'Perfect Temperature' by name, perfect temperature by nature - this Ninja kettle does what it says on the tin (or, more accurately, box), serving you hot water specifically tailored to your chosen beverage. So, whether you're a green tea drinker or a coffee connoisseur, it has all the settings you need to serve up the perfect brew, every time. There's also a handy keep warm function, which is great for those busy mornings juggling the school run and getting in that much-needed cuppa.

It's not just a functional kettle; it's pleasingly stylish too, coming in two sleek colourways, stainless steel and black. Despite its generous 1.7-litre capacity (seven cups), it’s nice and compact. The cord also tucks neatly into the base, helping to keep things tidy.

If you live in a hard water area, you'll know all too well just how much of a bugbear limescale can be. The Ninja is a great kettle for hard water, with an effective filter that keeps unpleasant residue out of your hot drink – regular descaling is still recommended, however.

The downsides? It’s quite heavy, and the stainless steel exterior does get quite hot, which is worth bearing in mind if you have younger children. It’s also not the quietest model out there, though the noise level is far from a deal-breaker. At £99, it's also pricey – but this is a price tag we'd expect for one of the best temperature control kettles.

What is the Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle like to use?

Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle in use

I found the Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle very easy to operate. You just plug it in and you’re ready to go. The base is compact, displaying a simple-to-understand control panel, and I love that you can tuck away the cord to make your counter space neater.

I wouldn't call it a quiet kettle per se, but it's not so loud that you can’t hear anything else. It beeps both when you switch it on to boil and when it’s ready (it actually makes the same beep as Ninja air fryers).

There's six temperature settings – ranging between 60°C and 100°C – all of which can be selected with the simple press of a button. For even more flexibility, there's also a manual setting, giving you total control over your brew – you just need to press the minus and plus buttons to choose your ideal temperature.

I love that you can adjust the temperature settings mid-boil if you change your mind, too – this is very handy. There's also a keep warm function that holds the temperature for 30 minutes, which is great for busy mornings.

While it's not the quickest kettle we've tested at MNHQ (the Russell Hobbs Quiet Boil and Inspire Kettles win that title, boiling a cup in just under 45 seconds), it's still impressively speedy, serving up one cup of boiling water in just 55 seconds and seven cups in two minutes, 42 seconds.

Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle: design and style

Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle

The Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle looks really nice, and I love how compact and stylish it is. Despite having lots of features and a generous 1.7L capacity, it doesn’t take up that much room – I have a small kitchen so this is appreciated!

I really like that the cord neatly fits into the base and the display is easy to read. However, I don’t like that the outside gets very hot. It’s also quite heavy, being stainless steel, but the handle is sturdy and it’s easy to lift and fill.

How easy is the Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle to keep clean?

It does show watermarks, though I do live in a very hard water area. This isn't a total surprise given the material – MNHQ has found this to be an issue with all stainless steel kettles we've tested. Luckily, because of the steel, it’s pretty easy to keep clean with a quick wipe.

The filter works very well to keep limescale out of hot drinks; I’ve not had any issues with this, though I do descale regularly.

Price: does the Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle offer value for money?

I mean, a kettle is a kettle and this one is certainly at the higher end of the scale price-wise. I do think it's worth the cost because of the variable temperature control and keep warm function, both of which are very useful features. If you're making formula or drink a lot of coffee and speciality teas, then you will absolutely appreciate this. I also like that it beeps when finished.

It's worth noting that it’s reassuringly sturdy. My previous kettle was a cheapo one and the lid would sometimes open when pouring, so I wasn’t happy letting my daughter use it. The outside does get hot though, so that is something to bear in mind if you have younger kids.

Ninja KT201UK Perfect Temperature Kettle

I have the Ninja kettle which very helpfully can be set to the temperature you want to boil to. They're pretty expensive but there may be cheaper versions.
