Our verdict

If you're willing to invest in a premium wearable breast pump, the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Breast Pump offers one of the most discreet and comfortable pumping experiences we've tested.

Mum-of-two Kate used the Momcozy Air 1 for six weeks while exclusively breastfeeding her three-month-old son and building up a freezer stash of expressed milk. With a toddler to look after at the same time, being able to pump without feeling restricted was a major advantage. She found the slim design noticeably less bulky than other wearable pumps she'd used, making it easier to wear both at home and when out and about.

Kate was particularly impressed by how comfortable the Momcozy Air 1 felt in everyday use. As she explains, “The pump sits comfortably in your bra and it is easy to move around and be active. I forgot I was wearing it a couple of times.”

The charging case was another standout feature, keeping the pumps protected, organised and ready to use whenever needed. Combined with app connectivity, milk tracking and full collector alerts, the Momcozy Air 1 feels thoughtfully designed for parents who express regularly.

It's not perfect. Kate found the initial setup took a little getting used to, and while the pump itself didn't leak during use, she experienced occasional spills when removing it or transferring milk into bottles or storage bags. She also felt the magnetic charging connection could disconnect too easily if knocked.

Overall, Kate says, “I really like this pump and would recommend it to my fellow mum friends.” While its premium price tag won't suit every budget, the combination of comfort, portability, smart features and an ultra-slim design helps the Momcozy Air 1 stand out from many other wearable breast pumps on the market.

How we tested the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Breast Pump

Kate tested the Momcozy Air 1 for six weeks while exclusively breastfeeding her three-month-old son and building up a supply of expressed milk. She typically used the pump three to four times a week, fitting pumping sessions around life with a baby and a busy two-year-old toddler.

Because Kate was often juggling two children at once, she paid particular attention to how comfortable and practical the wearable design was in everyday use. During the testing period, she also spent a full day away from her son, relying on the Air 1 for multiple expressing sessions while out and about, which allowed her to assess its portability, battery life and ease of use away from home.

Once testing was complete, Kate scored the Momcozy Air 1 across a range of key criteria including performance, quality and durability, ease of use, value for money, comfort, noise levels, battery life and hygiene. It achieved a total score of 87 out of 100, which equates to a five-star rating.

What’s in the box?

The Momcozy Air 1 arrives with everything needed to get started, including the pumps themselves, a charging case and multiple flange inserts to help you find a comfortable fit.

Inside the box, you'll find:

  • Two Momcozy Air 1 breast pumps with 24mm flanges

  • Charging case

  • USB-C charging cable

  • Magnetic charging cable

  • Two spare valves

  • Two flange covers

  • Two 21mm flange inserts

  • Two 19mm flange inserts

  • Two 17mm flange inserts

  • Flange size ruler

  • Quick start guide

  • User manual

How easy is it to set up for first use?

Like the Momcozy S12 Pro, the Momcozy Air 1 takes a little time to get familiar with before your first pumping session. There are several components that need assembling and sterilising, so Kate found the initial setup slightly more involved than simply taking it out of the box and switching it on.

As she explains, “There are seven parts to the actual pump, six of which required sterilisation before using. The instructions were okay to follow, it was tricky at first to work out how to take it apart and put it back together but after a few attempts I got familiar with it.”

The Momcozy Air 1 includes a flange size ruler and multiple flange inserts, which helps take some of the guesswork out of finding the correct fit. Kate found this particularly useful, as getting the right flange size from the start can make a noticeable difference to both comfort and pumping efficiency.

While there is a learning curve initially, Kate found the setup process became much more straightforward after a few uses. Once she understood how the different parts fitted together, the Momcozy Air 1 was easy to prepare and incorporate into her regular expressing routine.

The Momcozy Air 1 is controlled using simple onboard buttons, with magnetic charging cables included for recharging between sessions.

How does the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Breast Pump look?

The Momcozy Air 1 has a noticeably sleeker profile than many wearable breast pumps, helping it sit closer to the body when worn inside a nursing bra. As Kate explains, “I do believe this pump is the slimmest one I’ve used. Any pump is never going to be totally discreet, but this model is definitely one of the slimmest ones I’ve come across on the market.”

Compared with bulkier wearable models such as the Momcozy S9 Pro and Momcozy S12 Pro, the Momcozy Air 1 creates a more natural shape under clothing, making it easier to wear outside the house without feeling self-conscious.

Kate felt comfortable wearing the pump while out and about, although she notes that, like most wearable pumps, it's still easier to conceal under looser-fitting outfits. As she puts it, “I’ve worn it out and about and felt comfortable, but it is easier to hide under baggy tops rather than strappy or tighter fitted tops.”

The soft rose finish also gives the Momcozy Air 1 a more premium feel than some of the more clinical-looking pumps on the market.

What’s it like to use day to day?

Once Kate had familiarised herself with the controls, she found the Momcozy Air 1 easy to use as part of her regular expressing routine.

There was a small learning curve at the start. As she explains, “The first time I used it I struggled to turn the device on however soon realised you have to hold the power button for a couple of seconds before it turns on.” After that, she found the controls straightforward, with buttons to adjust suction levels and switch between the three pumping modes: stimulation, expression and mixed.

