Anyone doing Cassandra’s new 30 day challenge?

Stepbreathesweep · 01/09/2025 21:05

Hello all. Thanks for the new thread @Poisonwood. First day back today and did my 10 min session this morning. ✅. Inset day today so sat on my bum all day so I went for a run instead of evening yoga.

SisterMaryLuke · 01/09/2025 21:20

narniabusiness I started Kassandras 30 day yogalates challenge today - short but sweet. I also did Charlie Follows latest practice which I really enjoyed.

narniabusiness · 01/09/2025 21:28

I did it too @SisterMaryLuke. Really enjoyed it.

MsSmartShoes · 01/09/2025 21:32

Following for inspiration.

Shavasana · 01/09/2025 21:35

I’ve been a bit lazy recently only doing a few minutes of easy stretch poses every day but today I did a 55 minute video on strength and balance and loved it ❤️

Poisonwood · 01/09/2025 22:35

@gardensparkle I love walking meditation, especially barefoot.

Hello everyone else!
I did yoga by the fire 🔥 tonight and it was very relaxing…especially my restorative Savasana! I use a bolster behind my knees every time nowadays and I love it so much. If anyone hasn’t tried it that way I really recommend giving it a go.

An hour and a half of YWA, the cosiness feels fitting as autumn is the anniversary of me discovering Yoga, through Yoga With Adriene at the beginning.

Managed my planned yoga 'bookends' today. 10 min morning yoga with Cassandra and then 20 min flow with YWA after another long inset day. Children in school tomorrow so I will really need it after that!!!

gardensparkle · 02/09/2025 22:00

Lovely evening yoga flow and meditation ❤️💕❤️ feeling so much gratitude for the gift of yoga in my life xxx

Poisonwood · 02/09/2025 22:21

@Stepbreathesweep I bet the bookends do you the world of good.

@gardensparkle here, here!

Taught my first meditation class tonight, nerve-wracking but it went smoothly which is a relief.

How lovely
What meditation techniques/ practices did you teach ? Xx

PatienceOfEngels · 03/09/2025 10:48

Thanks for the new thread @Poisonwood !

YWA Breath day 8 Snuggle.

Struggling with my pf at the moment (it's overstressed so flares up when stressed or anxious) so trying to fit in pf/relaxation exercises at least twice a day.

Poisonwood · 03/09/2025 23:05

@PatienceOfEngels if you haven’t done it recently, it sounds like YWA Yoga for Comfort and Nourishment may help with the flare up.

I did YWA heart chakra practice then half an hour of sun A/B but felt very distracted. Tried to observe with non judgement, went to have a hot bath afterwards attempting to destress a little more and discovered we’ve got no hot water. I was a little tense by then 😂.

PatienceOfEngels · 04/09/2025 05:48

Thanks @Poisonwood will check it out.

gardensparkle · 04/09/2025 20:25

Yoga flow aligning with the elements❤️💕❤️

Jumbojem · 04/09/2025 21:51

Evening all! I am aiming to be more consistent with yoga now the days are getting shorter. I prefer to run, walk, garden over the summer and don't manage to squeeze much yoga in.
After saying I was going to cancel the sarah beth app I've been enjoying this months calendar. Lots of balancing poses, tree, Eagle, dancer and the challenge of holding these, and not doing the same old flows, has been a delight. I even attempted the introduction to crow, though I couldn't do it all, arms and core too weak.
Intending to start going to in person yoga this winter, but want to get a bit stronger in my core and upper body first so need to keep consistency up.
What's Kassandra's 30 day challenge like? I may try that when I've cancelled SB. Will probably also revert to YWA, I wonder if she will put anything out in Jan? I think she did a 7 day series this Jan? I do like to follow a calendar or challenge as I waste yoga time faffing about deciding what to do, or choose the same quick and easy practices otherwise!

Poisonwood · 04/09/2025 22:13

@Jumbojem I know Charlie Follows is putting out a January 30 day; she’s very good. I’ve not tried any of Kassandra’s but she was a guest lecturer on my YTT and was so knowledgeable and approachable.

Did an hour of Hatha, really enjoying the longer holds.

SisterMaryLuke · 05/09/2025 11:30

I'm not particularly enjoying Kassandra's new 30 day yogalates challenge. I find 10-15 a bit too short and I've discovered I'm not keen on pilates. I shall continue with CF and Kassandra's yin practices.

Poisonwood · 05/09/2025 18:21

@SisterMaryLuke I’m the same with Pilates.

30min pranayama, meditation and Shavasana today. Feeling flat needed some rest. Even had a wee afternoon snooze which is incredibly rare.

Poisonwood · 06/09/2025 22:49

2hrs of vinyasa today, slow and steady. Did me the world of good.

New job anxiety getting the better this morning so I did a nice YWA morning flow. She is so calming and I really appreciated the simplicity of her flow today.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Jumbojem · 07/09/2025 21:11

Good luck for the new job! @Stepbreathesweep
I managed no yoga this weekend, but my hip is super sore from running so probably should have.
Oh thanks @Poisonwood I will look out for CF Jan 30 days, I do love a challenge to help with January blues and find them a great way to kick off the year.
Hatha was the style of yoga I started with 20 years ago when I went to an in person class, along with iyengar, flow wasn't so popular as it is now, and yoga had to be a workout in the 2010s, with the likes of Bikram being associated with celebrities. It's quite fascinating how even "yoga" has changing trends as attitudes to heath and wellbeing shift over time.

Poisonwood · 07/09/2025 23:07

I agree @Jumbojem, yoga fashion is fascinating. Locally, it’s Yin everywhere at the minute.
@Stepbreathesweep they are calming aren’t they. Hope your new job jitters go soon.

Did an hour kundalini. Tiring.
