Our lovely TQ. TwitterQueen. We thought the world of her, she touched the lives of so many and we were all better for it. It was absolutely devastating when she died from ovarian cancer. Fuck cancer. Life was epically cruel to this beautiful woman.

We send our love and thoughts to her wonderful girls of whom she could not be more proud, her love for them shone like the brightest star, and we think of all who love and miss her everyday. We will remember TQ with hearts full and a big smile as we recall her in a dinner plate sized super sparkly badge at our Hugathon in September 2018. Epic!

She was a MNer for many years and will be sorely missed by so many of us here. The love and support she gave to so many folk on the cancer support thread was quite extraordinary, even when she was so ill herself. We were constantly in awe of this wonderful, thoughtful, super intelligent, caring, bloody funny woman. She sought to raise awareness of ovarian cancer which is often called the 'silent killer'. She really wanted more women to be aware of what few symptoms there are and in doing so undoubtedly saved lives.

How lucky we were to know her Thanks

We have offered each of her three daughters a blanket and are so glad they have all accepted, so glad we can all give them a great big Woolly Hug, especially after all the blankets TQ contributed to over the years, she worked so hard to bring comfort to others, whether it was our Mumsnet Woolly Hugs, Candy’s Hugs for women going through treatment for cancer or our ‘Chernobs’ Her compassion was endless. It really is time for her family now.

We hope that you can help us. Thanks

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook. Please knot off VERY carefully when finishing or changing colour and sew your ends in, thank you! Previous blankets can be seen on our website

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

The lovely poster @Shelovesmilktray was friends with TQ for over 25 years and has been very helpful linking us up with her girls. We are truly grateful to her, thank you Thanks

When ready for posting, it will be the Teddington address, if you would like to include a card for TQ's daughters please do.

Raising a few glasses to TQ. We miss her. Wine Wine Wine

Winter that square is amazing!!!

which blue did you use please?

Wintersnowdrop · 15/11/2019 15:38

Aw thanks @ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba. 😊The blue had lost its label but I think it was probably Drops #19.

SoupDragon · 15/11/2019 15:47

The bottoms of those ears aren't manky enough for a cocker spaniel (makes mental note to book SoupDogg into the groomers)

It's great :)

Wintersnowdrop · 15/11/2019 16:32

Haha @SoupDragon 😂, you are right, bit restricted by the yarn specifications!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 15/11/2019 16:54

@bookbook. Total faith 😊

@Wintersnowdrop. That’s a fabulous square, I’m massively impressed!

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba the insomnia is a double edged sword! I get more hours per day than most,but less energy than most! I need to learn to power nap I think 🤣

Lovely squares on the thread so far, and @Wintersnowdrop wow!

I've managed three this weekend, two for TQ's daughters and 1 for Twittlebee. Got a couple of hopefully quiet hours coming up on Wednesday, so hoping to do another one or two then.

There are no photos of SoupDogg that show the full extent of the Great Ears of Mankiness

First set of squares for TQ daughters .
I hope you can see four hearts - with much love in the stitches .
The next lot will take a bit longer , have a bit of construction to do with those - thought to do flowers to match the ones we made earlier .
Winter - beautiful square

I do 💝 getting my orders from Wool Warehouse. It’s such a joy!

I’ve ordered some of the newly permitted KingCole, so I’m interested to see how that feels/knits up. I usually buy the Drops Merino, but I loved the pink & purple in the KC so thought I’d give that a go

I prefer Debbie Bliss Rialto DK but that involves getting my yarn in substandard packaging! 🤣

It was such a shame I didn’t have any suitable yellows or pinks and had to order some 😚

  • Red for - FRT’s in the correct yarn!!

  • ...you can never have too much Drops 19 or silver... and one simply must have some fresh purple....

Lottery ticket purchased for the ‘Woolly Retreat’ cabin! X
