Our lovely TQ. TwitterQueen. We thought the world of her, she touched the lives of so many and we were all better for it. It was absolutely devastating when she died from ovarian cancer. Fuck cancer. Life was epically cruel to this beautiful woman.

We send our love and thoughts to her wonderful girls of whom she could not be more proud, her love for them shone like the brightest star, and we think of all who love and miss her everyday. We will remember TQ with hearts full and a big smile as we recall her in a dinner plate sized super sparkly badge at our Hugathon in September 2018. Epic!

She was a MNer for many years and will be sorely missed by so many of us here. The love and support she gave to so many folk on the cancer support thread was quite extraordinary, even when she was so ill herself. We were constantly in awe of this wonderful, thoughtful, super intelligent, caring, bloody funny woman. She sought to raise awareness of ovarian cancer which is often called the 'silent killer'. She really wanted more women to be aware of what few symptoms there are and in doing so undoubtedly saved lives.

How lucky we were to know her Thanks

We have offered each of her three daughters a blanket and are so glad they have all accepted, so glad we can all give them a great big Woolly Hug, especially after all the blankets TQ contributed to over the years, she worked so hard to bring comfort to others, whether it was our Mumsnet Woolly Hugs, Candy’s Hugs for women going through treatment for cancer or our ‘Chernobs’ Her compassion was endless. It really is time for her family now.

We hope that you can help us. Thanks

I had the pleasure of meeting TQ at the hugathon and do indeed remember her eye-catching name badge! I will make some squares for all of the blankets once my next yarn order turns up.

K&P - will it be okay to use a bit of green on embellishments .Thinking stems of flowers if thats okay?

@ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs - thank you for your faith in me! :) I have a Snugs blanket kit to finish - just the border to do so I can get it sent off asap as the top priority , but I am mulling over what I want to make , so hopefully start at the weekend .

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 15/11/2019 10:47

I need a bit of help with colour choices please.

For light blue would either Drops #19 or Jenny Watson #11 be ok?
both on photo with Drops#24 (yellow)

I had a little search through TwitterQueen1 ‘s posts yesterday and found some lovely quotes of things she said she liked which would be lovely for inspiration imho

“Building sandcastles on the beach was and still is a huge pleasure, even though dcs are adult. Snow, dogs, nature, friends... So much happiness still to experience .”

“Seriously OP, get out there - you know, in life - talk to people, get a job (or a different job), make a difference, volunteer, get a dog. “

Line dancing, walking dog ownership

“would walk for at least an hour every day, and go line-dancing every week. I miss the fresh air and all my dog-walking friends.”
Red wine

“Autumn is my favourite time of the year. Nature is just snuggling down but it's so so exciting leading up to Christmas - Halloween, Guy Fawkes...! Love the cold, the crisp mornings, the frost...”
gorgonzola and cashews
“dude ranching under the starry Montana or Wyoming stars. I've always loved the west US with its wide-open spaces and sense of freedom. “

Cocker spaniel square.

Wintersnowdrop · 15/11/2019 13:07

Just wondering if it’s ok to use any other colours as embellishments? The square I’ve made will be ok for the blue and yellow blanket, but could I do a blue roan cocker (black/grey/ or another yellow) head for one of the other blankets ?

Ginisatonic · 15/11/2019 13:51

I’ll do some squares. I’ve just ordered some wool in suitable colours. TQ Is sadly missed by me.
