded the title of “Best overall lightweight stroller” in our best lightweight strollers buyer's guide, the Stokke YOYO³ ticks many boxes for parents and stands out due to its impressive combination of features, including its slim, functional design, easy one-handed fold, five-point harness for safety and padded mesh shoulder strap for comfortable carrying.

Additionally, the stroller is easy to push and compact for everyday use (especially when you’re lugging groceries and your baby’s changing bag or older child’s school bag along too), plus it’s cabin-approved which means it can be taken on the plane and stored in the overhead compartment.

Building on the outstanding performance of the Stokke YOYO³, the Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint elevates this award-winning stroller with its stylish Bonpoint fabric, offering a chic alternative without compromising on functionality.

After testing the stroller with her newborn for a few months, mum of two Jilly loved the charming cherry design as well as its soft, padded cushioning and versatility on daily outings.

She noted, “The quick fold feature is a game changer; it’s easy to get the hang of quickly. I can steer it with one hand, which is essential when I need to lift my daughter out of the stroller while she’s crying, and it navigates busy streets and public transport effortlessly.”

However, she also pointed out a few drawbacks: the stroller is relatively expensive compared to others on the market, the storage basket is still too small—even though it was upgraded to hold 10 kg instead of the 5 kg of the YOYO²—the brake isn’t suitable for open-toed shoes, and the canopy doesn’t provide adequate sun coverage

How we tested the Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint stroller

  • Two months of using the Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint stroller multiple times a week

  • Used for neighbourhood walks, park visits, shopping trips, and visits to friends and family.

  • Taken on public transport including trains and buses

  • Tested with a newborn

During testing, Jilly scored this stroller on a number of different factors including: safety, stability, ease of use, comfort, ease of cleaning and value for money.

“I used the Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint every day for a few months and pretty much walked everywhere, from the streets of London to our local park and fields, along pavements, in shopping centres, and down countless high streets. My husband and I also took it on public transport, including the train and bus. It’s a light, nimble pram that allows me to navigate city life with ease, and we had no issues getting through busy crowds or into shops/restaurants with narrow doorways,” says Jilly.

However, due to its small wheels, Jilly found that the stroller struggled to handle the uneven terrain in the woods.

"I used the stroller on walks in the common near our home, which is quite bumpy and sandy. It didn’t fare well on the very bumpy parts where there was a lot of dried mud. We also tested it out in the summer, so we didn’t get the opportunity to push it through wet, muddy terrain, although given how small the wheels are, I imagine it would likely take a bit of strain,” she adds.

How easy is the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller to assemble?

Jilly found the stroller simple to assemble, although she did use online tutorials and videos to make it easier to install the newborn pack, rather than using the instruction manual.

Overall, it took roughly 30 minutes to set up from start to finish. “One person can definitely set this up on their own and you don’t need any additional tools,” says Jilly.

Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller: how does it look?

Compared to its predecessor, the YOYO², the YOYO 3 x Bonpoint offers several upgrades, including an extended canopy, a ventilation window adjacent to the peek-a-boo window, and an ultra-soft cushion. The newborn pack now features a head support cushion, base fabrics, nest pad and canopy.

Jilly says, “This stroller is stunning! My husband and I love the sleek, sophisticated design of the black-and-white frame. It’s obvious that high-quality, durable materials were used to ensure the stroller is built to last. We opted for the beige Bonpoint newborn pack with its adorable cherry design (which is suitable for both boys and girls in our opinion), and I appreciate how durable yet breathable the fabric feels.”

The new canopy design includes an additional ventilation window, which shares a flap with the peek-a-boo window. The benefit is that I can easily see my daughter while also allowing more airflow into the stroller. However, since the two windows share one flap, you can’t close both at the same time. This means that in colder months, if you close the ventilation window, the peek-a-boo window will remain open. While not a major issue, it could affect naps if your child prefers a darker, fully covered canopy.

The YOYO 3 x Bonpoint also features mesh panels in the seatback beneath the inlay to improve airflow. Keep in mind, though, that you'll still need the newborn or toddler inlay to ensure your child’s comfort.

The wheel size on the YOYO 3 x Bonpoint is larger than average for lightweight strollers, though the suspension remains minimal compared to all-terrain models, particularly at the rear. We do however like the new reflectors on the wheels for better visibility.

Stokke YOYO 3 Bonpoint stroller: is it safe and sturdy?

Yes, there’s no doubt that this stroller is built to last, despite its compact, lightweight design. “The YOYO 3 x Bonpoint feels stable and sturdy while on the move,” says Jilly. “During testing I was able to attach a nappy bag to the front handle without the frame toppling when my baby was both inside and outside the stroller.

I even managed to attach a couple of additional shopping bags on a clip that I added to the stroller. Because the YOYO 3 x Bonpoint is ultra compact, I was expecting it to be quite flimsy and unstable, but it’s definitely robust enough to handle the demands of urban living and travelling,” she adds.

How comfortable is the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller?

Jilly shares, “The YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller is really comfortable, especially with the newborn pack. The base fabrics are soft, and the sherpa-lined cover keeps it cosy in cold weather. My daughter had no problem falling asleep lying flat, and the newborn pack’s headrest, which has a built-in pillow, added extra comfort. I also liked how you can unzip the top of the foot muff for warmer days.

The stroller’s handlebar isn't adjustable, which was fine for me, but my husband, who’s taller, would’ve preferred it a bit higher. It’s easy to switch between semi-recline and upright positions, and there’s a leg rest (sold separately) that’s perfect for toddlers up to age three.”

Is the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller safe?

We found this stroller to be very safe as the chassis has thick bars, making you feel confident to navigate over various terrain or in tight spaces. The mesh fabric also allows for more airflow throughout the stroller so there’s less chance of your child overheating – especially in warmer months.

