Is it weird if coworkers see you naked?

And before you come at me... I mean at the gym.

My company got a very good membership deal with a gym across the road from the office. I am 2 years pp and I am starting to want to lose the baby weight (I can't use the "I just had a baby" excuse any more!!).

So we got a week trial before signing up and I planned to go on my lunch break, run for a bit and do some strenght training, stretching etc. I only get 1 hour lunch so I want to fit in about 40 mins exercise and some time to get changed and return. I can then eat lunch at my desk while I work.

Here is my issue... If many of my coworkers sign up to go to the gym, I will have to get changed while some of them are there at the same time. I have only been at this job for 2 months so it's not like we are buddies. I am still quite reserved at the office. I don't have issues with my body, but I cringe a bit on the idea that people I see every day would have seen me naked. I do need to change all my clothes down to my underwear. I could change at the provate cubicles, but I usually juct change in front of my locker to save time.

So what does everyone think??

It’s not as if any of your colleagues are going to catch more than a glimpse of bare skin out of the corner of their eye. They’re not going to stand stock still with eyes locked on your groin. Some of my colleagues use my gym and I couldn’t care less. They have bodies, just like I do.

Honestly it wouldn’t bother me but if it does you then just use the cubicle.

I've worked multiple places where there are separate showers but just one communal changing area (sex segregated) so have been seen naked and seen naked colleagues. Lots of people cycled to work so the showers were quite well used. It never bothered me.

But then I've swam plenty in Denmark where naked communal showers before and after swimming are the norm.

Once had a totally naked senior manager (who was scandinavian and much less hung up than us brits) walk up and ask me advice on something while I was changing. I got over it, but it was a big uncomfortable.

Use a cubicle if one is available. For when it's not, get one of those beach changing robes. It's like a huge poncho made of towelling fabric. Job done.

I don't do communal changing room - afraid I would cause too much arousal or jealousy!

I don't understand the full nudity piece, can you not just do the under towel shimmy like the rest of us non exhibitions?

I work with mainly men. Nope, they will never see me naked.

I’d always use a cubicle regardless of whether I know anyone.

Disclaimer: i am in Germany and they will get naked at the drop of a hat (single sex changing rooms)

we had this where i worked, and a few of us would go at lunchtime, shower then go back to work. The only person who got chaged in the toilet cubicle and didn't shower (because EW NAKED WOMEN!) was the one that other people commented on (we didn't, we were all focussed on getting dressed asap and back to work.

How do you know that was the reason, though? They might have medical things that they don’t want to reveal - a mastectomy, a stoma bag, a catheter?

Would be weird in the conference room. Not weird at the gym changing rooms. Everyone concentrates on what they are doing and in that environment you don't really pay attention to the naked people around you.

That's why they are there!

I don’t want to see anyone in the altogether, hate lack of privacy when changing. I live in Germany and you will never, ever find me in a sauna.

Meh. I cycle to work and shower and change in the cyclist changing rooms there. I don't make a point of walking around naked, but no I don't really care if anybody sees me. I have the same bits as everyone else; what is there to be noticed? Why would it make any difference to me if I see a colleague unclothed? She has a body, I have a body.

Of you haven't got time for a cubicle get a changi g towel robe... Decathlon do one... Not pretty but quite cheap... Chuck on as come out shower its towelling so dries you and much easier to change under

I’m Swedish and I’m really struggling to understand what the issue is with getting changed in the same room as your female colleagues. What do you think will happen? We all have a naked body and there is nothing unprofessional about getting changed. Also please shower, for the sake of the whole office. Especially since you’ll be running at the gym.

I once worked somewhere with a gym and I saw a woman whom I worked with completely starkers and she had the biggest knockers I’ve ever seen in my life. The image has never left me. I didn’t know where to look but she insisted on talking about work stuff with me in there. There were no cubicles. You have cubicles, why would you not use them? Don’t leave the image of your breasts and muff ingrained in a coworkers mind forever.

Can you not just wriggle your pants and bra on under a huge wrap-around towel like a normal person? 😂

Use the cubicle, you might have to cut back your workout by 5mins to factor in a wait at the cubicle otherwise can you not just walk back across the road to your office in your gym gear and change in the toilets or would that just draw attention to the fact you didn’t want to get changed in the gym

I think I'd only bother changing underwear if I was showering
