Oh no! The previous thread has become full and suddenly we need a new one, with no way of linking old to new. I hope people will find this one. :)

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome.

Ophelia, you're on - I've put you above the line where 'here be dragons' as otherwise it's only DAISY and me representing the North of England, with Formerly technically on the right latitude but in another country Grin If you live just south of the line, I'm moving the line down!

I'm surprised to hear Chester is short on wool shops, I would have thought it'd have a few naice places.

I'm off today to my 'knitting with colour' workshop so I am insanely excited to learn how I've been doing it wrong all this time.

But good work babs!

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2012 13:36

Finally caught up and found the "new" thread! Life has been hectic, but I have four squares winging their way to Knotty/Pistey for Matilda's blanket.

This time it's all about the texture and I had great fun knitting/crocheting them and tackled bobbles for the first time, to what I hope is great effect. I like them, but used some spare yarn left over from the last two, so am not sure of the colour. If not suitable for this blanket, maybe a future one?

Sorry am a tad late with posting, but it's been a hectioc weekend of ballet shows and working so no chance to get to the PO.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2012 13:42

Rosie, two of my squares are "double sided", in that they look the same on each side. I found quite a few on t'interweb like that.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2012 13:45

Oh, and am feeling rather Blush that I have just posted on the thread when I am namechecked in the OP BlushBlush

But, yes, loads of dragons here; I practically have to wade through them every time I leave the house Wink

DAISY, I assume you've seen the newsletter from BRE about the Yorkshire Wool Week in October? A number of events planned including a talk by Knitty.com founder Amy Singer.

I should say, I don't think residence in the People's Republic of Yorkshire is mandatory to attend these events :) All are welcome of course!

I'll "friend" you if you want MinnieBar Smile

I'm already friends with SGM (who I've met in RL at Scottish Christmas MN meet ups and MmeLindor (who I've not actually met but to whom I've sent my Mum's tablet recipe) Smile

MinnieBar · 02/07/2012 14:31

I am now friends with Pistey. Am already friends with MmeLindor so I'm also on that list too. Er, honestly I don't spend all my time stalking well-known MNers through FB, it just looks that way...

nickelbarapasaurus · 02/07/2012 14:36

am i friends with pistey?
or does she hate me?
Confused

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2012 14:42

I haven't seen it yet trib, but I'll bear it in my mind. I love love love knitty.com!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 02/07/2012 14:43

I am Pistey's friend - but only because I've met her in RL at a MN do. They were watering down the gin, it was a conspiracy. I'm also friends with Knotty. We danced like no-one was looking at the same event even though lots of people were looking Knotty is a mean dancer. I am on the MNWooly hugs list too, and the MNers FB group. I'm a wee bit of a FB addict...

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 14:47

Minnie, you have FR :)

MinnieBar · 02/07/2012 15:59

Thanks Pidj!

Loving all your pics - the knitting ones. I am sooo tempted to take up crochet - don't know how to start though...

BarbaraWoodlouse · 02/07/2012 16:46

Minnie me too. On the advice of the lovely crocheteers here I have Crochet Unravelled and a natty set of coloured crochet hooks hopefully on their way as we speak.

Glaikit · 02/07/2012 20:10

Glaikit · 02/07/2012 20:11

And that shouldn't be on this thread! I can't multi task!

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 20:17

You have pm, formerly :)

tribpot · 02/07/2012 21:27

Oh Formerly - how sad to be you Wink

I will graciously befriend you on FB so that you need not die alone in a flat half-eaten by an Alsatian, á la Bridget Jones' worst nightmare.

All by myself don't want to be all by myself any more

I'll be your friend too Formerly. Prettybird has already taken me under her wing!

prettybird · 02/07/2012 21:38

Smile Glaikit

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 02/07/2012 22:14

Blush you guuuuys! Blush

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 02/07/2012 22:16

I meant friends with anyone from mn
I do have other friends!

tribpot · 02/07/2012 22:18

Yeah, yeah - so you say. Wink Being friends with a colleague's tortoise doesn't count.

I definitely am not friends with a colleague's tortoise. The tortoise does not have an FB profile in order to be an extra neighbour when we were playing Farmville.

My cat really is on Catbook, though.

I can confirm I have only mammalian friends :)
