They expect you to turn up on time, do as they request and be friendly. I'd offer to make tea once in a while if there's not alot of staff. Load the photocopier with paper if it's running low. Don't moan about your boss, you may be unwittingly talking to their brother (I learned this the hard way).

Well done though!

Bit off topic, but Katy did you decide whether you were going to do something via Open Uni? I'm applying for the level 4 in Early Years Practice

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 13:38

Yep I think I'm doing this & this

But I need another level 2 and another level 3 which I can't decide

Be aware of, but do not get involved in the office politics.

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 13:44

Turn up on time I can do

Very large office so no tea

Don't slag people off - hmm that could be hard

Have I taken on too much?

It'll be fine. Try not to worry.

I've been accepted onto a funded course by the way so I don't have to look for a job.

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 13:51

Congratulations - that is good news

AvenaLife · 29/08/2008 13:52

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 13:54

Don't take your home troubles to work.

Make tea.

Don't shag the boss.

Good luck!

Figment · 29/08/2008 14:23

Okay, calm down you can poo, just not leave an odour behind.

Air-freshner?

Cappuccino · 29/08/2008 14:24

what made you even think of that?

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 14:24

Umm - will I need airfreshner? (I'm not a man you know)

Or is this one of those things that you can't smell your own?

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 29/08/2008 14:26

stop thinking about the pooing

make sure you have your own teabags hidden in case theirs are vile

Cappuccino · 29/08/2008 14:27

don't fall asleep at your desk

don't chew things loudly

don't have pictures of your kids in wetsuits on your desk

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 14:27

Oh yes

Tea bags, mug, cheap spoon - should I take a tub of sugar?

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 29/08/2008 14:27

DO NOT say "is it okay if I poo"

Cappuccino · 29/08/2008 14:28

'cheap spoon'?

oh I am out of my league now I have no crested family silverware

KatyMac · 29/08/2008 14:28

It's not exactly something I have a choice in so I certainly won't be asking permission
