I liked the look of the Bosch; right out of the box I thought it was very stylish. Personally, I do prefer the retro style of the De'Longhi Icona Metallics (especially as that comes as a matching kettle and toaster set), but when it comes to looks, the Styline is certainly not to be sniffed at. With a glossy black and stainless steel exterior, it's a good-looking kettle, and I think it'd look fantastic in kitchens with a modern aesthetic.
I also loved the chunky handle and large button on top to open and close the lid – this made refilling it really easy. As the water boils, the temperature it's at after 70°C lights up in red. I thought this was another nice detail so I could see progress and estimate how long was left to boil.
Size-wise, it's quite a bulky kettle. It wasn't too obstructive on my worktops, but it isn't as compact as some other models, something to bear in mind if you have a bijou kitchen.

How easy is the Bosch Styline Kettle to keep clean?
I live in London, so I'm always on the lookout for the best kettles for hard water. I felt this performed well – after a month of testing, I didn't feel the need to use a kettle descaler (yet!), and I found the removable limescale filter was effective at keeping my drinks clear.
Being in such a hard water area, one problem I do find with kettles is excessive watermarks on the exterior, especially with fully stainless steel designs. As only part of the exterior is metallic, this has been less of a problem with the Bosch, though it does still need an occasional wipe down to keep it looking its best.

Price: does the Bosch TWK8633GB Styline Kettle offer value for money?
Yes, I would say so. At £81, it is a pricey kettle, but I think it's worth it. It felt sturdy and did a really good job during testing, plus I loved the premium features that set this apart from more basic kettles.
Keep your eyes peeled for discounts too – I've seen it reduced to £65 in recent weeks, which is an absolute bargain for a variable temperature kettle.
