I have two jobs, I teach and I also work in family support, I love both my jobs as I know they both enable me to make a difference to my local community and help people from backgrounds like myself. Both jobs challenge me, in different ways and fit in with my family. I could not ask for more, except maybe a payrise.

Malory Towers supply teaching would be my living hell, are the kids not awful to you? Our supply tend to not come back again if they last the day.

I LOVE my job because it's me-time doing something I'm good at so it comes naturally.

I also like the hours (6AM-9AM) because I can still be at home all day, although my evenings are curtailed.

I work in the Civil Service and one of the great things about my dept for me was that I have had a real variety of jobs - Jack of all Trades -but I now realise that the most important thing is the people. I recently moved to a team where at least three of the team members do not speak to me from Morning to Eve.

I am a chatty sort but I realised that I was initiating every chat and I got the vibe that they would rather not talk so I stopped initiating and it has been days since I have been spoken to by these three. The others are a little better and one is real nice. AAAAGGGHHHHH

I quite like my job because I get to use my rusty brain but it's not too stressful. I also like my hours (although I had to force them to give me flexible working by finding another job and resigning), I do 2 half days from home and 2 full days in the office. I like my boss because he doesn't keep checking up on us but assumes that everyone will do their jobs effectively and to the best of their abilities, so everyone does. I like being able to arrange my own work schedule so I can do easy stuff when I'm knackered and challenging stuff when I'm more alert and muck about surfing the net when I've finished.

On the other hand there isn't all that much variety so sometimes it can be boring. Occasionally short deadlines can mean I have to work extra days. I hate commuting (but at least I only do it twice a week now). I don't like the company who bought us a couple of years ago, they seem to want to turn us into a cog in a big, homogenous, global company. The man who sits opposite me sometimes has BO. It's very sedentary so I've put on weight since I went back after my adoption leave.

I pretty much love my job.
i like my boss, every day is different, I work at my own pace, answer to noone, enjoy it so want to make each campaign a great one. Enjoy speaking to the people I speak to, enjoy thinking of new ways to promote something.

I think in a nutshell, I know my job really well, it suits me. I'm good at it so it helps make it enjoyable, and because it's enjoyable I continue being good at it.

Oh and I an do it in 3 days a week and spend the rest of the week at home with my girls

Oh, and my boss just gave me a bonus

I love my job if you can call it that. I run a B&B in Dorset so hard work in the morning doing breakfast and rooms but great in the afternoon, hit the beach or just veg in gardem. You can meet some great people and we have had more than a few drinks with them on more than one occasion Has worked out well with DD so far but will probably get more compicated if another one comes along. Have just started doing Usborne books to get me out an about in the winter but bookings until October so very happy.

I like my job, but only since I went part-time. I'm an optometrist. Working full-time in that dark little room got a bit depressing, but 2 1/2 days a week is perfect. Also, I enjoy working with people, but working the public can get annoying and it's nice to have the break from them.

I have several jobs but I love all of them

I work two days a week

Website design, fundraising, marketing and financial management

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

mainly I love them because none of them involve Play-Doh

Hi Jabberwocky I'm an optom too and also love it. I work 24 hours per week which is OK, really could do with a few hours less but hey-ho can't complain. Do you use theoptom.com forum? Maybe will see you there!

Yes MP. My enjoyment of my job is enhanced by the fact that there's no jam on the keyboard and I'm very unlikely to have to deal with someone elses pooh at any given moment.

OOps sorry forgot the and why bit. It's very satisfying in a problem solving kind of way, difficult to explain but each person generally comes in with a problem and you have to sort it out in a limited time and they can sort of see the result straight away albeit in a trial frame ina a small room, or else you explain the 'answer' to them. It's also very chatty particularly if you have been at the same place for a few years, you get lots of 'regulars', I like watching the kids grow up. It's also VERY varied where I work, lots of pathology, kids, oldies, contact lenses etc etc

I like my job a lot - working with people in deprived areas, employment & raining, childcare, yoof work etc

We have a very flexible employer and I do compressed hours. The people I work with are Luvverly.

The job keeps me very much in the loop; I can also sometimes take the litle monsters with me to events etc

Would like to reduce my hours a little maybe; but am really glad I don't get dragged down by all the playground politics that seem to afflict some of the other Mums I know.

I'm an OT I love my job but I hate the lack of staff and the feeling that I have that I have to work all the time. I feel it is taking a toll on my family life

I'm currently undecided. Somedays I like it & somedays I don't! On the whole it is ok though. It is good in so far as I have been able to improve things in my area & am getting good pay & useful experience. Tis only my first proper job so I can't complain too much.

Would rather do OH's job though!

At the moment I absolutely adore my job! It is nothing to shout about but I've only gone back 6 weeks ago after a year on maternity and those three days feel like a holiday to me. It's ME time. I get to read a few chapter of a book on the tube without little hands pulling at my legs, I get a full hour lunch, I can look at people in the eye when I talk to them, I can sit for a few hours rather than getting dragged about and I'm getting paid for all this! Also when I get home in the evening I've got a husband who shares the chores compared to the other days when he just sits down and watches the news (as I 'just' stayed at home). I get a much better deal when I go out although I find it extremely easier and far more relaxing.

My chilminder feels sorry for me because I have to go to work and cannot be a 100% sahm. 'what?' I'd like to respond. I do not have to go financially but it's a must for my sanity: I'd be on a straightjacket if I could not go!

But who knows, ask me in a few months time and I'll be ranting at my manager (who by the way is brilliant and cares about my baby more than I do, it seems! )

oh, and makes me appreciate and enjoy the days I'm home with DD. Really! I am not saying it out of guilt.
