Not if you add a shed load bit of brandy after mulling.

GlaikitInAPearTree · 07/12/2013 17:53

Troo!

KnottyLocks · 07/12/2013 19:12

The last of my Antiguan rum went in my Christmas pudding...

watchingout · 08/12/2013 16:34

The tree is up! Sherry anyone? Need to sit back and survey and spend the evening adjusting baubles

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/12/2013 12:43

Just lighting the fire and putting a brew on. Mince pie, stollen bite anyone?

Am waiting in for UPS to come and collect the Little Hugs for Yorkhill, screamed around this morning to be back for 12, but have this feeling they will come just before 5pm. I have promised myself that I will be purposeful.

So far, that ain't happening!

I have finished all my Christmas projects apart from an infnity scarf that I'm plodding away with. Woolly square for superman will be picked up again shortly and posted within deadline. I don't fancy braving the post office again until after Christmas now. I have a sparkly little hug on the go too, but it's slow going and will take a while to finish.

I think I'm pretty much going to take a break from projects at the moment and concentrate on learning to knit and maybe Tunisian crochet too, while I have DH home splitting the childcare.

KnottyLocks · 17/12/2013 16:47

Just the family Christmas woolly stuff to do now!

Good grief. Xmas Confused

Have finished 7 squares of a blanket for a friend's baby, who is due this week(!) I'm working on the presumption that I won't see the baby till after Christmas, and that come this weekend I'll have loads of time to finish the blanket (I have two assignments to hand in before then, so can't do any more this week - am typing whilst composing a speech about islands in my head and worrying that I don't know anything about reflecting on the role of Mary in the Roman Catholic tradition!)

Am a bit unsure about the blanket - it's going to be gorgeous if the baby's a girl, but if it's a boy I'm worried it won't be quite right!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/12/2013 21:39

Hope all goes well Mhw :)

DH is just making mulled wine if anyone would like one?

Hosting inlaw Christmas here tomorrow , so should also be tidying and stuff but have lost my oomph.

Hopefully I shall find it soon Wine

All done, save direct family wrapping, which all needs doing, and which will be me in the middle of the night as always. Every year, I think I will be more organised the following year, and it never happens.

I suspect it never will Xmas Grin

Oooo and the cake needs icing, but DS does that , he loves to stick every single decoration we have on, and then it ends up looking like a rave. Love it.

And, we are out today, going up Big London, DH has planned a treat (awww) but is now fretting at the lack of trains. Think they start again at 10. There is a definite time frame to his plan, so it must be a theatre/cinema??

Need to shift my arse, that's for sure.

Maybe one more Brew

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/12/2013 09:51

Hellooooooo all Woollyy people - and apologies for my continued absence from t'pub.

Good luck with your trip to That Lunnon, Pistey - sounds intriguing! But please don't get jealous when I tell you about our family outing for Christmas Eve. The EvilWolef family will be going to the dentist, for our annual check-ups. There - I knew you'd envy me!

I am well into my list of things to be done - the stock is bubbling gently away, the milk for the bread sauce is infusing, and the gammon is boiling in its cider and spices. That just leaves eleventy-thousand more things to do. Le sigh.

I hope all the woolly people are safe and warm and no-one has been blown away by the storms.

Hello all! Not been in for ages!!

Not done any wrapping of presents at all, but only have about 4 to do anyway so won't take long! Tomorrow's dinner is sorted, got our pizza's and garlic bread yesterday. Need to do a bit of hoovering up and that is it really!

Will get some beers in the fridge to have tonight I think!

PurpleKittyKnitting · 24/12/2013 09:59

Oh and I plan tomorrow to get some new granny squares done to finally make a start on one for MN Woolly Hugs!

Mhw02 · 24/12/2013 10:28

Today I need to collect my gran's Christmas present from the florist, buy almonds and icing sugar and eggs, marzipan and ice the cake, wrap mum's Christmas presents (as in the ones she's giving to people, not the ones I've bought for her - I did my present wrapping last night), post the last lot of Christmas cards, lay the table for tomorrow, and then I'm singing the psalm at midnight mass. And there was me planning a nice relaxing Christmas Eve!

We're completely disorganised this year. We've not even got the tree up. My mum's been in hospital for the past three weeks, she's only just home, so things have been rather chaotic and we've just not got round to it. I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit Bah Humbug this year!

HoggyTruffle · 24/12/2013 16:04

Merry Christmas to one and all. It's very peaceful here after a wild and windy night and the DC are playing together nicely (it will never last). I have even remembered to defrost the turkey. Xmas Grin

I'm planning to open a nice bottle of fizz later so cheers!

Jacksmania · 24/12/2013 16:32

Merry Christmas everyone!!
I'm hoping to have time to sew together the flower for Superman's blanket later if my fingers are working after some lovely bubbly before we go to MIL's for dinner. How lucky am I, she's doing the entire meal, all I had to bring was dessert! I made Key Lime pie cheesecake. Mmmmmm...

KnottyLocks · 24/12/2013 23:54

Love and light to all x

May your Christmas be a lovely one.
