I am in!!
Fast 800 for me, so far I have had egg for breakfast and have a v small pot of left over chicken and Waldorf salad here for lunch.. But today isnt going to be a fast day as I am meeting Ds after work, haven't seen him for over 3 weeks . I expect we will go for food , but I shall stick with salad..
Drinks . I like just water with loads of ice , often popin lemon or lime slice, cucumber ,mint sprig and ginger slices .. it feels like a ' drink'. A couple of chopped strawberries work also
Cold infused tea is good, the twinings strawberry and melon is nice, its expensive but on bag does several drinks if you make up a jug and put in fridge..
Also mint tea is my saviour, ( and black coffee

Here is the bad news.. I have 2 stone to lose BlushHmm

Low calorie Indian tonic, a few dashes of angostura bitters, slice of lemon and lime (give them a little squeeze), lots of ice.

👍👍👍

My weight has crept up a bit. (Hello cheese!) I have dug out the blender and am about to start my intermittent fasting again. More veggie sludge - DH calls it Pond Slime. So appetizing. Meanwhile, might help with nutrient deficiencies.
DH will be back from a seven week business trip next week. Tempted to throw the kids at him and book myself into the Mayr Clinic in Switzerland or Austria, (wherever in the Alps). Why can’t I have the income of a Kardashian? Snot fair!!!

sparkling mineral water is my drink ofchoice i am a 5:2 fan but I've just come back from two weeks in France and need to drop a couple of pounds so I think I'll do 4:3 this week. My DH works away and is home at weekends so this works for me.

Also a fan of the new high protein low calorie icecream look alikes - Judes salted caramel was on offer this morning in Sainsburys. It's not as nice as the real thing but it helps stop the weekends going completely out of control

I’m going to post a few pics of my low carb meals, just because they look good, but maybe they will inspire someone too, and also to remind myself that it’s a great way of eating!

(I’m in the last week of bootcamp now. Looking forward to relaxing slightly, but will still be carrying on with broadly low carb, high fat. I love it, it’s great for my blood sugars and I feel far better on it in lots of ways)

Chicken with tomato, olives, and other yummy Mediterranean ingredients (my OH made this one a few months ago so I don’t actually remember exactly what was in it, but it was delicious!)

Thai prawn soup with bamboo shoots and sugar snap peas.

Tuna salad with boiled eggs.

Oops posted too soon.

The other two are chicken curry (I like to eat it cold for lunch) with veg crudités, and a chicken Caesar salad with pork scratchings in place of croutons.

An extra luxurious picky lunch (all sorts of lovely low carb things - I make this when I’m feeling a bit deprived, once every couple of weeks or so, it’s such a treat that I really can’t feel hard done by).

A baked egg in chopped tomato with herbs. Sausages on the side and some little tomatoes for freshness.

Salt and chilli chicken wings with veg crudités and guacamole.

Those dishes look AMAZING and totally yummy! I want to eat them all!
Well I had pear and cinnamon porrage this morning. Then out of that book @Laska2Meryls I had one of the salad wraps - the tuna one. It was actually meant to be mushroom soup but my dd convinced me otherwise. It was delicious. She had it with a wholemeal pitta though. I didn't really miss the pitta. It was tasty. Feel I could eat it again Blush
Anway, not sure what is on for dinner. Was going to make pizza with the pitas but I think that might just be too many calories. Off to work it out,
I am going to try some water and ginger and lemon. Thanks for all the suggestions!

waves

Just place marking for some yummy ideas! nink - those dishes look stunning...food as art form! How do you do the baked egg in chopped tomato?

I agree with laska on iced water (with mint, or lemon/ lime or berries/orange) being THE BEST and most refreshing "everyday" drink.

For dinner it is speedy pizza - from the book
Feta salad - just lettuce, tomato and some feta cheese.
Pudding - greek yoghurt and some frozen berries.

That takes me to 805 calories for today :)
Its not bad! I can fit a pudding in today!

Oh and to count the calories I have a nifty little app called nutra check that adds it all up for me! I have a Samsung and don't have an iPhone so I am not sure it would have that app.

laska sure, it’s this one from Jamie Oliver which we’ve adapted a little:

www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/thai-red-chicken-soup/

It’s not a true, authentic Thai soup but more an homage to, but we love it because it’s so easy and convenient, only 5-6 ingredients and no effort at all. We don’t make it with the butternut squash, we both love it but we just don’t like the texture or flavour of it in this dish. We always put bamboo shoots in for the crunch, and then we add either spinach, or pak Choi, sugar snap peas or mange tout. We do love the chicken version and do it that way fairly often but we also make it with prawns or seafood selection, or sometimes just some sea bass fillets.

sheep I cook down a tin of chopped tomato with a little bit of garlic, herbs, sometimes some veg (courgette, aubergine, peppers or whatever I have to hand that needs using up). Transfer to gratin dish and make a little well for the egg, them cook in the oven for about 10 min depending on how well done you want the yolk. Top with some spring onions and/or fresh herbs. In fact I’ve just remembered the one pictured on the photograph was actually made with leftover ratatouille.

(Some might need a little bit of adapting if you’re not actually doing low carb/high fat, but I think most would easily made a little less calorific with pertinent substitutions)

Thanks nink - that sounds really easy. I think even I can manage that! Yum.

Thanks for the links too. Loads of ideas on that veggie one! I'm not sure I mind whether they are low carb/ low cal or whatever. I know i should eat fewer carbs (and more veggies) just cos they are quite high calorie for not much nutrition - but I'm not sure I subscribe to trying to cut them out totally (or trying to get them as low as possible). They are too yummy, frankly and it would make me Sad Sad . Just need to work on portions, really (and the sugar obsession...) - so the thread of ideas of low carb meals that aren't a "side dish" is great!
