How long for enhanced DBS?

Has anyone had an enhanced DBS recently, and if so how long did it take? It was only received by them five days ago so I’m probably being impatient, however my friend who has got the exact same job just got hers back after three days!

I have been googling (I know!) and am reading stories of people waiting 6-8 weeks plus! If anyone can reassure me of recent quick turnaround times I would be very grateful! I have dreamt of this job for a long time and am keen to get started!

Mine was 5 weeks on Monday , mines been at stage 4 since 19/7. Its so frustrating as im on update service too. Can i ask what area of country your in ? Im north west.

I’m in the southwest. Still nothing today. I’m refreshing the updates page almost compulsively now 😬

Yesterday I emailed my local police and a lovely man just phoned me back. My application isn’t even with them yet. He said that it will be with another force where some has the same name and dob as me. Which could be several as in basically have one of the most bloody common names.

I can’t see this happening for me in time for my new job. I just pray I don’t lose it.

He suggested calling DBS and telling them that I’m worried for my job, when I call it hangs up and says to use webchat but unsurprisingly webchat doesn’t work 😩😩

So I’ve tried all the options on the phone and I appear to be on hold to disputes, I doubt they’ll be able to help but I can’t just do nothing.

You couldn’t make this up. Got through on the phone and was told they have no access to applications until Monday!

In the meantime I’ve emailed my new employers and asked them if there is a contingency.

I finally got a bit of good news , my certificate was printed 🙂 how long does it take to arrive in post any one know ? Thanks

Mines still at stage 4 😬

Spoke to my future employer and they have 12 new starters all in the same boat.

Finally cleared stage 4 and 5 is in progress! Hoped I’ll have it in time for my new job next week!

I finally got my certificate in the post today 🙂 very nervous waiting such a long time thinking it would never come. Role on new job in september now

Mines been dispatched but is now held up by the postal strikes 🙄 My first day is Wednesday, I can only cross my fingers for a Tuesday delivery !

Applied for dbs enhanced and is stuck at stage 4 6 weeks, had one before and only moved the once in 6 years, had a clean one 3 years ago contacted police said chassing it up stillnot heard although keep tracking it getting beyond a joke waiting about

Hello! I know this is a fairly old thread but I'm hoping someone can help me!
I've applied for a school role -DBS completed in about 14 days. Today when I logged on the the gov website to check if certificate printed it says 'Important Notice, Please wait for the certificate before making a recruitment, emploment or licencsing decision regarding this applicant' Is this a standard message or should I begin to panic that there is something on there that i definitely dont know about !!!!

And anyway, there can't be anything that you don't know about on your dbs, it just records convictions etc, you can't have committed a crime and been found guilty without noticing!

Did this come back clear I have the same message
