Just devastating. Like many we just couldn’t take it in that CatThiefKeith had died so suddenly from the bastard illness meningitis. Utterly shocking. Words really do fail, we are just so very sorry life has been so cruel to her, her DH, young daughter, their families and friends. We are so pleased to say that her DH has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, and we hope that he and their DD will feel our love and support and that the blanket may give whatever comfort it can to them. There is a thread here if you would like to post condolences She brought a smile to so many faces with her stories of her mad life, Mumsnet is a sadder place without her here.

We want to make it a real tribute and celebration of CTK, will you join us?

We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we can match you up. If you would like to join in but need donated wool, we can help there too. Please message with your offer of help.

Our palette for CTK is quite specific, so please do read carefully

  • Red, her DH has asked for it to be predominantly red, and we will be using these 2 for consistency one of these please, Drops Merino Extra Fine 11 Red, or Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK WM6 ‘Ruby’ please. *Turquoise and lighter blues *Cream, one of the following - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK 02 ecru, Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK WM4 cream, or Drops Merino 01 off white *Apple, pistachio and lime greens
  • Orange - one of these please, Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK - Pumpkin (373) orDebbie Bliss Rialto DK - Tangerine (56) or Debbie Bliss Rialto DK - Burnt Orange (43) *Coral - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK 55 only please *Lighter silver Just for embellishments please - Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK WM7 Taupe -

Ideas and suggestions for squares.
Her DH has asked for any camper van motifs or designs and then ideas to come from her MN friends. Now different folk knew her in different ways, whether it was debating the existence of goldfish in funfairs or taking dogs on trains, many many stories were shared, and we would like to reflect these, so please, if you have an idea that you would like to share, please do, or post on the thread and we will try and get someone crafting it, but what we ask is that you send us a note we can pass on with the blanket to explain your ideas, help create a memory blanket for her DD. We hope that makes sense. xxx

I've made a start with this heart (and I'm a poet and I don't know it) last night.

Okkitokkiunga · 19/10/2017 11:24

Can't wait for wool to arrive. I've planned what I am going to do - no camper van sadly as that's waaaay beyond me. These are such beautiful squares.

KnottyAndPistey · 19/10/2017 12:39

Last posting for CTK will be Saturday 2nd December

Beautiful heart there! xxx

Are these two colours the right colours of turquoise and silver?

If not I can order something different and put these back into my stash.

I had red but none of my other colours really went with it so I've gone for a single colour square.

These are my latest offerings. The logos are laser cut in fleece fabric, if anyone wants to send me a digital line drawing I will be happy to cut them out. It won't be until after half term though. especially for knitters like me who lack some finesse

elephantoverthehill · 20/10/2017 20:13

Sorry, here they are.

I have stumbled across this thread this evening. I haven't been around much lately and hadn't heard the terrible news until now.

Name change for Halloween. They are lovely squares. Um Book I can trace around around a digital image on the program our CAM machine understands and it will cut it out. We usually use the laser cutter for wood and acrylic (solid form aka perspex) but it can be used for fabric, paper and card, even fondant icing. We only do the icing as a demonstration as it is used for other materials not just food.

I am, Knotty. Morning! Bright and sunny here, beautiful crispness to the world too!

Jux · 21/10/2017 11:12

Beautiful squares showing up, you’re all so industrious!

Elephant, that’s a very generous offer! I am very tempted; I’ll see if I can find a decent line drawing - any other instructions needed, like size etc?

Phantomoutforthechill · 21/10/2017 11:18

Jux no restriction on the size except for no bigger than the size of the knitted square. I only have red or orange fleece available, other colours or felt would have to be sent. Feel free to take up the offer.

KnottyAndPistey · 21/10/2017 11:19

Ahhhhh Jux - let me follow up, yours was coming directly from a lovely donor xxx

Thank you K&P - I have most of the next one done, ready so that will be good :)

IDoLikeARainbow · 21/10/2017 15:45

Finished this one, never done a ‘design’ before so am pretty pleased, hope CTK would approve.
Have been dreaming about crocheting again whilst I was trying to work it out so will go back to some simpler squares now with the leftover yarn.

My first two, in glorious donor wool FlowersStar

I am stuck choosing a two-colour design for the third as I won't have enough red for another solid. Will post with some other things once I get my head together Grin
