Oh no! The previous thread has become full and suddenly we need a new one, with no way of linking old to new. I hope people will find this one. :)

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome.

Ophelia, you're on - I've put you above the line where 'here be dragons' as otherwise it's only DAISY and me representing the North of England, with Formerly technically on the right latitude but in another country Grin If you live just south of the line, I'm moving the line down!

I'm surprised to hear Chester is short on wool shops, I would have thought it'd have a few naice places.

I'm off today to my 'knitting with colour' workshop so I am insanely excited to learn how I've been doing it wrong all this time.

Glaikit, I've lost my 6mm hook so popped into my local shop for one... And came out with two balls of wool as well Blush

RedRosie · 28/06/2012 07:09

Morning all.

GreatestGatsby - Pitsey will tell you that there are many sizes of exactly 6" square squares ... Oh yes.

My 2 approximately precisely 6" squares will be in the post on Saturday.

Evenin' all.

My second square is almost finished and will be posted tomorrow or possibly Monday but no later

Have the Blanket Queens ever thought (when they get squillions of squares for a single project) of doing double-sided blankets? Or is that too horrid a thought ...? :)

KnottyLocks · 29/06/2012 18:45

Rosie, if you felt the weight of a Wooly Hug, you really wouldn't think of double-siding them Grin

Previous spares have become blankets to raise funds for charity. The Anthony Nolan one helped to raise £1373 . We have one ready for Winston's Wish too.

RedRosie · 29/06/2012 18:59

I'm sure ... Also, think of the issues back-to-backing all of those perfectly six inch squares!

:o

PurplePidjin · 29/06/2012 19:00

It never occurred to me you could - how??

Iirc they weigh about 18kg already...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/06/2012 19:02

Hello Rosie (Woolly Hugs Poet Laureate TM, Patent Pending) we need a How Happy Are We That It's Friday Poem?

but can it also mention gin?

KnottyLocks · 29/06/2012 19:23

And Wine and [rum]

KnottyLocks · 29/06/2012 19:24

Rosie, if it makes you feel any better, one of the Kwazii minihugs is double-sided. Smile

BarbaraWoodlouse · 29/06/2012 19:39

Yes, we need a Friday poem! I'm on the [beer] so if we could squeeze that in too I'd be appreciative Grin

RedRosie · 29/06/2012 19:49

Poem on the occasion of how happy we are that it's Friday

Friday. Its Friday. Oh joy unconfined!
If we thought it was Thursday we'd be out of our minds ...

For Friday is our day for rum, wine and gin,
For chocolate and cuddles and all sorts of sins ...

There's nothing like Friday for lifting the heart
As folk come together, no longer apart ...

Even in tough times when we're feeling sad
On Fridays we cry, "hey, life's not that bad!"
