Women who have been raped don’t want to be vulnerable around unknown men . Women need single sex spaces. Women of certain religious beliefs don’t want to be sharing intimate spaces with a man. You can’t think of any risk?

I am guilty but from the other side. If there are no disabled toilets I have to take my son who has Down Syndrome and epilepsy into the ladies. I always check first with the ladies and have never had a problem, everyone has been so kind.

You say disabled/family toilets like they are interchangeable. That isn't always the case. Some toilet are just for the use of disabled people. I have a disabled daughter and quite frequently have to wait for a parent with either multiple kids or a child of the opposite sex to vacate the toilet. It can be mildly frustrating, nevertheless I understand the parent made the best call given the circumstances. So just get on with the job at hand and think nothing more of it. Random man using the toilet, by all means make as much fuss as you like, a man taking his daughter to the toilet, maybe cut him some slack.

I think some people here might never have been inside a male toilet. They aren’t all walking round with their Nobs out. They are facing the wall, they have their penis in their hand… so unless it’s massive nobody is seeing anything.

For all those say using the disabled loo, what if a disabled person needs access to it? The dad has options. The disabled person doesn't. Comparable to the use of a pram in the wheelchair space. Disabled people count too!

It’s not traumatic don’t be ridiculous. What’s traumatic about a man doing a pee ? Children are not sexual beings . Adult men are . Adult men should not be in the ladies . If little girls should not walk through the men’s then little boys should not either .

Good women understand that if the only option is the men's with urinals most parents don't want their girls to have to see a load of penises. I don't and I live with 4 men/boys.

If accessible doubles as baby change, or other family/unisex facilities are available, it is the obvious solution. Otherwise, men's toilet are the right place.

as I said early in the thread disabled toilet facilties are shockingly bad in a lot of places anyway and more people using the only available toilet makes things even worse

Weirdly enough my DH and I witnessed a man take his 6/7 year old daughter into a men’s toilet in a small cafe yesterday- the women’s was only a few metres away -it was my DH who commented that he found this really strange.

Generally people don’t stare at the them the men are facing the urinal and peeing. I couldn’t give a toss if my son sees a load of vaginas and boobs in the woman’s changing room. He’s 4 and he already knows women have different bodies than men. What’s the difference .

My dad took us into the men's. I never saw any penises.
I did see one using a gender neutral loo when a man came out of a cubicle still zipping himself up.
