I am afraid we bring very sad news. We heard recently that 3littlebadgers' beautiful baby daughter was stillborn. Bless them all, such a devastating loss, we are so very sorry. 3’s thread is here. if you would like to add a message.

No words really are there? Sad
3littlebadgers and her family are in our hearts and thoughts, and we send them our love.

We are so pleased that they have accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love for them all in every stitch. We hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them.

So, we will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM us via KnottyAndPistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc and we’ll help you with all of it. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Thanks

Suggestions for personalisations and motifs
3littlebadgers and her family have been thinking about their blanket and have come up with some lovely ideas for their beautiful baby. Bless them all.

3 associates her daughter with white, white flowers, feathers and clouds…

Her children have suggested pink angel wings, little footprints ( she was so active and kicked them a lot) white balloons from her funeral, and ducks and horses which they see when they visit her grave.

3 also said that the morning of her birth saw a brilliant pink sunrise. This would make a beautiful square too.

Such beautiful ideas, and we also have the initials for all their children if this is something you can help with, please PM.

Colours
Pure white
Pinks - from pale to vibrant
Warm purples
Duck egg - but one of these two please - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK ‘aqua’, or ‘duck egg’

Our Yarns

  • Drops Merino Extra Fine DK
  • Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK? Artesano Superwash Merino DK
  • Patons Merino Extrafine DK (new this time)

Just from the brands listed please because we know they combine for wash and wear. If you still have any of our wools that have been discontinued - Rowan Cashsoft DK, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK or James C. Brett Pure Merino DK in your stash, please do use them.

Our listed yarns are all easily available online - Wise Badger have some very good offers at the moment, also Deramores, Wool Warehouse, Laughing Hens stock our brands too.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info such as help with buying colours, recommended online retailers and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for patterns. Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles. Always feel free to post questions on the thread if unsure. When finished double knot the yarn and using a needle please sew in your ends but don’t block your work. Then PM for details for posting.

This means so much to the 3littlebadgers, thank you so much for joining with us.

If not already, do join us on Facebook - MNWoollyHugs, or @MNWoollyHugs on Twitter, good ways to keep in touch in addition to here.

As always, the most enormous thank you. Thinking of them all. xxx

    Thanks

We already have lovely donors to thank. Honestly your donations mean so much, we always want to be inclusive, for everyone to join in if they would like to, and some folk just wouldn't be able to afford to. Your kind donations make it possible, we really are so grateful.

Thanks Pagwatch Star

We will send wool out to crafters on your behalf, and they will make something beautiful for Dashing's family from you both.

Sometimes, just saying thank you doesn't feel enough, but the most enormous thanks to you all Thanks

First timer Wooly Hug-er and novice knitter, but would love to help. I have ordered some of the suggested yarn. Please PM me if you want a particular colour? It will be pretty plain, but hopefully will add to the overall effect.

Should have been clearer- I've ordered some of the specified yarn colours you listed up thread, but let me know if you'd prefer me to knit any particular one of those colours.

Thanks Chris and welcome on board, we are very glad to have you with us. We have no particular choice from within our colours, you please choose what you'd like to make for 3, then that will be perfect. Thank you so much Thanks

My white is more cream than white. It's Drops Merino extra fine and called Off White. Is that any good?

I've got some Debbie bliss cashmerino DK left overs from a blanket a good few years ago, don't know the exact colour but it's a mid pink. Think it was cup of tea's blanket for her little girl.

Would it be okay to use that? I can start now whilst waiting for wool for other blankets.