The five-point harness is sturdy and easily fastens and unclips which makes it a breeze to strap my daughter into the stroller, especially when I’m short on time. I would have liked the harness to be slightly tighter and more secure around my daughter, but I appreciate that it doesn’t restrict her in any way and I’m sure it’ll fit her snugly when she grows a little more.

One of the downsides of the hard-shell bassinet that comes with the newborn pack is that the hood doesn’t recline, which made it difficult to take my daughter out of the buggy. Sometimes her head got caught in the hood, which wasn’t ideal for her neck or face.

What is the Stokke YOYO 3 Bonpoint stroller like to use day-to-day?

As a busy mum of two, Jilly found the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint incredibly handy and easy to use in her daily routine. She explains, “In terms of manoeuvrability, my husband and I believe this is one of the stroller’s strongest features. The small, nimble wheels fit through tight spaces, and the narrow frame easily navigates coffee shops, restaurants, and doorways. Steering is effortless—we’ve had no issues and can even steer with one hand.

The small, hard wheels are perfect for smooth surfaces like pavements, roads, and shopping centres. During testing, we pushed it through short grass and gravel roads, even though the stroller isn’t designed for this. We didn’t get stuck or have any stones lodged in the wheels, but we could feel the suspension strain on uneven ground. It was also easy to pop the stroller onto pavements when crossing the street.

The YOYO’s handlebar isn’t extendable, which works for me at 5'4", but my taller husband would prefer it a bit higher. The faux leather adds a sleek, premium look and is easy to clean. There’s a non-detachable tether strap, which I don’t use; I’d prefer an inbuilt clip for carrying extra bags. However, the handlebar is easy to grip and allows me to steer effortlessly, even with one hand—perfect when managing my toddler.

One drawback is the small brake, which can be hard to locate with your foot without bending down. I sometimes struggle to click it on and off, especially in open-toe shoes, which isn’t ideal for frequent use. A slightly longer and larger brake would make it easier to operate.

Another downside is the sun canopy. While it’s made from durable UV-protective fabric, I expected it to fully cover my daughter, especially since the updated version is meant to be more extendable than the YOYO². It still falls short, especially when the sun is out.

Regarding the storage basket, the stroller easily accommodates smaller items like water bottles, my purse, snacks, or a small backpack, but I can’t fit my changing bag inside. The frame bars get in the way, making it a bit tricky to retrieve larger items from the basket.”

How well does Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller handle rough terrain?

During testing the stroller performed surprisingly well on rough terrain, despite not being specifically designed for it, and we didn’t need to lock the front wheels for easier manoeuvring.

However, there are limitations compared to larger all-terrain prams on the market like the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2. We found it challenging to push through thicker grass and over very bumpy ground, like dried, uneven mud in the woods.

Is the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller easy to use on public transport?

Transitioning on and off buses and trains with the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller is straightforward. We love how compact the stroller is, taking up minimal space on busy trains and buses. It’s easy to pivot to make room for other passengers or squeeze into the stroller area on a bus.

Switching the stroller to reverse for disembarking is also simple. Its lightweight design makes it easy to carry up and down stairs in tube stations without step-free access. I could manage climbing the stairs on my own while carrying the stroller, without needing help from my husband thanks to the padded carry strap.

Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint folded

Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller: how easy is it to fold?

Another great feature of the YOYO 3 is how simple it is to fold and unfold, no matter where you are. “I was initially a little apprehensive because I know that with most products designed to be small and compact, I might need my engineer husband to figure it out first and then give me a step-by-step demonstration. Needless to say, I was proven wrong and managed to get the hang of the fold quite quickly,” laughs Jilly.

The compact two-step fold is where the YOYO 3 really comes into its own and has been a massive game changer compared to other slightly larger strollers I’ve used in the past. The process of pressing down the two buttons on the sides of the frame to fold down the handlebar, then reaching underneath the seat to push in the small hidden button and pull the handle to collapse the frame, allows the stroller to fold down on itself in seconds.

I also like that the lock automatically engages to keep the stroller in place without me needing to remember. However, I found that the lock sometimes didn’t fully latch, causing the stroller to unfold.

Unfolding the YOYO 3 is even easier. I love how quick and simple it is to release the lock and hold it up as everything unfolds and falls into place, provided the lock is released first. While I never managed to master folding or unfolding it one-handed, this is still easily one of my favourite features of the stroller. Because I was using the newborn pack, I also loved that I didn’t need to remove anything before folding the stroller. I thought the strap was super practical, allowing me to easily carry the folded stroller up and down stairs or hang it on our coat rack to save space in our entrance hall.

Does the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller fit in the boot of your car? How much space does it take up?

“Yes. We have quite a large boot and it fits easily to one side with enough room for a few shopping bags, a changing bag, and all my toddler’s paraphernalia,” says Jilly.

Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller: Does it come with accessories?

The YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller only comes with the frame and your chosen pack – either the newborn pack – which includes with a foot cover, or the 6+ pack, but these are also sold separately. Other accessories sold separately include the car seat adapters, newborn mosquito net and newborn rain cover.

Stokke YOYO x Bonpoint Beige with baby

Is the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller easy to clean?

Yes, the stroller is relatively easy to clean. Jilly didn’t spill anything on the stroller during testing, but “I do have an incredibly inquisitive toddler who often put his grubby little hands on the buggy to have a look at his baby sister. I found it easy to wipe this off with a damp cloth,” she explains.

Do you think the Stokke YOYO 3 x Bonpoint stroller is good value for money?

In terms of its price point, I think this stroller is slightly on the expensive side. However, I do believe you’re paying for quality. The sturdy design and premium materials are guaranteed to last- especially when you’re travelling and knocking the stroller about, which makes it worth it in the long run.
