Woolly Hugs : A Blanket for SupermansBigRedBottleOfSpirits. Crafters and donors, please, we need your help.

I am afraid we bring very sad news. We heard recently that our SupermansBigRedBottleOfSpirits’ third child, beautiful baby Summer has died at nearly twelve weeks of age. Bless them all, such a devastating loss, we are so very sorry. Superman’s thread is here.

She and her family are in our hearts and thoughts, and we send them love. We are so pleased that they have accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love for them all in every stitch. We hope it may give whatever comfort it can.

So lovely donors, knitters and crocheters, we will need help to make this happen, and will be so grateful if you can join with us.

All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Superman and her family have been thinking about their blanket and have come up with some lovely ideas for baby Summer. Bless them all.

Gorgeous lime green woolly wool arrived this morning. I shall get going tonight :)

I have just found a ball of Sublime extra fine merino wool DK, in shade 0229 (blueberry pie?), in the depths of my stash - it's a slightly darker purple than the clematis Jenny Watson I was sent. Could I use it for a square then?! It has been sitting there looking pretty for months, and I wasn't sure what to do with it!

What devastating news. I am so very sorry for their terrible loss.

I posted my parcel this lunchtime second class (stingy ) but it might get there tomorrow anyway. Forgot to put my name in though, but there are two crocheted squares and done left overs, many thanks to my donor for the wool, it was a lovely claret red :)

Have finished two squares, will post them tomorrow. I have used Rialto in claret for a flower in the centre of one of them - is this okay? I bought it thinking it was a deep, bright, pink, but I'm worried it's a bit too red.

There's only one. If it isn't there tomorrow I will do you another one.

Yay, the plum/claret colours were mine, hope they come in useful

Two squares on their way now, Pistey - one burgundy, with a cream flower, and one cream with a pale blue flower.

I'm going to make some more, with the donor wool you sent me, and I will have them set aside for the sad point when more are needed.

I am on my third square.

Two are in the gorgeous purple colour that Pistey recommended and my third is the Debbie Bliss ecru. Whilst out in town on Sunday, I found a little independent wool shop, they only had the above, but it was better than coming away with nothing. I am aiming to post them out early next week.
