1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I used the colour matching service as when I bought 3 testers of Valspar colours, I found them to be SUBSTANTIALLY darker than the colour card. I am however, very happy with the colour we received via the Colour Matching Service

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

My 6yr old little girl's bedroom.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

The paint applied very well and did not require a second coat. A really good formula in terms of easy application & coverage.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Absolutely. As above, the formula is great, it applies well and doesn't seem to need a second coat; at least not with pale pinks on a brand new wall. We live in a new build so all our walls are white to begin with.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I found choosing the colour easy,. I liked the little light box which shows the colour under different lights. A brilliant range of colours and i liked when i looked on the website that it suggested coordinating colours to use.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

My living room. It was looking tired and i wanted a hard-wearing paint as I am a childminder and the walls get covered!

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

I really liked the paint. It went on well, gave really good coverage and the colour was exactly the same as the paint chip. It was a little bit splatty (although i have been told I paint like a 5 year old 🤣) but it meant i got coverage from the tin. I found it went on nice and evenly and only took 2 coats to get a good finish.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

I will definitely be using it again. I have already needed to wash sticky handprints off the walls and you wouldn't know it had been marked.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I spent ages choosing the colour!! I had a print in mind for the wall I wanted to paint, so I tried to find a colour that would bring out the pink of the clouds. The process of choosing was a bit daft as every swatch you picked up had to be thrown away (covid precautions). Normally I like to hold lots of different ones up against each other to find the right colour but I was a little hampered by this process. However I found one that I liked - not so sure about it once it was on the wall grin but it was an exact match for the swatch (see photo) so that’s entirely on me.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

I just did one corner of my sitting room as it was a bit ‘cold’ with a pale blue wall previously and having taken down some shelves I had some filler patches to cover up. This was an ideal opportunity to fix those issues.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

In the end I only did one coat as it covered so well!! Paint went on easily with both brush and roller, and covered brilliantly. Very impressed. I finished off the area with a stripe of gold leaf for a bit of bling to echo the sunset tones in my pic.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Yes absolutely. Don’t know how the price compares to other brands as I wasn’t really looking at other options when I went in and chose it, but if the price was comparable I’d definitely use it again. In fact, I helped my partner choose paint for his house recently and he bought the same paint, in a lovely dusky blue called Cats Cradle.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

Having a bathroom refit, and wanted the exact colour of cream as the tiles.
Used Valsper colour match and it was perfect

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

Bathroom . Part of complete refit

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

Great coverage and Easy to apply. Excellent quality

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Yes we would use again as we can get exactly the colour we need.
We have used before for wood and metal colour matching

1. Really easy. So easy infact my children chose the colour for me. I told them I wanted something dark, gave them my laptop to look at the colour choices and to agree between themselves.
I am very happy with the colour and the service in store was great, even when the mixing machine kept faulting out.

2. My front porch. Because no matter how many times I clean the porch it was always filthy. Scuffed walls and fingerprints aren't exactly what I want guests and visitors to my house to see when I open the door. I wanted to paint this area as the paint promises excellent stain resistance and wipe ability which for the area is a definite bonus. One quick wet wipe and its done kind of thing.

3. The paint was pretty good and one can did 2 coats in the porch with a good third left in the can for touching up. DH was sceptical that one can would be enough. One coat wasn't quite enough to cover the walla but as I was going from a light wall to a dark wall I was expecting to apply 2 coats anyway. It was really good quality paint, nice and thick and not watery/split like some paint can be.

4. Already am. When one of my dc came with me to pick up the paint they also picked up the paint cards they want their room to be painted with. Do is happy because they have the colours they like and I am happy to use the paint again as I know how easy it was to use last time, how well it covers and how easy it is to wipe down afterwards.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I used the matching service to colour match a blue plant pot. The I store service was great, with a tester mixed to show me the colour first. Unsure what happens to the rest of the tester pot once I was shown the paint dries on a small swatch…

2. Which room did you decorate and why?
Initially, a high level strip around our bathroom, and will be using the rest to paint a wall in the study.
Bathroom was redone last year in white wall tiles and fittings, with the only colour being the blue plant pots and bathroom cupboard. There was a small area of untitled wall which I have now painted blue.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?
I found the first coat quite patchy, my room definitely needed a second coat. Couple once dry is fantastic.
I did make a few paint marks on the ceiling, which were easy to clean off.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?
Yes - being able to get a bespoke colour within minutes, plus the huge range of available colours

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I picked my colour from chip rack. I ended up chatting to a valspar rep when I was at the paint mix counter who was so helpful as was the person mixing my paint. The valspar rep recommended the paint sit for a week on the walls before you wash your walls (when I asked if it truly was scrubbable)

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

My hall. It was covered in marks from the kids and the dogs so needed to redecorate it.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

The paint is quite thick but it worked really well in my fillable paint roller. I did 2 coats. The first coat was slightly patchy but was to be expected with a first coat. The second coat looked fantastic. The paint is excellent quality. It doesn't smell like the other brands I've used recently.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Absolutely, I waited a week before wiping the walls down and picked Matt paint to truly test the scrubbability of it. After a week, I scrubbed my walls and they came up lovely and the paint didn't shift at all.

