We have heard the dreadfully sad news that annandale’s husband died suddenly in February. Mental ill health is such a cruel and devastating illness. Bless his heart. Bless them both. We send annandale our love and are so sorry for her loss. She and their children are in our hearts and thoughts.

We are so glad that she has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, we hope it may give whatever comfort it can. There will be love crafted into every stitch. Annandale’s thread is here… if anyone would like to post condolences.

So we are now asking for help once again. We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) Thank you so much if you can help. If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM us with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, we can help you with all of it.

Thanks

Star For personalisation...
In terms of personalisation - my husband was very sporty, he liked cycling and walking and rowing and cricket and tennis so anything around those would be wonderful. He especially loved planning our walking trips, with multiple maps to hand. He also loved reading and always wore glasses so anything bookish would fit him. We had daffodils at his funeral because it was in March and because he always enjoyed spring flowers.

Squares to be six inches please. Use 4mm needles or hook. Make sure all ends are very securely sewn in. No blocking please as it makes squares harder to join.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

When ready for posting, it will be the Teddington address, if you would like to include a card for annandale, please do, we will pass it on.

Sending so much love to annandale and all who love and miss her DH xxx

K&P you know this thread is in Chat?

MadisonAvenue · 26/04/2018 14:34

K&P I'll put a note on our door asking the postman to knock as the doorbell isn't working. I dread getting the red card of doom.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 26/04/2018 14:51

TQ they always start the threads in Chat for traffic but then later MNHQ will move it to the Woolly Hugs topic :)

TwitterQueen1 · 26/04/2018 17:03

Ah! thanks Leslie! I panicked slightly this am (for about 30 seconds) when I couldn't find it.... Smile

I have done 2 so far - a very limp daffodil and a somewhat elongated bobble heart....

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 26/04/2018 17:38

It's all part of their cunning plan Smile

I'm still on my first square. I seem to crochet very tightly so I am having to add lots of extra rounds to make it the right size Hmm

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/04/2018 18:09

Gosh, quick off the mark ladies! Going wool shopping tomorrow for this. Tonight it will be snug squares...

bookbook · 26/04/2018 19:44

Evening
managed to get another square done. I'm doing a bit of knitting in between crochet .
Twitter hope you are coping
Madison - hah! ring the bell - mine I am sure wait around the corner until I leave the house, just so they can leave a card!
MrsJ - I have a little stash, so I can just get on - I am just too impatient
.

Book that is AMAZING! How did you DO that!!! what a lovely, lovely square.

I'm OK (thank you for asking) though struggling today with tears - they just keep coming for no reason. I discovered during my hospital stays last year that when I'm physically weak my emotions go all haywire (I suspect most others are like this but it was news to me Shock). I'm neutropenic and devoid of energy which, frustratingly, translates into wimpy weepiness. But I have my very own blanket to keep me warm Wink

SasBel · 27/04/2018 15:59

Book! That is amazing! Constantly overawed by the skill of you ladies.
This is going to be a fabulous woolly hugSmile

Dowser · 27/04/2018 17:04

So sorry to hear this Annandale.
I hope you’re doing ok .

jetSTAR · 28/04/2018 08:08

Love your squares book ❤️

bookbook · 28/04/2018 08:51

Blush thank you all.
Twitter - its just an intarsia ( colourwork) knitted square, and then I sewed on the ball and bat . Its funny isn't it - how tiredness affects your moods . Take care .
Still wrangling about the next one, can't make up my mind what I am doing ...!

MadisonAvenue · 28/04/2018 10:34

Book you really do some beautiful work!

Twitter I hope that today is a better day Flowers

diamantegal · 28/04/2018 11:13

Yarn arrived here, thank you - have managed to pack DS off to the football with his friend so will get hooking while I have peace and quiet this afternoon.

WitchDancer · 28/04/2018 11:26

Wool has landed here too. I love my postal team - it was due to go to my office but they knew we wouldn't be there today so they brought it to my house 💕

I'm child free until 12.30, so I now have the dilemma of tidying the house or crochet 🤔

MadisonAvenue · 28/04/2018 12:12

Mine has arrived, thank you so much!

Iwantacampervan · 28/04/2018 12:37

Wool has arrived - thank you. The postman kindly put it behind a flower pot and didn't leave a note although I'm sure it would have gone through the letter box. Knitting squares for me this evening.

SasBel · 28/04/2018 14:31

Woolly treasure arrived safely! Thank you so much.

Yiayoula · 28/04/2018 14:48

Wool has arrived, many thanks K & P and also the lovely donors.
Book that is amazing !
Grey day here so Brew plus Cake plus knitting seems the best way to spend the afternoon....

Whatsthatbrightlght · 28/04/2018 18:07

Wool has arrived today, thank you x

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/04/2018 19:29

Ditto! Have made a start

WitchDancer · 28/04/2018 20:51

I've learned a new stitch tonight - this is from Jan Eaton's book and is the popcorn stitch. It's no daffodil, but I think it's suitable.
