Overall verdict
After six months of heavy daily use, our tester Ally found the Maxi-Cosi Minla Plus Highchair practical, comfortable and extremely durable. Having used it to feed her baby from the start of weaning at six months old right through to her first birthday and beyond, Ally put the Minla Plus thoroughly through its paces. As a result, the Minla Plus is one of our most extensively tested Baby & Child review products and rose to the challenge exceptionally well.
What stood out most during testing was how easy the chair was to use around the kitchen. The wheels made it simple to move from spot to spot, which Ally found particularly helpful during busy mealtimes. The pivoting tray also proved genuinely useful, as it meant she could simply swing the tray out of the way rather than fully remove it during use, a particularly helpful feature when dealing with a wriggly baby.
Cleaning was mostly straightforward, with wipeable surfaces and a washable seat cover. The only drawback Ally noticed was that the pale fabric can show stains in areas where the cover cannot be removed. While this did not affect the chair’s performance, it may be worth considering if you prefer darker fabrics that hide food marks more easily.
Bottom line: A comfortable, sturdy highchair with thoughtful everyday features such as wheels and a pivoting tray. It works particularly well as a long-term kitchen highchair, although it is not designed to travel beyond the home - for that you might be better off considering a travel highchair.
