Looking for luvely ladies with long cycles who want to swap tips on how to shorten your cycle..doesnt matter how bonkers I ve tried it all !😘

My cycles are between 60 and 80 days. I'll take any advice you've got. I was considering soy for my next one, have you tried it?

thisisouryrfx18 Tue 17-Apr-18 17:32:49

Welcome @Aph413 ! No havent heard of that tbh so far ive just been trying to exercise, eat more healthy in general, take iron supplements, conception vits and drinking raspberry leaf tea. Google doesnt seem to help much so how does the soy work is it a supplement or do you just eat more soy products?

thisisouryrfx18 Tue 17-Apr-18 17:33:22

Oh yeah and upping my vitamin c intake supposedly helps

Aph413 Tue 17-Apr-18 17:42:43

Soy isoflavones supposedly work a little like clomid and can help bring ovulation forward which will in turn shorten your cycle. You'll have more luck googling soy isoflavones than just soy but I forgot to use the full term for it blush

And I'm back! grin. Honestly so far I've only tried weightloss diet and vitamins. I've got b13 folic acid vitamin d and evening primrose oil. Oh and so much grapefruit juice. I'm tempted by acupuncture but I seemed to remember reading something about it stopping you giving blood unless it was done somewhere registered? Not 100% on that. May still give it a try even if it just helps me relax
We've been trying for 8 months now but that's only been 3 cycles so far.
How long are your cycles?

thisisouryrfx18 Tue 17-Apr-18 21:07:19

42 days on average but the last one was 33 days which was a miracle! wonder if anything im doing is making a difference or if it was just a flook lol cant believe how long yours are have you just came off the pill or are they always that long?

Aph413 Tue 17-Apr-18 23:16:17

I had the mirena coil removed in August after 5 years, no periods in that time but before that my cycles were a wonderful 29 days.

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 07:37:42

@Aph413 thats gd at least it shows your body was regular before the coil I think over time it will shorten I know thats not much use just now when ur ttc its soo frustrating isnt it? I ve always had long cycles thought it was gd when I was younger less periods if only I knew the grief it would cause later on lol

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 09:30:02

If I'd known before the coil I don't think I would've had it. Or maybe a non hormonal one. Its so incredibly frustrating, how long have you been trying now?

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 10:06:05

On and off for 2yrs now! Between health problems and family troubles things keep gettin in the way but im on cd4 ive been reading up on the soy and im getting really excited bout what ive read im gonna go buy some today and start taking it asap lol what cd are you on? Are you gonna try it this cycle?

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 10:08:33

Yh ive read about a lot of ppl on here saying the same about all sorts of contraceptives messing with their cycles. Im lucky in a warped way that the pill etc give me really bad migraines so ive not been on anything like that for about 7yrs we were just using condoms and the withdrawl method.

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 10:27:46

I'm on cycle day 34 out of a predicted 60 so I'm going to wait for the next one to try soy. I also spent £150 on the ovusense monitor to see if that will help me pinpoint ovulation.
Good luck with the soy, are you getting it from Tesco?

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 11:08:20

Thanks yh im gonna try and get some from tesco today..ovusense monitor hmmm need to google that aswell lol i was just trying to order clearblue ovulation tests from wowcher apparently theyr on it just now. Have you tried vit c to shorten your cycle the only different thing i done last cycle was taking vit c and iron and like i said my cycle was shorter worth a try eh?

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 11:09:33

Do you use ovulation apps? some girls on another thread have told me fertility friend, flow and ovia are gd

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 11:16:53

I got the clear blue tests from groupon. They arent the dual hormone ones pictured but theyre still cheaper

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 11:19:09

Ovusense is a wearable internal thermometer that syncs with an app. I wake up at different times so I figured I'd give this ago. Should be £199 but I found the code SPRING that gave me 25% off so I went for it.
I haven't tried adding vitamin C but I might now. How much difference has it made to you?

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 11:56:58

Thats a really gd idea im the same i was gonna start temping but working all different hrs i dnt think itd b accurate, is it comfortable tho i tend to use pads rather than tampons. Well my cycle was 9days shorter this month taking the iron and vit c and ive got af atm and it seems slightly lighter. Fx this isnt just a total coincidence lol

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 16:53:00

Ive been reading a really interesting article on soy says not to eat soy during your fertile week. Crazy that it helps ovulation but later on in your cycle it seems to damage sperm.

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 19:08:10

I haven't received mine yet but I'll let you know. I hate tampons so I'm hoping this is comfortable but to be honest I'll do anything to get pregnant now.

thisisouryrfx18 Wed 18-Apr-18 20:44:19

I know the feeling trust me! Im on loads of threads its the only thing within our control suppose what we eat/drink and temping. Got my soy just bout to take yous use preseed or anything? Im wondering if taking soy with all the other vits im taking at the minute will counteract off to doc google again lol😆

Aph413 Wed 18-Apr-18 21:36:42

I've got fertile check gel from boots grin. Debating if I should start my evening primrose oil again. I think I must rattle when I walk
