How we tested the Bugaboo Giraffe 5-in-1 Highchair

Parent-tester Kayla thoroughly tested the Giraffe over several months with her baby, going from initial use of the newborn attachment when her baby was four months old up to the baby set from six months onwards. During this time the highchair was used a minimum of three times a day during mealtimes as well as a safe place for her baby to play.

Kayla took extensive notes during the testing timeframe on the chair's durability, safety, comfort and ease of use as well as its overall performance and value for money.

How is the chair to use day to day?

"It's very easy to use day to day. The only slight difficulty is buckling baby in when the tray is on as it can be a bit fiddly, but if you take the tray off it's a lot easier!"

How easy is the Bugaboo Giraffe to keep clean?

It's very easy to clean. This chair has survived food spills and all messes created by a baby.

Is the chair adjustable?

"Yes, the straps are adjustable and the tray is removable. However, if you had a larger baby there may not be much breathing room for them."

What's the longevity like for the Bugaboo Giraffe Highchair?

You can remove the tray and strap attachments, so when baby becomes a toddler, they can still use the chair. The chair is excellent quality so I think it will be used for many years to come.

What are the standout features of the Bugaboo Giraffe?

"I like that it is very modern and stylish looking while being comfortable for baby. It is also super easy to clean."

The newborn attachment is fantastic, it means that baby can join you for meals at the table and when you’re done, there is a rocking attachment that just clips in.

Is there anything you would change?

"If I'm being picky, an option for chair leg extenders would be great - that's just because we keep the highchair at our kitchen island which is quite tall. But otherwise, this is honestly a fantastic highchair."
