I’ve just been reading another thread where lots of posters talk about how attractive they were when slimmer, as though being overweight is out of their control!

I definitely don’t want to come across as negative or patronising, but for the vast majority of people (excluding those with health needs, of course), weight is entirely within your control!

I’ve always been moderately slim, but in the last few years I’ve lost about 3 stone. At almost 40 I’m the smallest I’ve ever been! To achieve that I;

Got into yoga.
Eat less calories than I burn (monitored on fitness tracker)
Swim and weight train sometimes.
Drink less alcohol.
Will do random, ad hoc exercise through the day, squats whilst the stirring the food etc.

So many people seem sad about their weight gain on here, but it’s absolutely a choice! If you’re unhappy change it! It’s absolutely possible Grin

Oh gosh, what a wonderful idea. I wonder why all the overweight people in the world hadn't thought of that before HmmBiscuit

yearinyearout · 17/06/2019 21:33

😂😂😂

Iwalkedaway · 17/06/2019 21:34

I’m sure not everyone who is overweight is unhappy with that, just wanted to inspire those who are unhappy to make a change! Life is too short to be unhappy about something that is so easy to resolve Blush

But thats the point..its easier said than done

VladmirsPoutine · 17/06/2019 21:36

"Squats whilst stirring the food" Grin Thanks for the laugh and the inspiration OP Grin

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 17/06/2019 21:36

You really are that stupid aren't you?! 😂😂😂😂😂

Tinyteatime · 17/06/2019 21:37

Depends on your priorities. I like to whinge about that last half stone of baby weight I need to shift but I’d also rather eat and drink what I like right now. Good for you though OP.

Vibiano · 17/06/2019 21:38

Wow, that is all totally new information. Mind blown.

Stealth boast OP Hmm

Iwalkedaway · 17/06/2019 21:39

Is it stupid to point out how easy it would be to improve a situation that makes so many people sad? It’s about deciding what you want and taking ownership, I think!

I knew this wouldn’t go well, but the other thread made me want to explicitly point it out!

I’m not going to take offence to angry comments. Even if one person decides to make a change from this, I’ll be pleased Grin

Oh cheers!! Can you cure my eating disorder, my PTSD and my disabilities? Fingers crossed here, as I'm obese and am clearly choosing to be that way! Can't wait to hear from you, OP.....

Beesandcheese · 17/06/2019 21:40

Just self publish on Amazon I am sure you've hit on a unique selling point there Hmm

Iwalkedaway · 17/06/2019 21:40

And definitely not a stealth boast, I promise, I just wanted to point out how easy it is once you decide it’s what you really want.

Cool story bro

lovelylondonsky · 17/06/2019 21:42

I personally lost 5 stone just by doing lunges whilst waiting for the kettle to boil

speakout · 17/06/2019 21:42

Katie Hopkins- is that you?

goodwinter · 17/06/2019 21:42

I agree... although the emotional/habitual side of overeating is the key thing for a lot of people, and can be incredibly difficult to get past (moreso emotional eating, as it's often tied up with issues of trauma, mental health, low self-esteem, etc).

Weight loss is almost always possible, and it's simple, but it's often not easy.

Vibiano · 17/06/2019 21:43

@speakout lol!

Kukumbr · 17/06/2019 21:43

You mean it’s that easy? Wow. Thanks for the insight. Biscuit

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 17/06/2019 21:43

Keep digging OP, please, this is the best laugh I've had in ages! 😂😂😂😂😂

Clankboing · 17/06/2019 21:43

It's not possible to practise squats whilst working though...

BornInAThunderstorm · 17/06/2019 21:43

Hi Op, assuming your life is just like mine I’d like to know what you do with your autistic ds while you’re doing all the swimming and weight training, what with you also being a single parent who works school hours?

Sandybval · 17/06/2019 21:44

You are correct.
