AIBU?

Sainsburys is posh, isn't it?

I mean it is toward the upper end of Poshness isn't it? Coming after Harrods food hall, Selfridge food hall, Booths, M&S, Waitrose then Sainsbury's.

Artisan shops and veg box deliveries probably come between M&S and Waitrose I reckon?

It's definitely posher than Tesco.

I don't know why I've done this op actually. I am so not unreasonable.

Nope it's not posh. Neither is m&s or waitrose, they are simply slightly more expensive supermarkets.

YANBU.

I've been in there once. I felt out of place. I swear there's a dress code.

I hate that Harrods and Sainsburys come up as clicky links. Sad

Yep
It doesn't even have its own brand value vodka.

YANBU. In my head, it goes:
Farmers' market
M&S
Waitrose
Sainsbury's
Tesco
Asda / Morrison's
Aldi
Lidl

(Although lots of Aldi-ers are pretty posh, these days.)

The one in my town centre is not posh. Expensive but not posh.

It's over priced. My Sainsburys is empty; they built a superstore in the middle of a rather impoverished council estate. No one can afford to shop there, they all go to Lidl over the road.

I dunno, but where I live they have a really hot delivery guy, so I will continue ordering from thereGrin

No it isn't. I'd say it's the same as Tesco

"Yep

It most certainly does.

Definitely not posh, but I'd say they'd rank as:

Waitrose
Sainsburys
Tesco
Morrisons
Asda
Lidl/Aldi and that sort of thing.

Not posh here. At all. And we don't have a Waitrose. Here, the smartest people get their food from the local organic butchers and farm shops. Eggs from their own hens and so on.

Me? I get my food shop from Sainsbury's. Definitely not posh.

Aldi confuses me. Of late my Aldi is full of people who are usually seen in M&S.

Not posh really but def more upmarket than Asda/Tesco

I don't think it's posh or expensive at all

I prefer it to Tesco but that's because I'm a bit of a Tesco hater. But I think of them as the same bog standard supermarket.

No I wouldn't say sainsbos is posh Grin

It's not posh but I think the secret is the lighting. Tesco always feels harsh and bright but Sainsbury's is dimmer.

PamBagnallsGotACollage · 05/02/2017 19:04

four eyes I'd list them in this order...

Waitrose
M and S
Tesco
Sainsbury's
Morrison's
Aldi
Lidl
Asda

Sainsbury's is definitely not posh - that awful orange signage really lets it down.

I don't think so. I would rank it alongside Tesco. I don't get the MN snootness towards Asda BTW. I can get more ethnic foods from the Asda near where I work than my local Tesco or Morrisons.

No, it's not posh at all, just ordinary. Although it is becoming more expensive, but aren't they all.
