Low-carb bootcamp

New Year, New Start Week 2: This WoE works!

Welcome to Week 2 - the one where many of us (especially the newbies) will see the biggest drops. For those that don't, the drops will come. We will have seen other benefits too: brighter eyes, smaller waist (with the reduction of dangerous visceral fat from around our organs) - and all without feeling hungry Smile Week 2 is also when I find that my pschological urge to snack reduces.

Remember that you still need to adhere to the Rules. This is not a forgiving Way of Eating and if you cheat, you will set back the process of getting your body to adapt to fat burning. Only one more week of being ultra strict - it is only one more week Smile If you're thinking of cheating, come on here and we will talk you down. It really helps if you are prepared and have low carb snacks with you, or drink some water when you think you are hungry.

Keep drinking the required water ( StuntNun has explained why this is important). Avoid nuts and seeds (unless you are veggie), all fruit (you can look forward to the odd treat of berries from next week) - and no alcohol or artificial sweetender for another week.

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here to remind you to keep to the straight and narrow with the Rules and with resources to advise you. You can weigh-in if you choose to, but it is not compulsory. Over the weeks, your weight loss will start to average 1-2lb a week, sometimes more sometimes less .

The Week 1 Spillover thread is here.

Morning! Have weighed myself this morning - 3.5lbs off (but I'm calling it 3lbs). Definite reduction in bloating.

Looking forward to Week 2. Glad the weekend is over, because I find weekdays so much easier.

SoMuchToBits · 15/01/2018 08:17

Thank you, prettybird!

I have stayed the same, but as I've been low carbing for a while, I'm happy with that. Still the same weight as before Christmas, so I'm just pleased that not much damage was done over the festive season!

Expecting to see some good losses from those new to this WOE though. Smile

RaindropsAndSparkles · 15/01/2018 08:23

Just marking place. Couldn't get spreadsheet to work this morning. I was 3.5lb down am Friday and was 1lb down this morning Confused

Alwaysinmyheart · 15/01/2018 08:24

Place marking. Just had a sausage and a cup of tea with almond milk. Well done to everyone with their fantastic weight losses! 💜

MaudesMum · 15/01/2018 08:26

Morning! I'm 4lbs down, about which I am very pleased! Has inspired me especially with the not-drinking thing, which has always been one of my challenges.

IAmSamSamlAm · 15/01/2018 08:30

Morning everyone! Am 8lb down! Chuffed Grin it's my birthday in 2 days, and is the last one I'll be spending fat now I've found this WOE. Can't thank you all enough for introducing it to me.

prettybird · 15/01/2018 08:31

(Picking up on comments from the end of the last thread)

Snowysnowsnow - 1.6kg is still over 3lb Shock, even if you did start the previous Saturday. That is a sustainable rate of weight loss and even if some of us get a big initial whoosh, it will settle down to 1-2lb per week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Just think what would have happened if you hadn't started with WoE: you would still be the same weight or even up 1kg with your period due Shock

Jings - don't be disappointed if your weight loss only ends up averaging 1lb/week. That is still 10lb over Boot Camp. Keep going and that's 52lb in a year! Grin I've given myself a target of 5lb/month over the next 4 months to get to a particular weight by my 20th wedding anniversary on 16 May. If I can achieve more, I'll be delighted but I'm not going to get hung up about it.

Could someone add mine please -134. That’s 3lb on but I can swear I haven’t cheated. I’m looking and feeling better tho so think it’s just one of those things. I’m eating more than I usually would (proper structured meals I mean, not huge amounts) so think it’s a case of things evening out. Been walking miles each day too.

No breakfast for me, haven’t decided on lunch but dinner tonight is fish and broccoli Smile

Have a great day all

Rshard · 15/01/2018 08:40

Some great weight losses, NSV’s and of course kokoing!!!

I’m weighing in tomorrow and am hoping to be on the thread a bit more.

vintagebella · 15/01/2018 08:41

Just 1.5lbs for me. Expected as I've been low carb for nearly a year and have stayed the same since October - even over Christmas, a new first for me!

I do need to lose a further 3 stone though so will continue boot camp this week and then may shake things up a bit with some fasting.

KOKO everyone, I don't post often but read you all for inspiration Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 15/01/2018 09:00

Good morning all. I'm 1.2lb down this week. I had seen as much as 2.6lb mid-week but I think that was a lucky weigh in fluke and invalid. Happy enough with it.

My goal this Bootcamp is to get into the 180s and away from the 195-200 dance I've been doing since getting into "one-derland" as they somewhat annoyingly call it on the Biggest Loser.

