This is the feedback thread for the 60 MNers who have been testing Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings paint. Testers were sent a voucher for a 2.5L tin of Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings and were asked to paint a room in their house.

1. How did you find choosing your colour? Did you choose from the 2,000 colours on the chip rack or did you match a colour sample? Were you happy with the colour of the paint and the service you received?

I went with a shade in mind and couldn't find it in the Valspar section, so they colour matched with another brand. I was very impressed with this and the DDs thought the paint shaking machine was very exciting! I also appreciated the advice to wedge the tin tightly in the car, just in case.

1. Which room did you decorate and why?

The living room as we had just had shutters installed and it needed to be freshened up. I went for a creamy latte shade and it looks lovely. It is quite a small room so the one pot was enough, but if I'd chosen a larger room I would have had to buy more.

It was lovely. I had some reservations after reading that it could be a bit smelly, but there were no issues at all. The paint went on easily and gave good coverage.

1. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Absolutely. It's easy and nice to use and they literally can match any colour.

I will have to work out how to get pictures up, as my phone doesn't seem to like MN at the moment.

1. We chose a colour from the chip rack - we had an idea of the sort of colour we might want for the room beforehand but it was good to be able to narrow that down in store. The service was excellent - a friendly employee who helped guide us

1. We decorated one of the children's bedrooms as it needed tidying up after quite a lot of wear and tear.

1. Valspar is quite a lot thicker than other paints. So it goes on very thickly but then dries very effectively with a nice finish and in our experience only needed 1 coat. Coverage was great and we were pleased

1. We would recommend the paint and would certainly use again.

Hall, needed refreshing due to scuff marks and wear and tear.

Good quality paint, went on well.

Yes, range of colours were very good with good pigment level and the finish is very nice.

I took a tile with a snippet of bright blue on it and had it colour matched. I had 4 choices, the lady got the chips for me and we picked out the best match. I was very happy with the colur of the paint. The staff at B&Q are always very helpful and patient as I um and ahh over minute differences in colour.

The bathroom, as it was an awful badly painted peach colour.

Very satisfying to apply, just the right viscosity. It has very nearly covered the peach (with a nice forget me not blue) in one coat. Two will be perfect.

Yes, every time. Great colours, cheaper than other brands, but still excellent quality and a pleasure to apply!

Valspar?

I know someone who used this paint to paint their flat ready for their new baby/ It gave off toxic fumes, the council eventually moved them into emergency temp accomodation until they were able to get the flat fumigated, - cost them a fortune as they had to pay rent as well as mortgage, as well as all the fumigation costs. Last I heard they were trying to sue Valspar for the costs

Maybe they've changed their formula, but if you start noticing a strange smell or start getting unexplained headaches, I'd get a specialist in to evaluate it.

We wanted a colour we have previously used in the Dulux brand. We showed them in-store, they checked it on the system and the colour they provided is a very good match.

2. Which room did you decorate and why?

My son's bedroom. We are slowly repainting the house and we felt this room was sized well for the 2.5 litres we had!

We've been using Dulux and I wouldn't say it was better or any easier to apply. Seemed the same.

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

If the price was right, I wouldn't mind using it again. It's been a positive experience overall. No complaints 😊

Choosing the colour was easy. I ran out of paint for my bedroom last year and when I went to get more paint ( B&Q colours ) it was discontinued. The colour match was excellent - I had to tear off a small piece of wallpaper to get the colour !

My bedroom because I started it a long time ago and ran out of paint .

It was lovely . I’ve used Valspar before and it was just as good as I remembered it. One coat was enough because I was painting over one shade of light blue with another. It’s very good quality.

There was no unpleasant smell at all

4. Would you consider using Valspar Premium Blend v700™ Walls & Ceilings Paint in your home again? If so, why?

Yes I would. It’s pricier than some others but you pay for quality .

The photo isn’t very good because I took it in the evening . The left hand part is the new paint .

1. I chose a colour as close to white as possible as we were trying to paint over some leaked ceiling and wanted to keep the colour the same as previous. The paint cards helped in the selection.

1. I decorated the child’s bedroom as it suffered a recent leak and there was a patch on the ceiling we needed to paint over.

1. Great quality paint, easy to wash off the brush when I was done and very minimal stain too. There was no need to go over a second coating but we wanted to because we wanted to make it fairly even.

1. Yes I would consider using this paint brand as it’s high quality and easy dry, doesn’t leave the whole house smelling of paint and is long lasting too. I’ve had a previous experience using this when the wall was replaced so I didn’t regret it.

I choose from the colours on the chip rack, very happy with the colour, just what I had in mind. We chose Spiced Latte

Yes definitely, it’s easy to apply, great quality and it can be cleaned without affecting the finish, great when you have kids.

Oh my goodness thank you! I've got a uni student to kit out so that's really helpful.

There was a vast array of colours to choose from and i could only choose the one which was nearest to my choice of colour the service i got was not helpful

It needed a double coat and i felt it was a rather thin paint and quality was rather poor

No as its too expensive and did not met my expectations
