I am afraid we bring very sad news. We heard recently that 3littlebadgers' beautiful baby daughter was stillborn. Bless them all, such a devastating loss, we are so very sorry. 3’s thread is here. if you would like to add a message.

No words really are there? Sad
3littlebadgers and her family are in our hearts and thoughts, and we send them our love.

We are so pleased that they have accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love for them all in every stitch. We hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them.

So, we will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM us via KnottyAndPistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc and we’ll help you with all of it. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Thanks

Suggestions for personalisations and motifs
3littlebadgers and her family have been thinking about their blanket and have come up with some lovely ideas for their beautiful baby. Bless them all.

3 associates her daughter with white, white flowers, feathers and clouds…

Her children have suggested pink angel wings, little footprints ( she was so active and kicked them a lot) white balloons from her funeral, and ducks and horses which they see when they visit her grave.

3 also said that the morning of her birth saw a brilliant pink sunrise. This would make a beautiful square too.

Such beautiful ideas, and we also have the initials for all their children if this is something you can help with, please PM.

Colours
Pure white
Pinks - from pale to vibrant
Warm purples
Duck egg - but one of these two please - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK ‘aqua’, or ‘duck egg’

Our Yarns

  • Drops Merino Extra Fine DK
  • Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK? Artesano Superwash Merino DK
  • Patons Merino Extrafine DK (new this time)

Just from the brands listed please because we know they combine for wash and wear. If you still have any of our wools that have been discontinued - Rowan Cashsoft DK, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK or James C. Brett Pure Merino DK in your stash, please do use them.

Our listed yarns are all easily available online - Wise Badger have some very good offers at the moment, also Deramores, Wool Warehouse, Laughing Hens stock our brands too.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info such as help with buying colours, recommended online retailers and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for patterns. Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles. Always feel free to post questions on the thread if unsure. When finished double knot the yarn and using a needle please sew in your ends but don’t block your work. Then PM for details for posting.

This means so much to the 3littlebadgers, thank you so much for joining with us.

If not already, do join us on Facebook - MNWoollyHugs, or @MNWoollyHugs on Twitter, good ways to keep in touch in addition to here.

As always, the most enormous thank you. Thinking of them all. xxx

    Thanks

Zing that's really kind, but please don't worry, I expect you are busy enough already! I will just make an extra one for creamhearts and hope that it all evens out :)

Martha

if it's not too late to post on Sat or early next week I might just be able to rock up a quick 2-tone granny square on your behalf for shiney if you want. let me know ASAP which colours I should use - I have enough aqua, duck, stone and burnt orange left

Afternoon Brew

We can certainly link to blanket thread from the website Martha. Tis not a silly idea at all. We have in the past when we've been joined by crafters from the family who aren't on MN. No reason why not to do that regularly. We have a new website under construction, will have to double check where it can fit in on there.

Good idea though, thank you Thanks

Yes, starting new threads in the topic seems a good idea. I wonder if in the rolling project thread (Billie's blankets, little hugs etc) you could also post the Woolly Hugs, with a link to the relevant thread, when the last posting date is set, so that all of the ongoing projects are in one place if people don't check in much? Don't worry if that's a silly idea though :)

I finally posted my squares, they're not particularly special, I am taking you at your word about plain squares :) I neglected to include a note, but the pink diagonal garter stitch one is for 3littlebadgers (I hope that is what you meant by vibrant!) and the plum/purple half treble crochet one is for DashingRedHead, sorry I don't have any of the colours listed for shineyshoes10 and figured waiting for delivery etc would be too much of a delay.

I've almost finished my first square for creamhearts so now I seem to be up to date with Woolly Hugs.

I try and keep an eye out for Woolly Hugs threads, but somehow missed this one. Terribly sad news Sad it's well past the deadline but if you are short of squares let me know and I can do a couple of plain ones quite quickly x