One feature Kate particularly liked was the clear collector, which made it easy to check nipple placement before starting a session. Combined with the included flange size ruler and four flange sizes, she felt it was easier to achieve a comfortable fit from the outset.

Comfort was one of the Air 1's biggest strengths during testing. Kate says, “The pump sits comfortably in your bra and it is easy to move around and be active.” This made it particularly useful when juggling her baby and toddler throughout the day.

While Kate didn't experience any leaks while pumping, she did find transferring milk afterwards could be slightly awkward. She notes that most spillages happened when removing the pump or pouring milk into a bottle or storage bag, rather than during use itself.

How portable is the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Breast Pump?

Portability is one of the areas where the Momcozy Air 1 really stands out. Unlike many wearable pumps that still require separate charging cables and storage solutions, the Momcozy Air 1 comes with a dedicated charging case that keeps everything together and ready to use.

Kate was particularly impressed by this feature, saying, “The charging case is a great way to transport the pump whilst also charging it. Looking forward to using it on holiday this summer.”

The slim design also makes the pumps easier to carry than bulkier wearable models. During testing, Kate took the Momcozy Air 1 out for a full day without the charging case and found it still fitted comfortably into a small handbag. As she explains, “I did take the pump out in my bag for the full day (not in the charging case) and it fit really well in my small over the shoulder handbag.”

Combined with its lightweight design, the charging case and compact size make the Momcozy Air 1 particularly well suited to parents who need to express away from home or while travelling.

How efficient is the pump?

With a maximum suction strength of up to 285 mmHg, the Momcozy Air 1 sits towards the higher end of the wearable breast pump market. Kate found the Momcozy Air 1 delivered strong results in a relatively short amount of time, allowing her to express what she considered a full feed in around 20 minutes.

As she explains, “I found the pump to be powerful enough to express a full feed within 20 minutes. I would say on average I got about five pumping sessions between each charge.”

The Momcozy Air 1 includes three pumping modes: Stimulation, Expression and Mixed along with nine suction levels. Kate experimented with different settings during the first few sessions before settling on a combination that felt comfortable and effective for her. The pump can also be controlled through the companion app, although Kate found she tended to use the standard controls on the pump itself for most sessions.

Battery life was also impressive. While Momcozy claims the Air 1 can deliver up to seven or eight sessions per charge, Kate typically achieved around five pumping sessions before needing to recharge, which she found more than sufficient for day-to-day use. The included charging case also helped keep the pumps topped up between sessions, making them easy to grab and go when needed.

Mum using Momcozy Air 1 app

The Momcozy Air 1's companion app can automatically switch modes after let-down and track milk output over time.

How does the app work?

Kate found the Momcozy Air 1 app easy to get started with, saying, “The app was simple to use with a very user-friendly interface.” The app allows you to control pumping sessions remotely and access additional features beyond the standard settings on the pump itself. Kate particularly liked the Auto Mode, which detects let-down and automatically switches from Stimulation mode to Expression mode, as well as the option to create personalised pumping routines based on preferred cycle speed and suction strength.

As she explains, “This personalised routine did take some trial and error to set up as my milk supply changed regularly.”

Kate also found the practical features useful, including pumping reminders and notifications when the collector was full. However, while she appreciated having the app available, it didn't become an essential part of her routine.

She says, “Overall I did find the app useful, however I didn’t use it too much as I do already use another general app where I track sleep, feeds, nappy changes and so on, so I manually input expression session into that so it’s all in one place.”

Is the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Breast Pump easy to clean?

Kate found the Momcozy Air 1 straightforward to clean and maintain between pumping sessions. The individual components come apart easily, making it simple to wash and sterilise the parts that come into contact with milk. As she explains, “The Momcozy Air 1 easily comes apart to clean and sterilise. I used a UV steriliser to clean the pump.”

During testing, Kate found cleaning fitted easily into her routine and didn't feel any more time-consuming than other wearable breast pumps she had used. While some of the larger components are dishwasher-safe, she felt the smaller parts were better washed by hand to avoid them getting lost or damaged.

Momcozy Air 1 breast pump side view

The slim profile helps the Momcozy Air 1 sit more discreetly inside a nursing bra than bulkier wearable pumps.

Is it good value for money?

At around £420 for the double pump package, the Momcozy Air 1 is one of the more expensive wearable breast pumps on the market, so whether it represents good value will largely depend on how much use you'll get from its premium features.

Kate says, “I think it is somewhat good value for money as the charging case is a great feature for charging on the move and storing the pumps.” She adds, “The smart element I personally don’t use as much as I could but I think if you like to track everything in an app it would be well suited to you.”

Compared with more affordable wearable pumps such as the Momcozy S12 Pro, which retails for around £140, the Momcozy Air 1 is a significant investment. However, Kate felt its slimmer profile, quieter operation and charging case helped set it apart from bulkier wearable models. For parents who plan to express regularly outside the home, those extra conveniences may be enough to justify the higher price tag.
