It’s the only thing I use, I normally add some moisturiser to it to make it thinner :) their other products are fab too.

I’m currently using It Cosmetics CC cream. It says it’s full coverage but I use a very small amount applied with a sponge. It lasts all day and gives a decent amount of coverage without looking - and feeling cakey.

Designed as a colour correcting product (hence the “CC” in its name”, iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream is a multifunctional product and can be used as a buildable foundation, anti-ageing serum and a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen - all while providing skincare benefits. As it’s buildable, you can achieve your desired level of coverage from medium to full to help you achieve a natural-looking finish that evens out your skin tone that blurs imperfections.

Packed with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants, the CC+ cream contributes to hydration and offers extra sun protection on top of your regular SPF. What’s more, the product itself has been developed with input from expert dermatologists and plastic surgeons. So, you can rest assured that this CC+ Cream provides only the good stuff for your skin.

So, how does it actually perform? Mumsnet editor and mum-of-two, Rebecca, tries it out.

How we tested iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream

  • Tested the original CC+ Cream on days when I needed extra coverage

  • Tested the Nude Glow CC+ Cream when I wanted a lighter look and avoid using too much product

  • Both products tested in shade ‘Fair’

  • Both products have been worn at home, on windy walks, at soft play, kids’ parties and out on the town to achieve different looks

Ever since I was a young teenager, I’ve always preferred a ‘less is more’ look when it comes to makeup, preferring to go without foundation and focus on my skin instead.

With that said, living in the desert for almost seven years followed by two pregnancies and I've been left with redness and hyperpigmentation in some areas on my face, which are becoming more apparent the older I get.

Seeking a solution that complements my low-maintenance beauty routine, I settled on iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream that promises colour correction, hydration and SPF protection all in one product. It’s a product often recommended on our style and beauty board by Mumsnet users, so I was understandably intrigued.

I tested both the original CC+ Cream alongside the Nude Glow version: the former offers a medium to full coverage, whereas the Nude Glow CC+ Cream gives a lighter, more dewy coverage.

What shades are available?

There are 23 shades available in the iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream. I personally tested the shade ‘Fair’, which apparently matches my existing foundation according to Findation.com.

Disappointingly I found the original CC+ Cream too dark in that shade for my skin, however the Nude Glow version in Fair matched much better. When it comes to purchasing the original CC+ Cream again, I would probably opt for Fair Ivory.

What is the texture and consistency of iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream like?

I’ve found that the product has a smooth, creamy texture that glides easily onto the skin with your fingertips and a foundation brush (like iT Cosmetics’ own Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush). It’s lightweight and blends easily, and I’ve found the consistency isn’t too thick or too thin.

The original CC+ Cream, however, gives more coverage than the Nude Glow version. Great if you want a medium or full coverage look, but not great if you want something lightweight to wear day-to-day. With that said, neither CC+ Creams by iT Cosmetics are heavy or feel cakey and once applied, evenly distribute across the skin.

What is the level of coverage like? Is it buildable?

The original formula is great for anyone looking for a multifunctional product that offers medium to full coverage. It’s buildable, yes, but take care not to use too much CC+ Cream as a little goes a long way.

CC+ Cream by IT Cosmetics

I personally found I only needed one layer of the CC+ Cream to achieve a smooth, even skin tone that’s natural. If I had applied more during testing, I fear it would have become quite evident that the shade doesn’t quite match properly.

As for the CC+ Nude Glow Cream, this is much more lightweight and gives a more dewy finish to your look. I personally liked this one for day-to-day wear. You know, those days when you need a quick skin pick-me-up before nursery drop off to make you look a bit more, well, alive.

How does the CC cream feel on skin?

Both CC+ Creams, in my opinion, are breathable. I had initial concerns that the original formula would be too heavy but despite giving medium to full coverage, it’s very breathable.

Does the CC cream provide any skincare benefits?

Certainly, there’s plenty. The original CC+ Cream formula is infused with skincare ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants, all of which help to hydrate your skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve your overall skin texture over time.

Throughout testing, I’ve not seen a drastic improvement in my skin. Although, as I’ve mentioned, skincare is something I prefer to invest in over makeup and so, my regime includes several products that also aim to help in these areas. But, every little helps, right? And so iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream is a welcome addition that boosts my skin overall.

While it has SPF 50 in it, I would advise against relying on this product solely for sunscreen. Instead, use your usual SPF before applying iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream for full protection. The SPF in the CC+ Cream is an added bonus, if you look at it that way.

Final verdict

If you’re someone seeking a versatile product that combines makeup and skincare benefits, this is the one for you. iT Cosmetics’ CC+ Cream has a multitasking formula that provides coverage, hydration, extra sun protection and skincare benefits all in one easy-to-use product. Whether you're a busy mom looking for a quick and efficient beauty solution or someone who prefers a minimalist approach to makeup like me, the CC+ Cream delivers on its promises, making it a worthwhile addition to any beauty routine.