I would highly recommend this paint and would definitely use it again. It's nice knowing I can scrub the walls without taking the paint off using Matt paint. That's a big bonus, I usually need silk because of the kids and dogs so this has given me many more options now and I'm now wondering where else to decorate.

We picked Solstice breeze colour for our paint.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I had a vague idea of the colour I wanted o just hadn't narrowed it down. I went to store to look at the options in the blue/green section and eventually settled on cerulean sea which is a lovely colour. It helped to put the cards under the light box to see how it would look on different types of light.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?
I chose to freshen up the bathroom: it was a very dark miserable room and this has given it some life back. It's a stunning colour.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?
Lovely quality paint, really good coverage.
The paint goes a long way.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?
Yes, later this year we are planning to decorate the living room and I plan to colour match whichever wallpaper we pick. I'm keen to try this service.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I chose Woven Cashmere from the chip rack in a mid sheen.
I was very happy with the colour.
I was not happy that the machine had not mixed the paint fully and there were bits of white base paint in the tub that had not been mixed.
I liked the idea of not needing a screwdriver to get the lid off, however I did not manage to get the lid off myself even once - I had to keep asking my dh
I do like that the paint tub is fully recyclable

2. Which room did you decorate and why?
The dining room because it was tired, boring and is used several times a day every day

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall?
Yes, it went on well both with brush and roller

Did you find that the paint was good quality?
Yes, it was thick and not unpleasant to smell

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?
No because the end result is a patchy finish.
I have tried going over the patchy areas but it has made no difference. - see photo
This is very disappointing because otherwise the paint was very good.

Chose from chip rack, lots of choice. Happy with colour, bad service in local B&Q as they quibbled over accepting the voucher for ages.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

Child's bedroom as needed a refresh due to changing tastes

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

Poor. It was very thin and runny. Difficult to apply and poor coverage. Nice colour after a lot of effort applied!

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Definitely not due to difficulty with application and coverage

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

We chose Cool Vapour from the cards instore. Lovely service from the lady and she kept our son occupied while we were waiting. We absolutely love the colour!

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

Our kitchen as it is the most used room and always gets grubby marks and scuffs! It was ready for a facelift after lockdown!

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

Yes very pleased - we found it easy to apply and a great consistency! Seemed good quality to us.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Absolutely- in fact we've already visited the store to choose colour cards to bring home in preparation for painting our living room next!

I forgot to take a before picture! So sorry! But here is it finished!

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I let the children choose from the colours on the rack as it is as for their room. It's not a colour I would have chosen but they were over the moon with it.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

I decorated a child's bedroom as their siblings bedroom had recently been decorated and theirs needed doing.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?
I found the quality was really good. I have used Valspar paint in the past and only need one coat but found I needed to do two this time but even though I was covering a light colour with a bright one.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?
I would consider using it again as it is good quality paint.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I chose in store from the chip rack. I wanted a nice bright white for a dark hallway and really liked the light box which helped choose my selection.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

Upstairs hallway. It gets little light, was an odd beige colour and covered in children's handprints. I wanted to freshen it up with something light reflecting and with something I can easily clean when the inevitable handprints reappear.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?

Yes and no. I've used Valspar before and it always gives a beautiful colour and is hard wearing. But I find that you have to paint really quickly or you get patches that lift off when you go over them. Lots of paint in the brush/roller and don't hesitate. Then it's all good.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Yes. This is the third room I've painted with Valspar. I really like the durability but only paint on a cool day and paint with gusto!

MarkRuffaloCrumble is your painting a Scott Naismith?

CatkinToadflax Wed 28-Jul-21 19:33:23

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?
We chose from the chip rack. We knew we wanted blue, and having all of the chips laid out in colour groups was really helpful. We were impressed by the wide range of blues to choose from. The service we received was a little odd - there were two members of staff there when we arrived, but they both disappeared and we had to wait quite some time for another member of staff to come and help us, because of course the colour needs mixing rather than just picking up a tin off the shelf ready-mixed. Watching it chugging away in the machine as it was being mixed was very entertaining though. We are very pleased with the colour.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?
The area at the top of our stairs. We had it painted two years ago in a different brand of paint and the quality hasn't been brilliant - there were quite a lot of marks on it and we wanted to re-paint it with a more durable brand.

3. How was your overall experience of using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint? Were you pleased with how the paint applied on the wall? Did you find that the paint was good quality?
Yes. We are very inexperienced painters - we usually get a decorator in to do it for us - but it went on well with the roller and we are happy with the result.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?
Yes - we like the durability and wide range of colours, and the price is reasonable.

Thank you for letting us test this product. smile

GrrrlPwr

MarkRuffaloCrumble is your painting a Scott Naismith?

Yes good spot! A print rather than a painting, I’m sure the originals have a lot more interest going on with the painty textures but I still love the colours in these.

Made my living room smell of cat wee

fromdownwest Thu 29-Jul-21 16:47:57

I was put off this by many people saying that it had an odour of cat wee?

Is this still the case?

I used a main brand trade paint in the end, which went on brilliantly.
