Our verdict

Our tester Sarah rated the Momcozy KleanPal steam steriliser well overall, particularly praising its performance and build quality. She pointed out that it was "designed very well" and consistently produced spotlessly clean bottles and pump parts with no fading or discolouration. She also liked the additional fast bottle washing option for busy days.

Ease of use was good once Sarah had read the instructions, and the safety features brought peace of mind. Rating the KleanPal highly for performance, quality and hygiene, Sarah pointed out that the steriliser does what it is designed to do, and does it well.

That said, the KleanPal is quite large and needs a dedicated spot next to a sink to allow the drain pipe to work properly. Capacity is modest - around four bottles plus a few pump parts - which might feel limiting if you’re sterilising multiple feeds a day. Sarah noted that this was the KleanPal's “biggest flaw”, particularly for a formula-fed baby who needs multiple bottles a day.

Compared with microwave sterilisers and hand washing, the KleanPal takes longer and uses more water and energy. For some parents that trade‑off may be worth it for thorough steam sterilisation; for others it might feel less practical. There's also no getting away from the cost - though the KleanPal is currently 31% off at £240, it's certainly a premium option. In comparison, the Tommee Tippee Super Steam Advanced Electric Steriliser is £75 at full RRP (currently 50% off at £38) and the Bebello Washer is £299 to purchase, but has greater bottle capacity.

Bottom line: If you want reliable hygiene and quality design, and don’t mind the size and cycle length, the Momcozy KleanPal is a strong contender. But for heavy daily use or tight kitchens, you might prefer a quicker, smaller option.

How we tested the KleanPal

Sarah used the Momcozy KleanPal over a testing period of several weeks on bottles and breast pump parts, assessing ease of use, sterilisation quality, capacity, energy use and practicality in a real kitchen setup. She tried both the main steam cycle and the fast bottle wash option.

Performance

The KleanPal doesn’t disappoint in cleaning. Items come out spotless and hygienic with no discolouration. “There is no fading or discolouration on the items I’ve sterilised,” says Sarah. Safety and hygiene scored well too, thanks to strong steam action.

Ease of use and design

The KleanPal arrives fully assembled and is straightforward once you’ve read the manual. However, it’s “very large and bulky” and needs to sit beside a sink for its drain pipe, which might be tricky in smaller kitchens. Sarah found it took up valuable counter space.

Aesthetically, it is designed very well and there are many options, however it is very energy consuming and does not wash a lot of bottles at once.

Capacity and speed

Capacity is limited to roughly four bottles plus pump parts. For parents with multiple feeds per day, this means several runs. Sarah says the size “isn’t sufficient for a baby that is formula fed.” The main steam cycle lasts around an hour and uses a considerable amount of water, which also means higher energy use. However, the KleanPal does have a rapid wash option which takes under 20 minutes to run. Sarah said that this feature was her favourite thing about the steriliser.

Value for money

At around £300 RRP, the Momcozy KleanPal is a premium steam steriliser. Its thorough cleaning, solid build and useful features justify the price for some. But given the modest capacity and long cycle, Sarah felt that quicker and cheaper methods (like microwave sterilisers or hand washing with occasional steam) were easier for daily use. “When you are going through many bottles a day, it would require several runs. I think it's easier to manually wash and sterilise the bottles using other methods, and a lot less time consuming."

While we wouldn't necessarily recommend the KleanPal for heavy daily bottle users or smaller kitchens, this is still a solidly built, high quality option for those who only need a few bottles a day, like the reassurance that comes with steam sterilisation and want a well-designed, good looking steriliser which delivers on its promises.
