We have heard the shocking and devastating news that TrinityRhino's DP died suddenly this weekend. Very sadly, many of us will also know that Trinity tragically lost her DH four years ago. Trinity's thread is here
She and her girls are in our thoughts and we send them much love.

We've offered to make them a blanket in the hope it may give whatever comfort it can.

So we are now asking for help once again Thanks

Pistey (RatherBeOnThePiste) will co-ordinate and I'll be here to answer any queries you may have. We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool).
If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc.

Thank you so much Thanks

The wool we are using

  • James C. Brett Pure Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (being discontinued, but still some around)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Rialto DK (new to us)

Just from these please as they are very similar and we know they can be combined for wash and wear. These are all easily available online, try Deramores, Laughing Hens, RKMWools, AWoollyTail, WiseBadger.

The Colours
Warm purples, blues, silvers and cream
If choosing cream please go for either the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013 or the James Brett no 7
Green and pink but only for embellishments

Suggestions for motifs
*Fishing, fish and the sea
*Themes from nature, flowers
*A submarine, a gecko
*A teddy bear, a crocodile (for Trin's teddy bear in a crocodile suit)
*We have their initials if you would like to help with this, please PM Pistey.

Thanks

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Previous blankets can be seen on our website We also have a Facebook page MNWoollyHugs and are on Twitter @MNWoollyHugs. If you like or follow us you'll be updated on progress via your feed. If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

When ready for posting, please PM Pistey for info.

As always, we thank you so much for your support. Thanks

Knotty and Pistey

Oh yes, the colour code for the James Brett cream is 7. Should have read the OP!

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 17/05/2013 00:07

The Deramores price for Drbbie Bliss is £5.50/ball, Jacks.

GlaikitFizzog · 17/05/2013 00:19

Offer still stands Jacks! :)

Jacksmania · 17/05/2013 01:02

Oh ok, so that's not that much more. Good to know. Maybe I'll pick up a package of ten while I'm at Mum's - if we're still going to be using it.

Glaikit - hmmm... how much would postage be to either Toronto or Vancouver?

GlaikitFizzog · 17/05/2013 02:33

Based on sending 5x50g balls £4.50 or 10 x50g balls £7.20 and considering pistey sent me 2 balls within the uk for £3 Shock and I parcel I wanted to sed 150 miles away cost me nearly £6 that's not bad!

Why am I still up????

Jacksmania · 17/05/2013 02:57

I don't know, why? :o

Ok - I would love that - thank you ThanksThanksThanks

TheRealMBJ · 17/05/2013 08:03

Just a quick question. Is the DB Rialto Ecru the same shade as the Cashmerino 013?

KnottyLocks · 17/05/2013 08:15

Morning all.

The DB Ecru isn't quite the same - it's creamier , but close enough for us to use, so that's the cream we're adding to the list. Tis Debbie Bliss Rialto DK Ecru 02.

Currently just over £4 a ball at Hejhog and Woolly Badger.

That's obv Wise Badger, not Woolly. Smile

Jacksmania · 17/05/2013 23:57

Is the deadline for Trin's blanket also May 25?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/05/2013 00:20

No deadline for Trin has been set yet Jacks X

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 18/05/2013 10:27

Right, I've finished all my squares and will get to a post office next week. I've got 2 for teamsurvival, 2 for Trinity and some for a little hug, and have completely run out of wool.

Strange profile problem, any new photos are overwriting the old ones, but I've put my 2 for Trinity on.

WednesdayNext · 18/05/2013 14:10

My donor wool has arrived and it's gorgeous!! Thanks x

motherofsnortpigs · 18/05/2013 14:48