I've been shifting the same five pounds for a few months now. It's been frustrating but I'm telling myself that clearly my body needed time to adjust (as did my head, to be honest). Psychologically it's a big thing for me.

As a teenager I hit my highest weight of just under 200lbs then lost it over time. It was one of those "never again" journeys so whenpost childrenI not only climbed back up there but surpassed it by a few stones to achieve 236, well...

As I said, my head needed time. This is my third Bootcamp. And the good news is the weight I've lost is staying off, even when I'm eating BC Light or eating BC Maintenance Mode (for lack of a better phrase). My way of eating is always LCHF to varying degrees, and it's working.

In other news, my husband is a newbie to this and has lost 5 lbs in the first week. Envy Wink. Grin

YoLoHogwomanay · 15/01/2018 09:04

I'm a pound up. been bouncing around a certain number all week so expected to STS at today's weigh in. I don't like today's number so I'll record my weight tomorrow instead. because I am deluding myself Wink

ShagMeRiggins · 15/01/2018 09:04

Wait, no. 6lbs. Angry

Ha ha ha!

Mimosa1 · 15/01/2018 09:06

Starting the week at 76.1kg. First weigh in on my very fancy new scales (so fancy I can't work out how to measure body fat or hydration!). I'll officially use this as my starting weight. I'm in my way in to work clutching a big bottle of water. Congratulations to all those who have completed week 1 on NSVs and SVs alike.

ShagMeRiggins · 15/01/2018 09:07

YoLo Grin

BerylStreep · 15/01/2018 09:07

Morning all, 4lbs off for me this week, but I think it is to do with being so unwell. I'm claiming it anyway. I'm now well into the 14s.

Hope everyone else has had a good week.

ilovecherries · 15/01/2018 09:08

Morning campers! Well done to those who've had a loss and for those that haven't - KOKO and it WILL happen. I don't think I ever really had a whoosh but all these 1lbs a week have now added up to 60lbs. Good luck in week 2.

Twoo · 15/01/2018 09:10

Good Morning All

Well done to all you ladies who have lost, it’s inspiring to know this woe works.

I’ve kept to plan. 1lb off then back on pattern all week.

Start weight 11stones. Weighed today and I’m 10stone 13 which I’m claiming as I’ve worked so hard.

I’m going to be weighing weekly from today. These will be my macros today

My intended meals today are:-

B - 2 boiled eggs, mayo, Parmesan.

L - Feta salad & mayo

D - Cauli cheese & 2 Heck sausages.

I coffee with cream then black coffee and my 3 litres of water.

I think I need to calorie count too. Any thoughts on this? Is it a good idea?

Can someone be so kind as to enter my weight loss on the spreadsheet of fabulousness please Grin

I wanted to give a huge thank you to PrettyBird for running this bc . It must be so hard to respond to everyone and you are doing a sterling job!

I've read all the threads last week but find that by the time I have got to a particular post, it's too late to respond or comment because loads of others already have so I don't have much to add, and the topics of conversation have moved on. feel like I'm playing catch up the whole time!

it's obviously a full time job being on bc prettybird!! But I did offer to run a week at some point, so if you do need me then I will clear my diary for that week!

In terms of food, I'm off to the recipe thread. Getting bored of the same old meals. think I might try a Swede dauphinoise as my celeriac one is such a hit.

Twoo · 15/01/2018 09:11

Oups sorry I missed my broccoli off for my D.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 15/01/2018 09:12

After a very slow start to the week and thinking I wasn't going to get a big whoosh this time I seem to have lost 4lbs since yesterday and am now 8lbs down in total!

Very happy with that. Pretty sure it's not going to stick but today is weigh day so I'll take it! Grin

Twoo · 15/01/2018 09:12

2 down for me. Pleased since I have been low carbing for a while - I'm hoping this is the bootcamp I drop at least half a stone. I need to get into the 10s so I can better aim mentally to get into the 9s! Good luck everyone this week Smile

mummymacphee · 15/01/2018 09:29

7.8lbs off for me! Delighted with that but even more pleased that I have managed to stick to the rules for a whole week without any little cheats. I have really enjoyed reading the threads and they have given me inspiration and distraction in moments of weakness!

I really want this to be the start of a long term change in my eating habits so just need to KOKO now!

ShagMeRiggins · 15/01/2018 09:33

Twoo please don't calorie count! I don't think it will help you at all at this stage. And frankly I'm dubious about the benefit provided by that macro counter thingy. How is it helping you? Hmm

Your menu looks good. Just stick to the plan, eat your delicious food, and fucking enjoy it. Grin
