How long for enhanced DBS?

Has anyone had an enhanced DBS recently, and if so how long did it take? It was only received by them five days ago so I’m probably being impatient, however my friend who has got the exact same job just got hers back after three days!

I have been googling (I know!) and am reading stories of people waiting 6-8 weeks plus! If anyone can reassure me of recent quick turnaround times I would be very grateful! I have dreamt of this job for a long time and am keen to get started!

I think it does depend on where you are, how busy they are there etc. I'm N.E England and just got mine back last week, took 6 weeks.

Yeah there is somekind of delay im not sure why. I put mine in early May. Rang to check on fri and there was a msg saying current wait times expected to be up to 90 something working days. Thats a long time... nearly 5 months is it? I really hope its not that long! Good luck everyone in getting yours. Its reassuring that people aren't waiting that long tho.

Mine went in 3 weeks ago and it's at stage 4, hoping for it completed this week so I can start my new job on Monday! I'll update when it's through.

O that's a shame, was just hoping they popped accepted your checked details, could see you had been checked before and there was no new information to be added and reprinted certificate. It sounds like it's the police stage that is the hold up, must be a nuisance if you have to have done yearly!

Yes very annoying. You can track it online and see which stage it's at. Think the local police check is the final stage. I googled and it said the police in my area had a backlog and would aim to have them done within 60 days! Totally ridiculous. Luckily it came through without me having to wait the 60 days.

Well mine only done online on Saturday so no news here and I dont have access to the tracking so have no idea how long!

I used driving license, passport and council tax bill from this year as ID.

I used same ID as @Reelin also have no access to the tracking. Still waiting and it's now been 4 weeks, If not back tomorrow I'll miss my start date on Monday. Nothing unusual to check about me either! Always lived same county etc.

Can I join, another one here waiting. Mine seems to be stuck at "awaiting countersigning" been at that since Monday. So I believe mine hasn't even been sent to dbs yet.

Frustrating as I only did my renewal last September, but have a new role within the same trust 🤷‍♀️.

Mine is all done, certificate printed, my trust notified and have received my unconditional offer for my post.

Hope everyone else isn't waiting to long 🤞

I submitted everything last Monday, it sat awaiting countersigning till Friday, then they emailed to say there was a spelling error with my middle name. Corrected that and resubmitted Friday evening, then had notification today to say it was done and had unconditional offer today.

So 1 week all together but would of been quicker had I not made the spelling error.
